Good day all,
I have a broken Droid Turbo and have this Galaxy Pocket as a temporary replacement.
I need a phonenumber from a girl I met and have a date with on saturday, but only have her phonenumber so no other way of contact
ADB won't let me pull contacts (phone unauthorized) after x amount of trials with drivers etc no luck at all.
So then my old Whatsapp backup to retrieve the conversation thus number. BUT:
Stock ROM Galaxy pocket does not handle Google Play service at all, so unable to retrieve backup.
Custom ROM does handle Google Play Service but it won't install, nor does it allow to read my SD or connect phone to the laptop to install different apk.
Gapps succesfully flashed, but the search for backups is an infinite loop
Any other suggestions?

Ok, I've mentioned this in the main damage thread, but it moves along too fast and gets lost among the shuffle and I don't want to clutter it anymore.
I, and I've noticed at least two other people, have not been able to send out emails since trying the OC kernel on dc 2.08.
The OC never worked well on my hero to begin with (guess I'm one of the people unlucky enough to have a processor that works just where it needs to and no more), so the first thing I did was a nandroid back to plain 2.08. But I still had the no email problem.
I've since then tried flashing a boot image provided by another user with no luck (but doing that does break wifi), flashing 2.08 over itself, upgrading to what turned out to be the broken 2.09, then downgrading back to 2.08, then reflashing over itself again, and earlier nandroids.
All that has still left me unable to send out emails. Or any data through email, such as when I delete an email on my phone hours later it will still show up when I log into gmail on my computer.
I've been on the phone with sprint and their advanced techs. Their guess is that somehow my email clients started using a blocked port to try and send out email info. The only way they know of to fix is to erase the account and start a new one. with gmail the only way to do that is to hard reset. So I made a nandroid, did a factory wipe, and tried that. When trying to create a new account I get the message that the mobile network is not available and to try using wifi instead. (This leads me to believe that the blocked port theory is probably correct)
So... how do I get my email accounts using a different not blocked port?
MOD EDIT - Moved to Q&A as not development related
Clearing data and cache in gmail and gmail storage under manage applications seems to have cleared this up. At the least, temporarily.
I got the wifi Tab earlier this month. I initially tried to set it up to sync with Kies, couldn't get it to work and gave up trying to fix the error I got. I honestly spent all of about 5 minutes trying to fix it before giving up and uninstalling the program. I've been syncing media wirelessly ever since. Are there features of Kies that I'm missing out on though? Should I spend the time trying to figure out why it won't sync with my Tab or is it not even worth my time? What does Kies offer exactly? I couldn't get the program to work so I honestly don't know.
Apart from synchronizing data with your phone (which I don't do since I'm already using other applications for that purpose), the one main reason to use Kies is to receive all the latest official Samsung-ROMs upon release and being able to have your tab serviced for free should flashing fail.
So in my opinion you are not missing anything (someone here once wrote that you're not really using your phone unless you have voided the warranty).
The only reason I still have Kies installes is that the drivers installed with Kies are required for flashing with Odin.
So much for my opinion. Maybe someone else will tell you differently.
Contacts and calendar are already being synced with Gmail. Music is synced wirelessly via Doubletwist. Files are transferred wirelessly via Awesome Drop. What other stuff could I possibly need to sync?

Probably nothing. Apps and SMS are backed up, not synced. Besides Kies doesn't do it anyway.
I just fired up Kies to see what is synced:
1) Contacts (with Outlook)
2) Calendar (with Outlook)
3) Memos (with Outlook)
4) Music
5) Pictures (automatic resolution may be optimized for phone)
6) Videos (automatic conversion to supported formats possible)
7) Podcasts
You may also import/export these.
Since you have all these covered already, you really miss nothing by not using Kies.
The last remaining reason for using Kies and not just keeping it installed is being able to officially flash your phone with new firmware without forfeiting the warranty. If you would like to flash any custom ROM you want, then there really is no reason to use Kies.
Otherwise you may want to see whether you can make it run.
In any case you will need Kies for flashing with Odin, so you may want to reinstall it, if you are planning to flash new ROMs.
Hi all. I did a search but couldn't find a clear answer to this particular question. If it's out there I would appreciate if you could throw me a link.
I just received a replacement Moto X for my current unit which has a bad camera. Both were created using Motomaker if that makes a difference.
I've got the new phone activated and used Migrate to move the basic stuff, but I can't seem to find a way to move the majority of my apps to the new phone (I've used Titanium Backup previously but I guess that's not an option here as both have 4.4.2) and I've got quite a few programs that contain settings and data that I really don't want to lose or have to recreate from scratch.
Is there a program that would allow me to move the bulk of my current apps and the related data to the new phone relatively easily or should I just start the copy/paste bucket brigade via USB and my computer?
Edit: I'm also open to using adb and a nandroid backup if that's a possibility, but I would appreciate pointers to instructions if they exist. Thanks.
Does Google back up work, when I switched from my HTC to my MotoX, everything went across including wifi locations.
It should be in your menu, you are actually backing up your Google account and it restores data on any device that you sign in on.

It doesn't appear to be working as advertised. I've installed the same apps that were on my original phone and none of them had the same configuration or data on the new phone. I've even tried removing apps from the new phone and forcing a sync on the old phone, then reinstalling on the new phone about a half hour later to see if that might help but have had no better results.

Is it working properly with the Moto X now? I've seen quite a few reports of it failing on Motorola phones and the Play description itself mentions that it's not available to Motorola devices.
I've managed to connect my Galaxy Gear to my Acer Liquid E3. Everything works fine besides (obviously) S Voice and Weather, and contacts.
Whenever I try to access my contacts via my Gear it just keeps loading and can't read my contacts from my phone.
Another huge issue is that whenever my watch gets disconnected and I want to reconnect it, Gear Manager keeps asking for either restore via Backup or a complete Recovery.
Restore doesn't work and stops at 95% so I always have to do a complete recovery, which is kind of annoying. I've had a few instances where the Gear would connect again normally,
but most of the time I have to do a complete recovery.
Is there any fix for these issues? Can I replace the stock contacts app with the samsung contacts app (+ the framework).
Do keep in mind that I'm connecting my Gear with normal Bluetooth 4.0 and not BLE.
The Acer Liquid E3 will receive kitkat as soon as next week though (which will enable BLE), so maybe that will fix it.
I hope somebody can help, the watch is still usable (facebook, twitter, all work fine), but having to do a complete recovery and not being able to see a contacts list is extremely annoying.
Cheers!
Hello people!
Before posting looked forum andnot found something that really was functional for my business.
Well, I own a smartphone Moto X 2nd Generation, never updated, never did root or unlock the bootloader. So this week I decided to upgrade it to the latest version of lollipop 5.1, and made a hardreset ..
My mistake's there, I forgot the email that was used for the first did, he did very fast to just enjoy soon the unit. And just entering this confirmation loop problem, I tried another email that I created and nothing worked .. I tried to wait ace famous 72hrs after hardreset and anything else that tried:
*/watch-g v = lRxev6aVy (Youtube)
(I do not have the option of USB Enabled, then it did not work)

I wonder if here in the forum have this or another method that can solve my problem ..
Well, so far I have not had even a method that solves my problem , I'm trying in some way the flash unit , the most of such OEM options are disabled as well as USB Debugging, has some way to enable ADB or via fastboot via pc ?

No, it can't be done. You have to be able to get into the phone to turn on ADB.
There is no solution that you can do. You need to ask the previous owner to login then remove the account. You can't do anything yourself.

Have you heard of the method I mentioned above ? Sera that it is really possible? I think is something like this :

There is no way around it. You must talk to the person whose account is on the phone. There is no other way.
