pokemon go problem - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey i got problem with my nexus 6 newest pure nexus and blackbird kernel installed with NO root.
And iam getting message "unable to authenticate", also safetynet shows me the red message i dont know why.
Do you know what can i do with that?

Safety net now fails if your boot loader is unlocked. You need to root with magisk

You don't need to root... A custom kernel can hide the unlocked bootloader. No idea if Blackbird does that. Blackbird, IIRC, though is permissive by default and that will also trigger SafetyNet.

With franco works, but blackbird is smooth as ****

Yeah. Franco hides the unlocked bootloader state and doesn't mess with SELinux.
Have you tried changing Blackbird to enforcing? If you really want to use it, that is...

have you gone into developer option and turned off usb-debugging? If not do that and reboot and try to go into Pokemon go again. I have managed to get it work with Magisk but haven't tried without root at all. Try turning off usb-debugging and let us know if that worked.

Safestrap Install

Hey guys,
I noticed the mention in red for the safestrap install mentioning not to try it if encrypted. Does he mean SELinux? If so, I can't disable/set to permissive no matter what I try. I've tried the app, su'ing and running setenforce, and whatever else has been mentioned and I have yet to get out of Enforcing. Is there a trick that I am missing or is all this even necessary? Thanks!

LineageOS Help

Hi XDA!
I need some help with lineageos on here. I'm a pretty seasoned flashaholic and generally know what I'm doing however this is stumping me.
Anytime I install lineageos + magisk, I have no root. All flashing goes to plan, however when I open magisk manager I get one of 2 things:
Either, I'm rooted with magisk installed, or I'm not rooted with magisk installed.
It seems to depend on which root app gains root first - for example, if magisk says I'm rooted (e.g it'd the first app to gain root) then any other app I open afterwards will tell me I'm not rooted, including root checkers. If I open a root checker first, it will say I'm rooted but then magisk will say after that I'm not, but magisk is installed, and all root apps from then on will fail. I'm really not sure what the problem is, and I have done clean installs, dirty flashes etc. All I have enabled is magisk hide and its busybox toggle. I've tried turning off it's busybox but no luck.
It gets worse if I enable developer options, Even if I don't touch any root settings in there (I like to disable Bluetooth absolute volume). If I do this, I loose root completely, but it still says magisk is installed. I'm not using SuperSU as I want to pass safetynet, and there are no su files from lineageos in /system/bin or xbin.
Obviously doesn't happen with OOS and all works fine.
Firmware is correct for LOS etc
If anyone can help I would appreciate it
Norman
Bump anyone?
Do you have Magisk built-in busybox enabled? If so, try disabling it. From the Magisk release thread:
FAQ:
Q: I am losing root randomly!
A: In some custom roms (known: LineageOS), enabling the Magisk busybox will make root unstable
If you experience root loss issue, disable busybox in MagiskManager

Thanks for the answer, but you didn't read all i put. It happens with or without busybox enabled. It happens more when i have developer options enabled so i can disable absolute bluetooth volume.

Oh crap... I did miss that part... Sorry about that. Gonna blame a long week and tired eyes.
No idea then, other than it being a LineageOS issue (I really dislike that ROM).

My unrooted phone doesn't pass safetynet

Hi, I have a problem with my OnePlus 2. My phone is running Lineage OS 14.1 and I can't play Pokemon go. My phone has been rooted but I uninstalled it so Pokemon should work right? I also did a safetynet check and I didn't pass it. I hope anyone here can help me with this.

You need a factory reset, probably.

Thanks I'll try it
Apart from root, there are also other things that trigger SafetyNet. Most common suspects:
Bootloader needs to be locked or you'll need something that masks/doesn't report the bootloader state. Some custom kernels do this.
SELinux need to be enforcing.
Thanks, is it possible to lock the bootloader again?

The OnePlus Two does not report bootloader lock status to SafetyNet so it does not matter if it is unlocked.
I would try reflashing the rom and making sure it is not rooted. If you want root you will want to flash Magisk via TWRP.

Thank you, I will try to reflash it and see if it is working. I'm sure my phone is not rooted anymore, I have uninstalled the root in the SuperSU app.

Netflix stuck at loading screen on rooted N9

Hi peoole, today i found my netflix not working on my rooted N9. I can login and browse through but when i try to play anything, it gets stuck at loading? Does it have anything to do with a rooted device? I checked magisk for safety pass and it did pass. Plz help !
Most custom roms include a Netflix fix. Yo could try to hide it with magisk, see if that does anything.
I'm using custom rom based on Samsung's with root, and Netflix can't play in hd + widevine level 3.
Is it normal? What caused it from l1 to l3- root or custom rom or bl unlocked?
i have the same problem but i used the old version of Netflix.. the problem was resolved for me ...
this version is worded for me
.. 2018.10.01 ..
Go back to stock if you can, unless you're a developer there's no reason. Imo

Don't go back to stock, there is a module on Magisk that allows you to play Netflix.. See this thread..

That should fix it.

Question Safetynet NOT passing on stock rom or any other custom roms that use MIUI Vendor

I've fastboot flashed the official stock rom, MIUI EU and others. They all don't pass safetynet the CTS profile mismatch which means my device isn't certified in google play store. Other OSS roms like arrowOS works and passes.
How can I fix it
Found a potential fix here. Testing it in a few. Will update. https://droidholic.com/fix-safetynet-failed-cts-profile-false/

Download and enable "MagiskHide Props Config" module from the magisk modules section. Reboot. The method provided from droidholic did not work for me on Motorola G Power 2021 Boost Mobile USA variant Magisk rooted. Nor did MagiskHide props. However, My play store and certain easily triggered apps still work thanks to the Magisk Hide props module.

I don't want to use magisk. My phone can't be rooted because of work related reasons. I flashed the latest fastboot rom and it still doesn't pass CT profile check. My play store says device is not certified.
How can this be?

Unlocked bootloader
Why you flash stock without to wanna root, instead only update original fw if it's a company phone?
You can try to lock the bootloader again with miflash but I recommend to read exactly the manuals before locking again.

I am no expert, but I do believe once the bootloader is unlocked, it triggers a flag at boot level. It does warn against unlocking the bootloader on most devices prior to unlocking. I'd say that once anything is flashed, another flag is triggered. It's like Knox, but for the boot level I think. If you check the bootloader, there is usually some red and yellow colored text output that helps to diagnose the current state of the device. I am no pro, so I hope this makes sense and provides answers.

No unlocked bootloader has nothing to do with it. Google broke safetynet for almost all ROMS starting sep 2 I think. The latest Arrow OS ROM and a few other ROMS that just released new builds pass safetynet once again.
hi
I have A video on it all Necessary information and modules are in a single zip file to pass safety net, follow v the video and pass Safetynet
link here
@TechV did you find a solution to this?
