So I'm going to buy a OnePlus 3T in a few days once I get paid, but I've been told that it doesn't use band 13 for LTE. I have Verizon and they use band 13 as their main band for LTE. Is there a way I can unlock it?

4.4 on my Verizon Dev X appears to give me AWS LTE... I say that because I get LTE signal when using my T-Mobile USA SIM in my X. And T-Mobile supports Band 4, not Band 13.

4.4 VZ Dev Ed gives me band 4 LTE with a TMo SIM. Have yet to try it since flashing a EU 4.4.2 file (kept my 4.4 VZ radios, so I can't imagine it would change much, but Play Store recognizes my device as XT1052 now, which I find funny).
What app do you use to check the band?

I have nothing that will display the LTE Band. I would love to find one that does.
For me, its process of Elimination.. VZW X initially supported LTE Band 13, which T-mobile doesn't support. T-Mobile does support LTE Band 4, which is the only other VZW LTE Band. (VZW lists Band 13 and 4 on their page for the X). Since I get LTE with my T-Mobile SIM it must be LTE band 4.
If you get T-Mobile LTE in any device, it supports AWS LTE, period.
I understand the process of elimination but on my SGS3 it would give me a band number (Band 13 in my case) but my Moto X gives me no band number. Is there a way to find out what band it is actually connected to?

As far as I know, no, not on vanilla Android. I also own a Galaxy S4 and what you're talking about is integrated into TouchWiz.
The Moto X used to tell you what Band it was on...this was prior to the Kitkat update. After that, I have been unable to find an app that tells me what band it is using. If anyone else has ideas, let me know. (BTW I am not rooted.)
I'm in China so I don't care about warranty. I'm using china-unicom and they uses 4G LTE band 3 as main band.
I just want to have unlocked bootloader and 4G LTE band 3 at same time. But according to the specs on moto website, pure editon have no band 3 support, while on the other hand, I don't know if AT&T model can have bootloader unlocked.
So I want to know that if there is a hardware difference between pure edition and ATT edition. If not, maybe I can just buy a pure edition and try to open band 3 by software operation. Or I don't know if I can get a bootloader unlocking code to deal with a ATT model.
Many thanks :laugh::laugh:

Really want to know dis..specially if the at&t model is unlocked

I‘m in China too.You can choose the Euro or HK NewMotoX in the future.I'm sure HK version will available.Just wait for it.
I'm no sure AT&T's newmotox can be unlock the Bootloader and the Network.
In fact, pure edition is T-mobile’s edition.Don't support China Unicom FDD-LTE Network.
T-mobile LTE band: 02 04 17.
呵呵。

I just checked the UK version but no band 03 either.
Come on MOTO! I just need a phone with unlocked BL and band 3 LTE at the same time!
My Tmobile Note 4 runs on AT&T unlocked. Will I have similar luck with a Tmobile Note 5 on AT&T if I can get it unlocked? One thread points to a missing Band 17 on the Tmobile device, but I don't have a definitive answer. Looking for the benefit of rootable and unlocked bootloader.
what exactly is Band 17 used for though? 2G, 3G, LTE, Talk/Text?
is your N4 missing Band17 as well?
why not pick up an unlocked intrnational version?
(Sent from another Galaxy via Tapatalk)
It is missing band 17, which is AT&T's low band.
Otherwise, it works great on AT&T.

I pulled up an LTE band tester and I am using band 17 at my house on my N4. I take it that means the TMob version is out.
That's right, the TMO Note 5 left out Band 17.
Has any enabling band 40 in XT1103 version? In my current city (bangalore) on my current network provider(Airtel) I need to enable band 40 to connect to LTE. Has anyone had a chance to try this out?
Both models of the nexus don't support band 40, so I would say not possible
Hello All,
I do often travel around the world. Thats the reason why i choose the OnePlus Nord CE model (the Website promote to support a lot of LTE Bands).
Now I read, that OnePlus disable some LTE Bands for the area outside you live.
I've the EB13BA (EU) model.
Which LTE Bands are supported with that model?
Is it possible to unlock the other Bands?
Will the install of the Global Firmware, unlock the LTE Bands?
Thank you an best regards.

A prepaid SIM such as "SIM2Fly", which is used temporarily when traveling, will probably work fine.
By the way, my "EB13AA" is
Gsm: 850, 900, 1800, 1900
Wcdma: v1/2/4/5/6/8/19
LTE-FDD: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/26/28/66
LTE-TDD: B38/39/40/41
The number of bands is very wide, so the question is probably whether you need "VoLTE" or not.
For Japanese carrier SIMs, many are "VoLTE", so this phone without it enabled will be a Wi-fi only device.
In fact I have been working on that problem for a very long time, and I was able to turn it on only when the OS was "11.0.1.1.EB13AA", but all later OSes were impossible.
There is a bias in the OS files available, and "11.0.1.1.EB13AA" is not currently available on the Internet.
hy, thank you for your reply. I downloaded the 11.0.1.1.EB13AA version on the OnePlus site. But im not sure if it will unlock other LTE Bands. As i say i have the European and not the Global version. Is there a diffrent between a travel SIM and a native SIM?

In most cases, a travel SIM can be plugged into a device to get a signal and use it.
I don't know the specifics of the SIM, but the travel SIM should cover the common LTE bands.
And
OnePlus will disable some LTE bands in the area outside where you live.
Even if this is true, it should not disable common LTE bands in the world, such as B3/B20.
This is mostly speculation, but I hope it helps.
If you are unsure, it is fun to flash globalROM boldly.
