How much time does it take now to charge from 0-100% in oneplus3t. Before it used to take 1 hr 35 mins. But after last couple of updates it takes 1 hr only. So has the updates improved the charging capability or has my battery deteriorated? Tried in both switched on and switch off mode but got Same results .Cleared cache and complete battery drain. still same .
Same here before update it would take 1hr and 25 min now on 4.1 only 45 mins from 3%

Be careful with the brightness, as it's kinda a big screen, it just does more waste of energy. Even with Bravia Engine 2 i guess, (correct me if i'm wrong). Also chech all the configurations. Sync, mobile data mode, screen timeout. etc.

All data transmissions are disabled. 1 hour of standby time it takes 1%. I think the long charging 4 hours. It is necessary to carry it in for repair or is it all wrong and it is considered the norm?

Are you using the charger in the box? Old chargers are usually slower.
4 hour charges are nothing really. My iPad takes 4 hours to charge on 2A and 8-9 hours on phone chargers.
Big battery = long charge time
i don't know if that's a problem dude. i charge my xperia SP for only 2 hours and 30 mins. i can last 2 days without charging. sending an SMS, playing games for at least 1 hr. surfing the internet for 2 hours. my xperia sp is just new and i believe my battery backup will improve because of battery charging cycles.
4 hours is normal fir watching a movie with full brightness, especially if you turn on WiFi and mobile data. When I play a heavy game it usually lasts 4 hours. Just be smart with your phone settings and the battery can last longer

Hey guys ! I have read many complains about the charging time of the HTC One, but they were a long time ago.... before the 4.2.2 update. So are the things now different ? How much time does it take to charge from 1-8% to 100% ? My HTC One X takes around 3:30 hours, which is alful. And some people tell me that the One charges 5-6 hours ??? Is this possible ? I mean that is alful ! Also is there someone comming from HOX to tell me if the battery is much improved ? Thanks !
4.1.2 charging time from almost empty to 90% takes ~3 hours, from 90% to 99% takes another ~ 30 minutes and from 99% to 100% another ~30 minutes.
4.2.2 charging time from almost empty to 90% takes ~2 hours, from 90% to 99% takes another ~ 20 minutes and from 99% to 100% another ~10 minutes.
Charging times are very dependant of how many amps (A) the charger is outputting. If we are talking about the standard 1A charger that comes with the One, then it doesn't take anywhere near 5-6 hours from 0-100. Maybe a couple hours at most, but thats all.
It also depends on how much the phone is being used while charging. I was successfully able to fully drain my Galaxy Nexus while plugged into a charger.
I don't have any complaints about the charge times (even coming from an iPhone). I usually charge it for the measly 3-6 hours I sleep, but even if I wake up in the middle of the night, it seems to have charged significantly from what it was.
Thanks for the info guys ! What did HTC do to improve the charging time ? Is Qualcomm's quickcharge now enabled ? And also can I use a charger higher than 1A ? Or it will damage my phone ? Thanks again !
EDIT: Oh and also can I game on the phone while it is charging or it will overheat ? Thats what my One X is doing

i've just tried to charge my htc one from 0% (it does not switch on) and after 2:30h the led became green.. i think it's strange too..
My droid turbo heats up tremendously on turbo charging, even the screen is extremely warm.
Also its charging at the rate of 1 percent per minute. When not in use, even switched off.
So I'm not getting that 7 hours of usage in 15 minutes charging.
Also in a typical full charge how many hours screen on time are you getting.
Thanks for your help
boot the phone into recovery and wipe the cache, that wipes the battery stats and should fix the overheating issue....works for me everytime

i did it. performed factory reset as well. still its like that only. its a new phone
The turbo charger puts out serious power. The phone will get hot. That's just how it is. The 8 hours of use in 15 min charge was marketing and it depends on how you use your phone. Your phone is fine and normal unless you're getting like 2 hours of screen on time from a full charge.

It take about 90 minutes to fully charge. If it start charging my phone from 5 percent, in 15 minutes, it would reach around 20 percent. ( note im not using my phone while charging. )
I would get around 1 hour of screen on time with 20 percent. With turbo charging it should reach to 75 percent in 15 minutes. Right ?
On full charge, i would get 6 hours screen on time. i do wifi, browsing , and music with it.
Is that fine ?
Thanks
The number of hours they talked about when advertising the phone were more geared towards people who rarely use their phone. 6 hours of SoT is pretty average for these phones. My turbo takes about two hours from dead to reach a full charge. 15 minutes of Charging adds 8 hours of battery to your phone but not 8 hours of SoT. The turbo charger does make my phone really hot as well but it's putting a lot of juice in the battery really fast. Still have yet to get more than one day out of mine!
I've yet to drain my battery in a day. Last night I got down to about 20% at 1am. Alarm went off and took it off the charger around 8am. I listened music to bluetooth headphones for about 7 hours at work. Used GPS for 4 separate drives (about 20 minute average). Streamed some stuff to chrome cast (maybe 20 minutes) and used it to read news, facebook, snapchat and look at articles randomly through the day.
The only changes I've made is disabling most of the verizon bloat that came with the phone.
Also, I have no overheating problems. Maybe my case is dissipating the heat?

Getting hot is not a problem. Phones are designed to withstand some pretty high heat. I did some testing with a few apps and found the Turbo regularly hits 112 Degrees while Turbo charging. There is a system in place on your phone that will warn you if heat is too high.
Someone on another forum got this warning. Basically said "I'm dangerously hot! Shutting down now!" While not official it is speculated that the threshold is in the 130's...
It gets hot with the turbo charger, mostly when the battery is low. Heat is never great for a battery, although I don't think it's going to kill the battery in the long run,I only use the turbo charger when I need a quick twenty percent, overnight I use a normal charger that doesn't charge fast but doesn't get hot either, works for me
How long after imitating the the cache wipe until it finishes. I selected it and its been 5 mins and the phone still says erasing.

I came here wondering this same thing. I'm used to my phones clearing cache within seconds. I wonder why Turbo takes so long :-/
Can you clear cache in the original recovery? Where do I find that in the recovery menu?

It varies a lot. Usually 3-5 hours. 11-14 hours of use before the battery is about to die.
Again I am a HEAVY user... and I play Ingress which is the mother of all battery drainers... but even on a "slow" Ingress day, I can't usually make it to bedtime without needing topped off. I have pretty long days too. Get up at 7:30 > bed at 1am most day.
But still...no where even close to 48 hours...

Pffft. I've had my RAZR HD die on me by lunchtime. So... no.
Point made.
I DO love the phone, don't get me wrong. And the Turbo charging is just awesome.
Hello guys i have bought a note 8 from 7 days and i have Seen that battery percentual decrease quickly. In the morning after some minutes with only display unlock i loose 5%.
Is this normal?
Thank you
Dude dont charge your phone to 100% over and over all the night. You cant remplace easily the battery. Dont worry about your battery drain, I thinks is ok. Normally we got 6-7 hours of screen on time, so if you only lose 5% in 30 min... it mean you can get around 10 hours!

I charge my phone on a wireless charger base overnight and it stops charging when at 100% and no problems! Anyway, if you read the latest thoughts on charging, keeping the battery over 60% is best and no damage will be done by over night charging!

The best for a litium battery is stay in 40-60 percent. Charging more than 80% will also damage your battery life (but sooo much less than let it drain to 0%). Charging over night isnt good for a battery (at least I think it). Check AccuBattery, is a very nice app to battery management. And when you hit the 100% it stops, but will run again because you wont get a 99% while the phone are in the pad. Hope I help you ^^
Do you monitor your data? You could have some apps working in the background and using both your data and battery. Install a data monitor app to check which apps use your data.
I get 1.5 to 2.5 % drain per hour in idle, gps wifi and data off, aod on, sometimes even 0.9% per hour overnight
Hello everybody.
I'm using MIUI 13 with Android 11. I used to fully charge my phone from 15-20% to 100% in about 90-100 minutes, back when we had Xiaomi's backup in the Gallery app. But since february, when Xiaomi disabled photos backup for my country (that was different in every zone of the world) and I was forced to use Google's, a full charge from 15-20% to 100, it's taking 120-150 minutes!!! It's ridiculous. I believe Google starts creating a backup when I start charning the phone, but even after the backup was created, which takes about 15-20 minutes, the charging is still extremely slow. I'm charging my phone right now. It's been 1 hour and 23 minutes and it went from 15 to 47%. Before the Google Photos change, by this time, the battery was aroud 85-90%. So the charging speed it's like half than it was before.
I wouldn't like to stop using Google Photo's backup altogether but this charging time it's ridiculous.. Anybody else is having this issue??
I'm not using the original charger because if I do that, the battery drains considerably faster. I'm using a charger compatible with QC Fast Charge 3, which makes the phone shows a "Fast charge" message and it is like a middle speed charge. Full charge with this charger takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes, with the original charger it would take about 1 hour, and with a regular charger takes 3 hours minimum.
Thanks.
your battery has been degraded, maybe you should change your habits charging your phone.

That's ridiculous. The phone is only 5 months old and I'm charging it every 3 or 4 days.
I disabled the backup from Google Photos, I only gave Google Photos access to my Gallery app and now the charging is fast like before. The battery is suddenly not "degraded" anymore. How about that??
good for you then, that's just my guess assuming that you charge your phone until 100%

That's what I always did with my Redmi 4X for almost 5 years and it's still working, but battery barely last a day now. That myth about charging the phone to 85% maximum it's really stupid. 99% of people buys a new phone every 2-3 years tops anyway. Why sacrifice your phone's autonomy for a little more battery longevity?? It's pointless.
