Hi there i'm facing a little non annoying thing with google play music on my n6 CM13.
GPM says that i have 1.8gig of downloaded music but
The thing is the same even if i delete the app data, which in the download section say that it is using 1.3 gig but there's no files in /data/data
So if i choose to download on storage my playlist which is around 500mb it will be added to the 1.3 gig and so give it a 1.8
but there's no other music in the /data/data/[GPM]/file folder than the ones on playlist
is this "normal" ?
can it be because of those mp3 encryption and so when restoring a backup the files get not deleted but lost somewhere and downloaded again?
I've just realize that when restoring a backup and my only playlist was downloading again at boot showing the 1.3 gig....
Is this possible to have such a memory loss???

I am having issues with dd2.7 recognizing my pictures or music files.
root explorer will see them and play them.
it seems that whenever the os is looking for the files they are not in the right place.
it worked fin with the old dc2.08
it works fine with rc0 froyo
i have installed dd2.7/GS/uv then repartitioned the sd put the music files in /sdcard/media/music and it saw them and played them.....until i rebooted then it was back to not seeing them at all.
in fact I cant push any pictures to the sdcard and have them show up in the gallery they do show up if i take the picture with the camera.
i cant get any custom wallpapers to show up either
Do a full wipe, and reflash, but remember to nandroid
i am not a noob....
so yes i have done a full wipe.
i have reformatted my sdcard
i have tried without the GS installed.
logcat shows nothing
Don't know about pics, but I know with froyo I had a music problem. And went through every file with mp3 tagger and made sure there was id tag info for both 1 & 2. Pain in the ass, but it worked
Sent from my Hero CDMA using XDA App
Short version:
Before I head to bed I thought I'd ask a question. What's the easiest way to create and backup playlists?
Long Version:
I created a playlist with the inbuilt Music app, but when I flashed a rom, as I often do, Titanium Backup didn't backup or restore my playlist. What I did was backup all user apps and system data in TB and when I chose to restore "[PLAYLISTS] Media Storage 2.2.1" nothing ever happens and it takes an annoying while to recreate them by scratch. What did I do wrong? If I can get TB to restore my playlists everything would be golden, but it never does.
Also, I already purchased PowerAmp. So, I don't want to download and install another music app like WinAmp to create playlists. So, what's the easiest way to create and backup playlists?
Going to bed.
I just wanted to write I think figured out an easy way to create and backup playlists.
1. I put all my music on my Captivate's sdcard,
2. I loaded the music folder from my Captivate into Foobar2000. I'm sure you can use other media players.
3. I highlighted/deleted/rearranged all the songs I wanted in my playlist and saved it as a .m3u file.
4. I uploaded the .m3u file to the Captivate's sdcard and it works.
I haven't flashed a rom yet, but 'm hoping I can simply drag the playlist file back to my Captivate.
Hello,
I am always running out of space because google music lets me only store my music in the internal storage of the razr i.
To solve this I have unlocked my bootloader and have rooted my phone.
My idea was to use the app "folder binding" to bypass this issue.
I have set the app up like described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015964&page=2 (first post on second page).
and the folders "music" and "cache" appear in my newly created directory on my sdcard but my storage still goes down!
What I ve done:
Source: /storage/sdcard1/GMusic
Target: /sdcard/Android/data/com.google.android.music/
(confusingly target and source seem to be mixed up in the app "folder binding")
Can anybody help me or suggest a solution? Is there a special trick I have to consider with the razr i?
You could try this proposal: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40122063&postcount=529
Thanks for the help!
what it does is using the external sdcard for both internal and external memory right?
I dont doubt that this works but its not the solution I am aiming at. I just want to store the music from google music on my external sdcard.
Hello all.
I can't get the walkman app to show any of my music from my ext SDcard. The app just shows the 6 default sony songs from internal/music.
When I put the MP3s in the internal/music with the other 6 files nothing happens.
What I tried:
- Reboot
- Clear data/cache on walkman
- Clear data/cache on media storage
- Check for .nomedia (not there)
- Unmount/remount SD card
Any ideas?
Thanks
edit: nvm, it took almost 30min for the songs to show up after clearing data/cache/remount

Well after loads of trial and errors, music uploaded on my memory card wont show on walkman unless synced via usb on to the internal memory and then I have to cut and paste it all in to my memory card using file manager, is this normal??
Hello guys I just checked my storage today and I found 15gb other files, and I can't find out what those files exactly!
I used es explorer and other many files manager and I read it's a bug after the latest update not forget to mention I'm on oos 4.1.3 not rooted.
Any thoughts?
?
Same thing happening with me.
Freedom os 2.7
Yeah same, mines at 13gb on freedom OS beta 7 and this is the 13gb which I can't account for. I have used multiple file explorers too see where this storage is but I can't find any files or anything.
"Other" means the rest of the Data on your phone which is not a Video, Audio or some Images.
This data could be application data, any files that you may have downloaded from the internet, The Temp data, Thumbnail Cache yadda yadda yadda.
It's basically anything else on your storage other than the Three i mentioned earlier. As you add more files on your storage which is not recognised by the Phone as an Audio, Video or an Image, it gets categorized as "Others"
Lol, had the same "problem" today - wondering about that much Space occupied by "Other" Data - most of it came from my TWRP backups maybe it's the same for you?
