i heard a lot of OP3T, but i still dont sure if to go on it or no.
i need some adviceses. did you reccomended me to buy it?

If you dont need the phone now I suggest to wait till OnePlus 5. But if you need i highly suggest the 3/T.

For 5 you would have to wait 2-5months.

go for OP3T which is awesome in every aspect.
But if you wait for OP5 (which is going to be even more awesome) do it

Just got a Nexus, have some questions

Hi,
I was really hoping the rumors would have been true and the Nexus 7 2 would have been announced. I was ready to pre-order last week. That didn’t happen so I pulled the trigger on the current Nexus 7. While I'm disappointed that I didn't get to get the brand new one I am VERY happy with it so far. I also got the official Nexus dock and a keyboard case. I have to say the official dock is so great I may buy a 2nd one! It’s overpriced but soooo nice.
Anyway, one thing I want to do right away is be able to get and send SMS texts from my phone on my N7. I have a Droid Razr Maxx by the way. What is the best software to do this?
Is there a free way to turn on the wireless tether on my Razr so I can connect my N7 to it? I also play Ingress and it would be cool to be able to use the N7 for that.
I'm not ready to root and try a custom ROM yet but what are some of the "must have" apps for the N7? Any info would be great!
Thanks

Possibly, but being mad about not being able to buy something which doesn't even exist yet is a waste of time and energy

He didn't say he was mad. He was hoping for a new release, there wasn't so he just bought what was available now.

Save the disappointment for when the new version is actually released I guess
Current logic is flawed, that's all. I'll shut up now, carry on.
FWIW OP, I was expecting an updated OS, when that didn't happen I unlocked, rooted, and began flashing whatever I wanted

Exactly. I wasn't going to buy the current one until after the big Google announcement. That would just be dumb. But again, I love this device so lets stop talking about "what if" or "when it does come out"... I want to talk about the cool things this one can do.
:cyclops:
Since its brand new, i'd recommend unlocking and rooting right away, just to get that out of the way should you wish to flash stuff later. Better to do it early since unlocking wipes everything and there's little data to keep that early. Having said that, I just finally unlocked/rooted after months of ownership and replacing all the data was trivial. Just a recommendation.
It's a very capable tablet completely stock, I just like tweaking things and the tablet UI is cool IMO.

HTC One Mini M7

Hi,
First off all I've been searching around the forums and find masses of information which is amazing.. But that also confuses me.
I came here because I have a stock HTC One M7 which is a mini (hope im in the correct section).
Basically I buy my phones outright for cash, and use the remaining money on sim only contract deals which saves me a bit of money..
So I've had this phone for going on 2 years.. its been fine and loved it at first.. but lately i'd say over the past 6 months the phone has gone extremely slow.. when I mean slow it can take 1 to 2 minutes to load apps then the same again for it to update information within that app.. If someone says take a picture I say not being funny but it would take 5 minutes for this phone to take the picture and the moment is lost..
Thing is I was planning on keeping this phone till 2016.. but at this rate id rather just wait till I get home to use the net.. im seriously tempted to dump it..
But as a last resort I read on google that the rom can be changed? but ive never done this and wouldn't know which rom would be best to get this phone back to how it was! I don't care for looks I just want speed.. if it had to be a google phone then so be it..
So my question is what rom would someone recommend to a newbie to the scene?? I don't want to scrimp because im a new so would like the best I can get ??
Please get in touch!
Again sorry if this isn't in the correct section.

If it was fine after a factory reset and slowed down after a few days, its probably cause by one (or more) app installed after the reset.

Well most of us don't know how to "instull" stuff.. However, some of us do know how to install a lot of stuff. I'm not sure if I want to learn how to "instull" though" because I don't think it'll be very useful in my life!

Xiaomi refuse to unlock my Redmi Note 7 ?

Hi all !
I tried muliple times to unlock my phone. I have to wait a week each time but the unlock software tells me to wait an additionnal week all the time.
Is it possible that Xiaomi refuse to unlock my phone ? I don't understand what's going on.
I searched for an alternative option it seems it doesn't exist yet.
Anyone has the same problem ?
Thanks.

If I remember now Xiaomi took 60 days to give unlock code, while before it took 15 days
It's been 3 months now. I think I would buy another device. The Xiaomi politic about unlocking is crap. I'm wasting my time.

I don't know my problem was similar to yours, but this is what happened to me.
I had to wait 1 week to unlock my bootloader. When the week was over, the unlocking tool (Mi Flash) told me I need to use the device a few more days. Instead of waiting, I downloaded an old version of the unlock tool, which made it possible to unlock the phone right away (instead of waiting a few more days).
This is the version of Mi Flash I used. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-F6_jbKa-OsbUFCZm1TUk9lMEE/view
I'm also having the same issue.

To me the problem is bigger than just this.
Now imagine a compagny that build your house. Now you want to open a window but you have to ask the compagny guy first and he says no.

Well, then you need to complain to most smartphones companies out there.
Back in the days Nexus models was so cools for developpers. There's a difference between complex method and the fact you need online key to unlock your phone. I don't understand this politic that most of the time encourage hacking. :silly:
I waited like a week the moment after I take it out of the box. Do you did the Mi account steps properly? It sounds stupid, but I could be a problem.
You MUST follow the steps with care! Never try shortcuts or alternative methods .... Use the phone during the wait period with the Sim card inserted ... And you are good.
If you are not either you did not follow precisely the instructions or gave Xiaomi reasons to believe you are attempting to unlock too many phones too fast (unofficial reseller, the reason the wait time exist).
Bug in the process can exist of course... But sincerely it's difficult I nthos case.

Thanks for putting that one up.
Unfortunately also with this olderversion I have to wait for 167 ours
I have tried with the latest version before, don't know if that makes a difference for setting the waiting period.
First try for me, going to wait for a week and see if I can unlock then.

I think you did something wrong the first time, like removing your mi account or trying to unlock with some unofficial ways ... And that triggered the loop. I mean, without realizing you did it.
At this point, if I was you, I would stop trying anything, use the phone with MIUI, after a factory reset and putting back again the mi account, for a couple of weeks, without trying anything.
After that, try the unlock procedure again, wait the week once more, and the you should be fine

You'll have to wait for 167 hours anyway. However, if Mi Flash asks you to use the device a couple more days (generally 72 hours) after the waiting period is over (in your case 168hrs), then you should use the old Mi Flash version, as it bypasses that additional waiting time.
Actually everythings was fine. After weeks of pain I finnaly managed to unlock my device. After 4 attempts... I don't know why Xiaomi does this but it's such a waste of time.

I had a similar problem I tried an earlier version of miflash and it worked first attempt
Try the earlier version of the flash tool -> miflash_unlock-en-2.3.803.10.zip

what happened to all the click to root apps? Would any work?

Title says is all really, pretty sure that the bootloader still needs unlocking, just I remember being able to root without unlocking the bootloader, without having TWRP /Clockwork mod in the past.
Tried a few of them with no luck, any way this can be done..
I've kind of given up on the bootloader unlock code and thus the ability to flash a rom (even though Huawei allowed this device to be treble compatible, evil bast****)
Would any exploits work?
Be good to at least get root on this crippled bloatfest excuse for an android device.

Yep I got that pal..
But you've missed the point.
Why?
Unlocking the bootloader was not always necessary.
Certain devices yes but how to know??
Installing TWRP to a partition is impossible without removing the checking system which is inherently what a locked bootloader brings.
But I'm not talking about that, nor am I talking about installing a custom ROM..
Only root, nothing more.

All the "click to root" apps were using certain exploits/privilege escalation vulnerabilities. With Android development those holes were patched by Google on Android level and by most OEMs on their custom versions level.

Honestly, OnePlus 7T pro, it's just a phenomenal phone, all the things im miss are just there and not a sniff of a company locking anything down.
It's butter smooth. I used my pro next to the 7t pro and honestly it's an incredible difference, it's like playing a game at 144hz for the first time, 60 just can't cut it ever again.
I'm going to let this can run down and get the 8, I usually upgrade 2-3 times a year but thought I'd give it a miss this year.. kind of glad I did but it's paining me now as my bootloader is screwed and there's only so much I can do without root.
I'd love to remove the swap memory (page file /zram) but I don't think it's possible.
Swap torpedo did this and the speed increase is amazing.
PS: I wouldn't bother with the S10 it's not as good as the oneplus devices tbh. S11 might compete but it's still Samsung so nah not for me.

I use my banking apps with root.
Things I need.
Root access to files for tweaks.
Page file removal
Bloat removal
Ad removal ( I can't tell you how much I don't like adverts)
Mods that Devs miss (CRT animation, Audio Boost etc)
Custom ROMs: more efficient, faster, feature rich
Latest OS
Early releases
If I didn't mod my phone using root id be bored in weeks (which I am) or I'd buy an IPhone.
First works for me on root, I just agreed when the notification same up.
For the ones that don't, the mobile version of the web page works perfectly for me, dependent on bank of course.
The trade off just isn't worth it for me especially with emui which is abysmally tedious and something I'd love to just delete from history.
