Overclocking? - P8lite General

Hi. I have a question. Can you overclock the cpu in this device?
Or change the scalling governor forever?
Oh, and the GPU, can you overclock it too or change its governor?

I think no one has done any overclocking yet.
This thing says it increases gpu clock speed limit a little http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=1242642

You can't overclock the CPU, you can only change the governor to Performance for forever...

If u use chrome top left corner is translate else/if it'isnt there use google translate or something similiar.
But it kind of says taht huawei has limited gpu max speed to 400mhz which is lower than normal. That thing should make it able to reach 500mhz.

With rooted device download kernel adiutor or similiar app and change CPU governor to performance, though if you want some battery saving optdemand or ondemand works equaly good with basic gaming/usage.

For Emui 4.0 you should be able to use esal v.2.1. But it has small stuttering or something like that, even though it increases benchmark score. Also with cpu hotplugs increases batterylife, but for me intel plug doesn't seem to work. Don't know how others got it working or maybe they are expecting different thing from it or I have miss understood why it is created.

Can somebody test if it's working?

[Q] Overclock in FroyoPro or FroyoBread? (your experiences)

Hi,
Seeing how well all the modifications to my phone are doing, I would like to start experimenting with overclocking a bit.
I have FroyoPro v2.5 installed, which is based on FroyoBread, so I would guess that overclocking on FroyoBread would have more or less the same effects as on FroyoPro. I'm on stock kernel, so overclocking would have to be done via modules. Overclock and undervolt modules are already resident in the system, but are not active as long as I don't rename them to their actual extensions.
So, what experiences do you guys have with overclocking on these two systems? Is it a good thing to do, or perhaps something to better avoid?
I've read somewhere that Froyo ROMs behave badly when an overclock is performed, but then again these two ROMs have a lot of things in common with GingerBread (for example, Xperia Active Launcher works flawlessly in FroyoPro, even though it has problems with FCs on a typical Froyo ROM). I would not want to screw up the device now that I'm beginning to adore it
I would advise you against overclocking if it's unnecessary for smooth performance. Froyo should run smooth on the X8 without any overclocking, so it's better to avoid it.
I overclocked Froyobread v23b and dam it!! I play Jetpack Joyride whit almost 0% lag!
Cheers,
Mistev
I over clocked froyo pro 2.5 up to 729mhz
I crossed that and found that device rebooted during multitask.
On stock kernel
Unfortunately stock kernel didn't support undervolt

I'll check the game.
Now what you need to understand is that not everyone has the possibility of an unblocked bootloader (manufacturing date). Not for free anyway.
About undervolting, you can undervolt the CPU in stock kernel. What's more, most, if not all, of the custom ROMs already make use of the undervolt module created by doixanh.
Anyway, I think that a fair test would be to run Angry Birds Star Wars for twenty minutes on a freshly rebooted system after opening and closing three games. If I don't experience any lags, end of test. Any lags would make me reboot the system again, overclock, open and close the same three games and run the game.
And the reason the game is chocking in your phone is probably because you're running Jellybean. And in that case, you must overclock because the OS is by itself heavier.
By the way, what new feature does the latest CWM offer you that you cannot find in older builds?

Fortun is right. I don't have the privilege of an unlocked bootloader because attempting to do so would probably brick the phone (the serial code at the battery ends with 39, and you can only unlock successfully up to number 29). Any overclocking would have to be done on stock kernel.
Anyway, I tried to overclock today, and started with the default of 691 MHz. I don't know if I did something wrong, but I experienced a significant drop in performance. The AnTuTu benchmark returned the score of about 1500 after the overclock, and it used to return a number around 2200 before the overclock. Naturally, I restored the defaults and disabled the module.
So, how normal is this reaction for FroyoPro on stock kernel? Should I drop this overclocking idea completely or is there something I missed? What is that second overclocking module about (x8oc20.ko)? I can't seem to find any info about it.

1 more things bro
Bootloader
Didn't matter fro which number i t ends
Look at that
10w29-safe to unlock
10w49- safe to unlock
11w29-safe to unlock
11w49 - device can be bricked, somewhere listen that can be unlocked via paid method.
12w29-can be unlocked by fast gsm it take charge.
12w49-same as 12w29.
So from 10w29 to 11w29 easy to unlock.
After that device can be hard brick
And
Didn't matter from which number it ends
matter that from which it starts.
if I helped press
My serial number is 11w39. At the unlock bootloader thread it said that I'm probably asking for a hard brick if I was to attempt to unlock. Sorry, I didn't know that the serial number can start with anything else other than 11. That's why I didn't pay it any attention.

Try overclocking with values over 700. Go slow and try first with 710.
Also don't check the "Set it on boot" checkbox just yet until you find a stable speed.

Hi everyone, I'm a noob in this case, so I wuold ask you something...
Yesterday I rooted my inc s but even if I can now download games like "fast & furious 6" it won't work even if I overclocked the CPU.

I downloaded "Beastmode Incredible S" kernel but I don't know how to proceed.

Uhh device information?
And also if a game does not work on your phone, it means it doesn't work. I doubt increasing GPU bandwidth limit or overclocking would make it work. It would certainly increase performance but it wudn't make something work.
And to install a kernel, we REALLY need to know your device details.

Hi, thx for the reply, I start saying that I need to oc the gpu because some games (games that work with my phonenot like fnf6) lag a bit. I'm sure it's not a cpu problem 'cause I raised it to 1.4 ghz using a conservative governor, but I think it's a gpu problem.
In this case could u tell me what I have to do and what details do u need? Thx.

This phone/CPU/GPU handles almost all content the Play Store can throw at it with ease. You may have slight FPS drops with the odd game, but you are not going to rewrite history gaining 4fps from a marginal over clock and even then you'd be better over clocking the GPU not the CPU anyway.
I agree with others. This obsession with Antutu scores is utterly pointless. And overclocks are a monumental waste of battery in the form of heat.
This obsession is almost as annoying as the folk that don't use any apps and wake their screen every now and then too increase screen on time, to then boast that they managed 12hours SOT.

That is false... The storage solution is what makes things Load quicker and what governor/io scheduler youre using. Over clocking is useless and trust me I know, I've over clocked every phone of mine until I realized all it does is cause instability, less battery life and more heating. The only viable over clocking is the GPU.

[Guide] EMUI custom CPU Frequency

Lately I have been observing that when We change CPU frequency in any app...
It doesn't stick. I mean that after a few seconds it would jump back to default 1200MHz.This is really annoying when underclocking.
[WHY UNDERCLOCK ????]
Maybe you want to save battery or just make your phone run cooler......?
[ WHY FREQUENCY DOESN'T STICK ?????]
EMUI power managing app...They call it
Power Genie...Its good but not good if you want full control of your device.
[BENIFIT ?????]
Aside from decreasing your CPU frequency it also limits your GPU frequency which limit can be removed by a mod on HTCMANIA.So by this guide you are allowing the GPU to run without chain as far as it can go. HAPPY GAMING. ??
[GUIDE]
It's not difficult.... Just find an app HwPowerGenieEngine3.apk in folder
/system/app/HwPowerGenieEngine3/ and rename that app to HwPowerGenieEngine3.apkkk or move that whole folder to some folder on maybe your SD card....Just don't delete it ..Maybe your mood changes and you again want to give control to Huawei back.
[CHANGING FREQUENCY]
Just use any app that can change your CPU frequency.
Works great, even powers core 4-7 more instead of pushing it all to 0-3.
BUT, as soon as you use an app that can only Display 4 cores, only those 4 cores will be powered. That means, that using Kernel adiutor is not a good idea. Give me a second and I will provide some screenshots.
I've included Screenshots of all cores without Kernel adiutor and with it installed. You can clearly see that cores 4-7 are turned off. You cannot turn them on in Adiutor. I think there are some apps that will let you clock them, will report back if I find any.
............You'r right......But atleast you can change frequecy...
BTW I will try if anything works in this case
Using PAC Performance works. https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3425007&d=1438425429
Uninstall Kernel adiutor. PAC Performance has less features and it's a little outdated, but it will work.

thanks

why not overclocking when its possible?!
its the whole purpose of xda to make things possible and to give the community the choice to modify their own devices to the max.
i've overclocked gpu to 725, which was super smooth and stable, gave me ~20% GPU boost, for free
so thats why i'd like to test a gpu oc to 770

greetings beloved people of XDA comunity
as title saying , im interested in testing a boot.img kernel with 770 max oc on GPU,
i've tested a kernel with 850 gpu oc , it wasnt stable at that high clock, so im looking to
test a little lower (should be stable at 770 since i've tested it on another devices with snapdragon 855 on it)
thanks

Graphic intensive games that don't go over 30/60fps? No use of it as most of the game run 30 or 60fps on SD 855 anyways.
Link please
