All SAMSUNG devices manufactured after the date of JULY 2013 and Samsung devices running on Android version is Android 4.4 (KITKAT) are subject to REGION LOCKING
If your phone has been used previously with the original carrier, this will not apply to you. However, if your device is BRAND NEW, your must activate it with the original carrier and make a call of 5 minutes or longer.

In order for your Samsung device NOT to be region locked, you MUST activate (FIRST USE) your S3, S4, S5, NOTE 2, NOTE 3 with your ORIGINAL carrier at least ONCE to take your region lock OFF. After your Region lock is off, you can Sim Unlock your device via Unlock Code.

Hi, I bought a "refurbished" (Appears Brand new) Galaxy S6 SM-G920A from a company in Melbourne, Australia. it came in a sealed Samsung box. The phone is legit, as I have spoken to Samsung about it. I can use a local telco supplied SIM to make and receive calls - therefore AT&T have unlocked the device prior to disposal. I am guessing that AT&T had a bunch of these left over due to arrival of S7 and S8 etc...
It is full of AT&T Applications which I cannot uninstall. I can live with this, however I cannot use "wifi calling" in Australia because It appears to be locked to an AT&T account? (which I dont have!!!) I would like to talk to AT&T about this via live chat - but - I can't get to them because I dont have an AT&T phone number or account. Any thoughts on how I can contact them?
Is it possible to overwrite the supplied firmware with a standard generic Samsung firmware that would allow this phone to act like an "unlocked" phone in Australia? Note that I am not interested in rooting the device because I want Samsung Pay operable...
Hi,
Im from Mexico and I just bought an unlocked Note 8 from amazon(sprint version) because it was really cheap ($650 USD) , i flashed the unlocked rom and now i want to use Samsung Pay which has just been launched in my country but because my phone is from the US i not able to make it work with my cards (as expected). My question is: I have a US Note 8 (Snapdragon) my country is Exynos only so i cant flash the local rom but could i flash only the home CSC from the unlocked Mexican rom to enable samsung pay?
As several threads mentioned Samsung pay is running based on the CSC, I have similar request with you, just want to add different cards from two country
Hello did you got it to work?
I've got a Hong Kong N9500 and have been happily using Samsung Pay in the UK for the last 2 weeks no problems.
The only drawback is that you won't get the local offers and vouchers etc but the card payments work perfectly fine
Hi all,
I'm finally moving from an iPhone to Samsung and have ordered an international, Dual-SIM version of the Note 8 from an Irish seller. The phone is unlocked and I plan to use it in the UK, however I've been reading on these forums about region locks prevent the use of Samsung Pay.
I plan to use it in UK, so could this be a problem and would I need to flash UK firmware onto it? Or will it work fine?
Thank in advance guys!
And other thing, will VoLTE work on that international version in the UK?
Thanks!
Hello everyone, wondering if I purchase this n9600 will it work on verizon?? Looks like there is a hk, latin american and international n9600. If i purchase this one will i be able to have cdma on verizon? Not too concerned with samsung pay working but I also don't want to root, I have pixel 3 for that. Just want to pop sim in and have working service like my n960u1 did
