Magisk hide seemingly causing a reboot - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any body here using magisk and magisk hide . I'm having an issue where I enable hide and my phone reboots constantly after being in the ROM for around 10 secs. I've posted in the magisk forum but nothings come up.
Only using magisksu
Attempted on the 11.1 and 12 nightlies
I've tried it on both aoxp and experience ROMs
The only app I'm hiding is my banks

Xposed Modules Question

I started using Xposed modules a few weeks back but i now started messing with them for good but i have some questions.
Why i cant see or download a module that i say though it is compatible with my android version (JB 4.1.2) and my device
(This is the module http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508709 )
(I might be wrong about the compatibility thing)
And last but not least i am dying to try XHalo Floating Window module http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2419287
but for an unknown reason the damn thing wont work ...... i tried disabling all the modules but still i get nothing .
Thank you so much for any possible answer!
Not all modules work on all devices, even some modules are specific for heavily customized HTC and Samsung phones, other modules only work on AOSP - Vanilla and just a few are specific to Xperia phones.
Agree with post above,I have tried several others some worked but not fully others didn't work at all.
Many things affect it the main 1 being the ROM/stock theme.
remember you need to install module, then reboot, then change settings from module. I normally reboot again just to make sure the settings stick.
I have found the gravity box module the best to use as it gives slot of options.
If you have updated the xposed framework to latest edition you can download from with in the app.

Magisk with CM13 and Xposed

Hello guys. I'm tempted to install Magisk on my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. I have the latest CM13 Nightly + Xposed and I want to ask if Magisk has any problem running alongside these two.
Another question is if I can still use the built in CM13 root.
Thanks for your answers!
Im running on CM 13 (ZenFone 2 Laser ZOOL) stable and it works fine.
The only problem is that with xposed active the safetynet check don't pass. But its just a matter of disabling xposed and rebooting when necessary.
I dont know if the differences are too significant, but hope it helps.

That means Magisk doesn't work with Xposed ? Or I just have to unninstall Xposed and then install again after installing Magisk ?

Magisk itself works perfectly with Xposed installed, only Magisk Hide that doesn't hide Xposed.
So if you don't plan on using any app that checks Safety Net (Pokemon Go, Android Pay, for example) You won't have any problem.

and what about the built in CM13 root ?
I think the newest Magisk auto removes it when you flash it.
But I had manually removed before installing magisk on mine.
But in any case, if I remember correctly you can just remove it thru the SuperSU app before flashing Magisk.

[GUIDE] How to Pass SafetyNet on Android 7.1.2_r17 AOSP ROM

Hi all,
We have always seen the issues in passing the SafetyNet in the AOSP ROM of Santhosh M. Today, I read the guide and heard about the new magisk v13 beta is available and allows the users to pass the SafetyNet. I couldn't stop myself trying it on my phone.
I am using Nexus 5 AOSP ROM by Santhosh M and tried it on my device the latest zip file and installed it on my device.
Make sure if you are having Magisk v 5.0.2
Downloads:
Download Magisk V13 Beta
Magisk Manager 5.0.2 Apk
Installation Instructions:
Download Magisk v13 and Magisk manager on your device
Reboot your phone into recovery
Install the zip file on your device
Reboot your phone and check the magisk manager application
You will see safetyNet is getting passed.
Troubleshooting
If you have activated magisk core features then please turn it off and try again.
If you have installedmagisk after SUPERSU then please flash this zip file on your device before flashing magisk to completely remove SuperSU files.
Verdict
If you still have any issues please feel free to shoot your query
I'm guessing this only works on 7.1.2?
Tried it on stock 6.0.1..failed of course
Strangely I can pass SafetyNet now though

I tried to use "core-only" feature, but then both tests failed.
Then I installed the magisk module "safetynet fix" and now it works !
BTW, it was only for the challenge, I don't need safety check pass, because I don't play Pokemon GO, and I don't have Android Pay in France for now.

viper4android fx, the exact one you download right from downloads in magisk manager.
and these are not photoshopped. and no atm i do not have my 3minit battery mod installed as i have recently redid my phone from scratch so i could confirm to myself that getting twrp and magisk on ob1 was not a fluke. btw i msm'd my phone back to 9.0.11 6 times and successfully everytime got twrp and magisk installed.

This happens to me sometimes.
What I do is close and open Magisk Manager app and do another search for Viper. Eventually, it (randomly) would appear.
I have also searched using 'team dewitt'.
Hope it helps!

[Question] Xposed still worth it with Android 9/10 ?

I used Xposed a lot 10 years ago, but I don't remember much of that time. Is it still worth it? Do Xposed and the modules still work nicely with Android 9 and 10 ?
I am thinking about it, because I want to change the scroll behavior of Android, using an Xposed module. And maybe, to look around for other Xposed modules...
Magisk does not have many modules that interest me.

Using xposed is a personal choice.
I am using a samsung S8 on android 9 using about 12 modules.
Rovo's version of xposed only works up to android 8 ( oreo ).
For 8 and up you will have to use Edxposed.
Edxposed will require magisk to be installed.
Edxposed will require 3 components
Riru core - download through magisk
Riru Edxposed - download through magisk
Edxposed manager
XDA thread for edxposed
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/development/official-edxposed-successor-xposed-t4070199
As to what modules that work It a bit hard to say you will have to try them out. Early modules may not work properly since they haven't been updated to newer android versions.
All modules are downloaded from the xposed repository ( using edxposed manager or website ).

Is VirtualXposed on the table by any chance?
I'm having noting but problems
I personally think the effort to get it running smoothly isn't worth it when Android 11 has exposed a few of the features that xposed granted users in the past. Also there are apps on the playstore and other sites that fill the gap to some degree.
One big one for me in the past was xposed edge, now I use edge gestures from the playstore, and it doesn't even require root let alone xposed.
