Sync internal SD-card to USB-OTG Storage - Tasker Tips & Tricks

Hello fellow Taskers,
i hope my thread title describes what i want, but if not here's what i'd like to happen.
Whenever i connect a USB Stick via OTG to my N9005 i want it to sync (copy and only add new(er)) files from my Internal SD Card to the USB storage i connected.
I have no idea how to make this work so i completly rely on the skill of you guys here =)
i hope you can help me make this work, or maybe offer a different approach if that's not possible.
thanks in advance! =)

USB mass storage drive replaced by FAT32 drive

guys after flashing and reflashing various roms i have a problem. The roms work fine, however when trying to use the usb mass storage in order to put files on my phone , its seems the regular drive has been replaced by a much smaller capacity drive of 236kb with FAT32 written below it.
Any help would be much appriciated
Hey mate, flash this in recovery. If that doesn't work, flash a fresh copy of your rom and then flash this.
Good Luck!

[Q] I can't mount usb memory stick

Hello all,
I have an xperia x8 and GingerDX ROM
I can't mount usb memory sticks, I use Q5 memory usb and root explorer, when I open /usb_drive directory is empty.
I tried with several software to mount usb memory but I think it's drivers problem, I think I need a module to install but when I installed GingerDX ROM and see the Q5 memory usb software I supposed all needed things were ready to insert a memory usb stick and read it.
I tried with 1gb memory stick, with 4gb memory stick and no one works.
Could you help me to mount memory sticks? I read a lot of webs and tutorials but always the same information, install Q5, install root explorer, make a directory with usb_drive name, and ready to work. But always the directory is empty.
I tried with Host controller usb but only detects the sdcard, not the usb memory stick.
If you know how to solve it please let me know,
Thanks
Won't work.. You need a phone capable of OTG USB for that..
This is only available for 2011 and above phones. There is a thread about this, so next time be sure to search.
Good luck:thumbup:

Hi All,
I'm newbie to this area and I just flashing my P1000 into CM10.1 with JB 4.2.2. Everything is work fine for me and I love the PDroid Manager function very much too!
The only problem that I encountered now is the USB mass storage function. When i plug in the USB cable into desktop computer, it only shows external SD card drive but internal SD card drive shows nothing whereby lots of data were stored into internal SD card.
Does anyone help to enlightening me on how to get back to live for my internal SD card drive?
Thanks in advance!

Try to disable and re-enable the mass storage.
The error should only occur after the boot.
Bye. Paolo.

Hi Paolo,
Thanks for your advice. However, I tried to disable & re-enable the mass storage under storage - USB computer connection still can't solve my problem as computer keep asking to "insert a disk" when I click the internal SD card drive.
Any idea?
Thanks.
hi all,
after reset all setting to default factory setting, the internal SD card mass storage issue had been settled. Thanks for your concern and advice.

Connect to your PC?
You are not being clear.
You connect it using the USB cable.
If you meant to say the PC can't detect it, you still have to tell in what way, as storage, in Odin, etc, etc?

Have you set Fast Charger?
If set can not use mass storage.
Bye. Paolo.

Hi All,
Same problem comes back again after I've done factory reset to my GT-P1000. Besides this, I discover that the radio keeps telling me no service but I still can access my mail using mobile data network (not WiFi).
Other than these, my GT-P1000 will reboot itself automatically. Please be informed that I did flashing this from original GB to this ROM directly.
Is there any advice can be taken? I don't wish keep factory resetting my GT-P1000 in order to access the internal SD again.
Another issue need to find out is how to switch the picture storage location from internal SD to external SD after camera snapped?
Please help, thanks!

Can't mount USB Storage (internal storage)

Hi All,
My device is Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N700 using Jelly Bean 4.1.2. (not rooted). Before I was using ICS.
My problem is that my USB storage (internal memory) is not recognized (0.00B/0.00B). My system storage and SD card is fine though. If I plug my phone to my PC it also can only recognizes the external SD Card. I tried to mount SD Card from settings > storage > USB Storage > mount SD card, but it just won't do anything.
I've googled and looked within forums and read something about the different path address: ICS (/sdcard) and JB (/sdcard0). Most of the people that encountered the similar problems were rooted. And I'm such a beginner couldn't understand the explanations. I've been trying to solve this problem for nearly a week. I couldn't use my camera, download images etc.
Can anyone help and try to explain the solutions for a noob like me? I really couldn't understand most of the talks about this similar topic.
Thanks
I had the same problem as you. I read somewhere that if you re-install ICS and then JB the problem is fixed. I never got around to try this because in the meantime and when trying to debug / fix it I ended up "bricking" my phone...
If you want to give it a try, you need the ADB drivers in your PC, ODIN and the appropriate ROMs that you can get from Sam mobile.

I'd appreciate some help... Exfat/NTFS and stuff

So I'm kinda new to this rooting thing. Currently on my first rooted phone, and have been loving the experience.
But I've run into an issue that I'm not sure how to solve. My phone doesn't support exfat or NTFS for portable storage SD cards. And the files I keep are too big for fat32 to handle.
I know I can format as internal shared storage and use ext4 that way, but I really hate how internal shared storage encrypts everything on the SD. I don't want to tie the data on my SD card to the lifespan of my phone, or to the lifespan of however long before I do a factory reset.
Is there a way to change what os my phone runs in order to move to something that supports exfat? And if so, can you please give me a noob friendly way of how to do that?
Supposedly this Kernel is supposed to give exFAT support when used with a Magisk module.
P.S., where this is your first time ROMming and such, some quick tips: Make sure you flash everything on a high charge (80% or higher), and through a USB you're not worried about having any frays or anything. I'll always use the nicest, newest USB I have just to play it safe. Razer specifically states on their site that the cable included with the phone 2 is NOT intended for flashing any files -- only for massive power passthrough. It's also always a good idea to keep a backup / original image somewhere handy in case **** hits the fan... because believe me, you'll brick your OS one day, and it'll be nice to have a quick fix so you're not out a phone. Feel free to PM if you've got any other general Root/ROM questions!
