dbrand skin? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

I'm considering getting one. Just curious if anyone has one here and how good it is in terms of quality, installation and grip. I have a sandstone case right now and just wondering if it's smarter to use a case instead. But I really like the way the look can be completely changed but want to get some feedback from anyone who already has one. Thanks in advance everyone.

had one on op3, looked really good, installation is easy, but feeling when it in hands is terrible, like old cheap pre-smartphone. i would better stick to case than dbrand skin. that's my position about dbrand.

I have been using one on my OP3 for a while.. the quality of the skin is decent enough and the look is great. The problem is that its really annoying in the hands as the skin, even when installed pretty much perfectly, has an edge to it which is uncomfortable to the touch. Even after using plastic cards or solid materials to skim the edges, its still annoying.
I also found the top and bottom pieces to be incredibly difficult to align during installation, and after only a little while they started to fray around the edges so I ended taking them off.

I personally love my skin!!

Dbrand
I ordered 2 types of black wraps(hyper titanium and matte black ) comes with full and a split . I like the full matte black looks better and less slippery than hyper titanium. I've never used cases with any of my phones so I can't compare it with a case but I can say it's less slippery than aluminum chassis . Definitely looks better if you get it right. You have pay extra attention to the corners they collect dust and dirt. When talking on the phone ,my beard (If you don't have one or shave every day that wouldn't be a problem for you ) gets stuck between wrap and phone and it hurts .Make sure you buy extra because it's so easy to f*** up. Look at the gap around the camera. This is the second one, first one didn't have that gap.
I wish they had a black version when they first released the 3t but dbrand is way cheaper than buying a whole new phone. Hope this helps

i had a skin on the back and front but the one on the front was insanely weak

Just got one couple days ago. Black leather and wood top and bottom with solid blue one plus logo. The phone looks sexy af. Installation is a little bit a pain though. The key is hairdryer and patience.

Thank you. I wanted have a solid black piece just like black 3t. That was the best I could do. I also got the silver logo to use it with split version even tho colors doesn't match still looked okay.

Does it feel slippery?
I will totally do like yours too once I get tired of mine.

I picked out a few skin backs and a few different top/bottoms that I thought would match. Well, they did look exactly like I thought that they would. Problem was, as has been mentioned above, the tops and bottoms, no matter how you grind/smooth them down, are still pretty sharp when holding the phone, but also they tended to get caught on fabric in my pocket. Another thing that the top/bottom took away from is the reflective surface of the metal right below the glass bezel, but above the actual top/bottom surfaces (that shiny "ring" that goes around the entire phone). I positioned them perfectly and you can still see it, but not as pronounced as without. I know that part is really inconsequential, but aesthetics are something to be factored in when making a decision on which skin, if any, to purchase.
I actually took off the top and bottom dbrand skins and left the back on like normal. Smoothed down just a bit more and the phone feels perfectly normal with no sharp edges. Looks better too imo. Kind of wished I got the black OP3T to help with the aesthetic point of view, but nothing that I would consider selling the gunmetal for at this point.

I got my Dbrand skin in leather for the body and camera, and carbon fiber for the top and bottom.
I'm very happy with the result.

Matte battery cover?

Hi guys,
I've seen the DIY project which is a pretty decent looking alternative but I was wondering if anyone has seen an actual Matte Battery Door yet? It'd be cool to have one like the Epic 4G's which still said Google on the back. (I think the Google looks oddly classy )
My searches have come up kinda empty so thought I'd ask.
Mini rant.... WHY?! WHY???! Is the back cover so prone to scratches.. it been only a week and a half or so and already I've seen scratches developing, in fact another happened just today.. it's really the one and only thing I don't like about it.. not sure what they were thinking..
Well if anybody has seen alternatives please let me know!
Thanks!
There is the Invisible shield Dry which is a matte back protector for it. It looks pretty sleek.

Plasti Dip it
you can get the invisibleshield dry from any of the sprint stores-- it's all they carry.
if you get the invisibleshield from ZAGG, they send the "wet" version, which is the cover everyone's used to.
the dry version is matte, and thinner, and doesn't use spray/sponge/liquid. it's not as "tacky" or sticky as the wet version, and you can still clearly see the google/samsung logo.
just be real sure to follow the instructions, squeegee from the center out, and give it a couple of days to fully cure. i saw a bunch of micro bubbles and what look like flaws after applications, and it looked like the dry shield didn't fully seal around the tiny dots on the cover, but after a couple of days it was perfectly sealed in. don't squeegee too hard, especially around the curves. it'll stick, and give it a day or two.
pretty happy with it, and it comes with the regular clear/tacky/sticky front shield, too, which is also applied dry. i found the squeegee to be a bit too stiff, and it's easy to dent and stretch the shield when squeegeeing it out.
ZAGG says to keep the device off, cuz the heat or something will affect curing. i just left mine on after application, and everything is perfect. there's orange peel, but it's minimal. no problems with touch sensitivity, and if anything i think it's better because fingerprints and oil don't show up.
i wonder if it's even worth shielding the front, though. i have an old blackberry that had nothing on it, and the screen i think is plastic, and i treated it like crap. no scratches.
but yeah, just go to a sprint store. they have em. best buy around here only sells the front shield. i prefer the dry matte back because it's thinner, and still does a good job.
fyi: ZAGG's guarantee and return policy are top notch. registering on their site is simple, and they'll ship out a replacement pretty quickly, and you just mail back your old shield as proof. they don't care what condition it's in. before i just ripped off an old shield and slapped it on a piece of paper.

Its Phantom Skins that sells it.....
So the Nexus S still doesn't have any third party back covers or battery doors? I can't stand the shiny plastic back. All I see on ebay are oem battery doors that are the same thing. Don't want to use a sticker/shield or dip.

Correct.
The white version of the Nexus S actually has a very nice textured back on it. I wanted the white color to begin with but after seeing (and feeling) the difference between the backplate on the black version versus the white version, I much prefer the white one. The black one has no grip to it and, like the OP said, it scratches way too easily.
Yeah I thought about the zagg body shield but they unfortunately only had the screen. I decided to grab the wet one instead and I've never had better luck applying a screen protector.. heh the "wetness" really makes it easy to get the bubbles out and it cures awesome.
As for the battery cover.. it's already got a few scratches, but on top of that in the lower left corner it doesn't seem to snap in very securely, even in general use when tapping on the lower left part of the phone you can feel the battery door.. "click" a little bit as if its not latched properly, it makes a audible click sound as well.
I resolved this issue by putting a very thin strip of scotch tape on the inside of the door along the edge which produces just enough pressure to keep the clicking from happening and it feels more secure. (No you can't see it )
SO I'll probably just buy a new battery door eventually and use a body shield.. hopefully the new one will latch a bit more securely as well. It's not a big big deal, and the DIY fix by me is definitely just me nitpicking the tiny click feeling but still.. I think Samsung makes good products most of the time but they really should step up the build quality a little bit.
Thanks for the suggestions though guys
Actually I think I'm going to try the plasti dip on the existing cover to.. I could see that helping the latch as well because it would be just the tiniest bit thicker it would seem.

Complete Ultra cases for Note II - color wish list :)

Ever since I heard good news that Note II will get Complete Ultra cases (from DBA cases) I have been hoping there would be a pink-black or pink silver combination. Silvers would do good too. The pinks could be more like fuchsia. So @Scott, I hope you see this. Everyone, post your desired colors for the Ultra cases. Happy wishing!
Here are the color combinations for the S3: http://www.dbacases.com/ultra-combinations.aspx
Would be pretty cool if we could get as many for Note II, come on folks, sign this petition .

We've had a hot pink in the S3 and the iPhone 5 which is coming up.
For the Note II there will be a Hot Pink TPU.
For the PC part of course we have to have white, black, titanium, and perhaps the same blue slate as the S3 which has been the most popular color.
There will be 5 to 6 PC colors and 6-7 TPU colors.
The curveball is that instead of blue they made one black.
I need to find a combo that goes well with the titanium and the white. The titanium will be harder since it's metallic.
I think a Titanium PC with a Black TPU would look the best.

I actually think it looks quite cool. The only bit of my note II which is scratched is the rim and a bumper would protect that pretty well without having to cover the entire back of the phone, and look good at the same time.
Ads and thread hijacking aren't cool though :/
Edit: oh my goodness that's expensive. No way I'd ever pay that much. Gonna report this guy because every post he makes seems to be advertising his overpriced bumpers.

I just hate anything shiny on my phone. Especially the gold.
Since it's only a bumper and metal I don't see the point. It's going to be slippery.
I considered making bumpers when I started my company but the demand just wasn't there and the cost was too much. But mine would have been for grip.

Hmm. I guess if it was slippery, that'd be a deal breaker. Metal doesn't have to be slippery though. All depends on the finish.
And I agree that the shiny gold is bad, but there's an all black version that looks pretty cool. And an addition to protecting the sides from scratches (which I think it would do very well), I think it'd probably provide a decent amount of drop protection compared to having no case, at least reducing the chances of the screen shattering from the phone landing on a corner.
But like I said, it's way too expensive as it is. And I know there's cheap ones on eBay, but they're much uglier than this version.

Actually I think it wouldn't provide any drop protection. In fact it may make it worse. It's metal which makes the phone heavier. To have any drop protection you need a material that will flex on impact or cushion.
This does neither.
But everyone has different tastes. That's why there is such a great variety of cases.
If I had to have metal I'd want brushed titanium.

Maybe that's a valid point. However, bumpers do tend to have a little bit of cushioning on the inside.
What I was suggesting was that the impact would have further to travel before reaching the screen and so would dissipate slightly, especially as the bumper is much thicker than a regular case. Not all the energy would reach the phone's screen like it would if dropped naked.
Also, metals aren't as hard as you make out. Theyre malleable, not brittle like hard plastic. They have the ability to bend and dent, and surely if dropped they would do this, again lessening the impact on the phone? Maybe a soft TPU or silicone case of the same thickness would be better in terms of drop protection, but wouldn't that look ridiculous?

Im getting pictures of the first cases from the mold tonight.
They will also be tested by my people in China.
If they are done right the first time (never happens) then it could be just a week or two.
However this is a new factory for us and they have been very fast. The sooner the better.
So for the PC
Blue Slate
Titanium
White
Black
and I need one more - it should be a brighter color. What do you think of a green emerald color? Or Violet?
For the TPU
Hot Pink
White
Black
and three others. Maybe Royal Blue, Candy Red, Lime...
How about orange for a bright pc color.

Superb. I hope it will be so good and successful as the edition for Galaxy S III.
Is this possible to order or pre-order Complete Ultra case for Note II + Just Like Glass TM Screen Protector for Note II with combined international shipment (both in one package) and with today discount $6.49 (32 %) for Just Like Glass TM Screen Protector for Note II ? Could you estimate the price for Complete Ultra cases for Note II ?
Some peoples use Seidio Active holsters with third party cases (Otterbox Commuter or Balistic Shell Gel (SG). Could you estimate if Complete Ultra case for Note II could fit Seidio Active holster for Note II or do you plan to provide any own holster for this case ?
Did these DBA Ultra cases ever get released for the Note 2? Looked promising...

I don't know about using clear please let me know.
Scott, in general what makes these cases standout or better from any other dual layer (silicone inner shell, plastic outer shell - ebay or brand name) cases? Here is your chance to do a sales pitch or others to jump in with testimonials
I have been going a little case-crazy lately (addiction perhaps? lol!!!), went through a bunch of ebay cheapo stuff, now moved on to brand names. I see clearly you offer a very flexible selection of color choices/combos that's probably a big selling point of it, but anything else that makes it stand out in comparison to others before I consider adding it to my growing collection?
Thank you Scott for taking your time to walk us through the manufacturing process. I personally enjoyed this read very much!!!

No problem. As you can tell I'm a bit OCD about it :silly:
I try to learn everything I possibly can so the final product comes out the way I want. Even so it's a constant job dealing with so many manufacturers. You would think I could hand the S3 case to them and say "make a Note II just like this" since they are nearly identical phones (except for size).
Unfortunately that's not how it works...
Scott
Hey Scott,
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere but I love the idea of the Thin Case Grips. Will that be an option for the Ultra cases? I hate it when a case feels real nice but it's so smooth with no grip that it's easy to just slip out of your hand

BestSkinsEver for LG G2

I hope this isn't a duplicate post. I've been looking for a matte skin for the LG G2 to remove the glossy plasticky GS4 feel of the phone. I saw that BSE do a matte body protector so I ordered one. I'm out of the US so it will take a while to get to me. Anyone have experience with the matte finish covers that BSE provides not just for the G2 but other phones too? Anyways I'm excited about this as the glossy back is the only thing I dislike about the LG G2.

please take pictures when you get it, and i hope you do not have a verizon G2..
NOTE: The VERIZON LG G2 has different buttons on the back and we do not yet have a cover for it. We hope to have make it available very soon.
I ordered one as well. It should be here tomorrow. I will take pics after I put it on. I have the AT&T G2.
Zagg's Invisible Shield dry application also has a matte back.
I just applied the matte Best Skins Ever to the back of my G2. So a few things...
The skin almost fits the back perfectly, covering the entire back panel. Because of this, it was pretty tricky getting the corners and edges on. So work your way from center to the edge as usual, then press and hold the edge/corner down with your fingers. I worked my way from the top of the phone to the bottom, using a 10 count before moving to the next spot. I've heard people with similar skins have used an iron on the corners. At this point, I don't think it's necessary for this one. We'll see tomorrow.
So remember, patience is your friend with this one. When you first put it on, it won't look like it will work (I was in "wtf" mode for a moment before giving it some thought). But go slow and apply pressure carefully on those pesky edges and corners.
Looks and feels great so far. Adds a bit of grippiness to it with no visible fingerprints. I also have the matte skin for the front, along with a spare glossy one just in case I hate the matte one. I'll report back after the bonding stage has passed.
edit:
After a few hours of waiting, turns out the bottom corners of the back skin was slightly misaligned, causing the bottom right corner to have a tiny piece that won't stay down. The holes were pretty much lined up, so I'm not sure if it was a user error or manufacturing error. What I ended up doing is using a hot iron to singe the corner (no more than 1-2 seconds at a time). It works like a charm. I applied the same method to the other corners just to be safe, even though they seemed like they were staying down fine.
The front matte skin isn't very appealing to me. I was afraid it would affect the quality of the image too much like most matte/anti-glare skins. I guess I was hoping it would be better than that. I was wrong. Color and dark images look fine for the most part. While viewing bright images however, the shimmery effect is a bit much. I'm a very visual person, so this bothers me a lot. I'll probably keep it on for another day or two. But ultimately, I'm going to switch to the glossy skin.

I'm a very visual person, so this bothers me way too much. I'll probably keep it on for another day or two. But ultimately, I'm going to switch to the glossy skin.

Haha... I'll try to find my old camera. Right now, my G2 is my main camera. (I know... that's not ideal. But the pictures are pretty good on phones now and I'm not really that big into photography.)

I'm curious because I am looking for a good matte skin that covers the entirety of the back of the phone. I also want a screen protector that maintains the smooth feel of the edges of the screen that are rolled over.
Yes, please post pictures! I want to buy this skin, but just want to double check first. If you can't find a camera, just take a picture in the mirror, haha.
Thanks!
check out the Zagg's Invisible Shield dry application...that too is matte.....

This is my brief review of this case.
First the Good: Overall this case is pretty nice. The grooved back provides nice grip. The cutouts all line up really well. There is some nice attention to detail in the form of the case in that there is a little dip down on the bottom lip of the case flattening the area near the home button to make it easier to lay your finger on the home button for finger print reading.
There is also a nice depression in the case near the heart rate sensor on the back of the case as well to make reading the finger easier.
The case should provide some overall solid drop protection. There is a slight lip on the front that comes up above the glass, even with a glass screen protector on the phone, allowing for a lay on the table design, if you do such things. (I don't)
The buttons for volume and power are easy to press and responsive. Not as clicky as I would like them to be, but they are responsive.
Things I don't like: The color. In the pictures online on Amazon, and even here on other threads, the red of this particular case looks much more deep and vibrant. In reality, it is a lighter red color. Also, the gold trim seems a bit cheap looking. I don't really know how to describe it other than that though. I was hoping for an Iron Man theme here, but not so much. The one thing that really bugs me is the molding line that runs around the perimeter of the case. This is something that really bugs me when they manufacture cases like this. They need to make sure the mold line or injection point is hidden or smoothed out as best as possible. In this case (no pun intended) they didn't meet this criteria.
Overall though, this is a pretty decent case for the price. Provides good protection without adding a lot of bulk. Probably would look good in the red/black version, or the black/gold version. I don't really like the color combo I got though. Adds nice grip to the phone too. 7/10 in all.
Thanks for the pics! I got the gold black and have a video here
ONE thing that I do like is that their plastic shell is pliable. I've had spigen cases where the plastic is too rigid and it cracks. It was an absolute pain to try to get Spigen to honor their warranty on those.
I have the black and gold one also. I hate how the s-pen cut out pokes at my palms. Really uncomfortable to hold. It looks good, but feels cheap. Getting the phone in and out is super easy which is nice.

Dude, thank you for the suggestion .
When we designed this case , we thought a lot about the Spen Cut out .
What would people want for a case ? First of all , the functional .
We made 5 different design for the S - Pen , but due to make it easy to grab the S-Pen , we make it a little bit bigger . At least , it will allow our users to easy access to the S - Pen
But you did make a very good point , i will thing about it for next time design .
About the cheap looking ,i have to say this case actually wins a lots comments on the trading show Canada .We used the premium Tpu , which is environment - Friendly .The case has been polished twice , make sure it will be comfortable to hold and the color will be more gentle .
Anyway , we will do our best to improve our design , and choose better materials to make a better product in future
Please contact us on Facebook /artech21
we would like you to have another case to review , as you are an awesome reviewer .
Best regards

Dude , i am really sorry for that .
We tried 3 different colors for the Red , and we also try to 3 for the golden .
I am a huge fan of Iron MAN , but the metallic brightness of the armor can not be done on my product . Unless i am going to design a Steel Version Case
But the cost of the case , and the concept of mine will be tortured .
Trust me , this is the best combo i could find .
You did make a very good review , and i love your photos .
If you want to buy a new case from us , please use coupon " artech21"
that gonna make you get extra 10% off
P.S. We did not design a decent case , which we should . I just want customers focus on the case itself , and try to balance the price among : design , quality ,materials and more .
I am just a normal guy from Mcgehee AR . I am just normal 'Merican who loves gadget
Thank you for your suggestion , i will go to the manufactory tomorrow find a better color ,so we can have a real Iron MAN
It is a disaster that staying China to make sure everything go smooth .
Anyway , i just try to do my best to provide better products with a reasonable price for People Like me .
Thank you for your review , let me know if you have any problem

Yes, I totally agree with you there. Noticed that as well. It makes it easy to put the case on and off the phone for sure.

So I recieved my case as well and feel the same as the other reviewer. It's a good case, just not as polished as I'm used to. The blue is awesome, I just wish the other part was silver instead of gold. There is not any gold on the majority of the note 5 versions. The seam running around the entire case is very unattractive. It's a good case that will go in my normal rotation, but it's more of a weekend case, not a daily driver.

Too bad they didn't go with a silver color, rather then the gold... not sure why they'd choose gold.
Also, as others have mentioned, it would be nice if the seam wasn't visible.
Waiting for mine to arrive..... for the price, it seems like a good case, though.
Well, today I just received the black and gold case. I actually really like the colors as the gold seems to be more of an ole' gold color and not a fake gold nugget type of color. Below are my pros and con's:
Pro's:
- Color ...really like the black and gold combination
- case can be pulled apart to help clean any dust or anything that gets into the crevices
- durability ...the inside of the case is a tough plastic but still soft enough not to scratch the sides of the phone; while the outside is a soft plastic that feels good in the hands
- curves the case actually mimics the curves of the note 5 therefore fitting naturally in the hand
- spen opening I actually enjoy it being wider due to the size of my hands
Cons:
- thickness, when compared to my tech 21 slim case this case was just to thick for my personal taste.

We are appreciate for your review .
and compared to Tech 21 , We still have a long long way to go .They do have very good materials plus shockproof technology .But they charge too much for the case . We are just starting in private label product , as we know , if we can product 100000 cases , the manufactory has no problem to make an exactly the same materials product , And the price will be 1/2 theirs. Even that , we still can make a good money .
We admit that we need to improve both design and the production (like , materials ,polish ) , we are just nothing different .
but we hope our design can be attractive , and the protection is good enough .
BTW , can you please also make an amazon review ?

Yes there is a gold version of the phone, but both the black and white versions have silver hardware. Maybe it's just me, but I hate having silver earpiece/home button/camera /flash with a gold case. Just seems wrong. Would have been nice to have a silver or black version.
I received my case in the mail yesterday. I ordered the red one and I personally like the shade of red that they went, but I would of liked to see the trim color black instead of gold. The case on the phone feels solid and like it would protect from some minor drops. There is also a slight lip on the front so when setting your phone face down the screen will not touch. Overall I am a fan of this case and would definitely recommend it. I just hope they make an option where the trim is black.
Edit: don't have any good pics of my phone in the case. Will have to try and take some more tomorrow

I got my case in the mail yesterday. Full disclosure: I recieved it as a free promo, on the condition that I review it. I am not the type to give a positive review to a product I don't care for, as this post shows: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62637305&postcount=73
OK, here we go. Case looks good. Not a big fan of gold, but it's not really that important to me. I get why others are saying that the plastic is kind of cheap looking and has a visible seam. But that's only when inspected really closely. From a normal, reasonable distance (like that of everyday use), it looks just fine. I even got a couple of compliments on the case today, and I wasn't even showing it to anyone, juat taking it out of or putting it back into my pocket. It has a very modern, almost high-tech look that is admittedly somewhat cheapened by the gold plastic, but that is quickly gotten over. The rubber back has a nice ridged texture, which feels pleasant and grippy in the hand.
It's kind of hard to talk about function or form independent from each other with this case. It seems like a lot of thought went into both aspects during design, as well as how they could compliment each other. For example, the case is slim and adds no appreciable bulk. It also has curved sides that hug the contours of the phone better than my Otterbox Commuter did. I like the Commuter a lot, but between the non-slippery ridged rubber back, the curved edges and the overall thinness of the Artech, it just feels better in the hand. Its more comfortable to hold and I feel like I have a better grip on it. The slim profile of the case makes it very comfortable in a pocket as well.
The phone pops into the case in a single piece. It went in easily, but there are instructions in case you need them. I was a little worried that it might pop out as easily as it popped in. But after slamming the phone hard against my palm several times, it didn't budge. Even when I cupped my palm in an effort to put more stress on the side of the case to purposely get it to pop out. It has a nice, snug fit. There is a nice raised lip around the screen, even with a tempered glass screen protector.
As another poster noted, there is a nice bezel next to the heart rate monitor on the back of the phone that makes it easy to reach. But overall, the camera hole is smaller than my other case. So I feel that the Artech offers better camera protection without interfering with function. This same type of design is noticeable below the home button, where the lip of the case flattens out for more comfortable access. It is obvious that some thought went into this design.
Despite the back being ridged rubber that hugs the palm, the fact that there are a couple of ever so slightly raised plastic parts on the back means that this effect is, regrettably not useful on a table or other flat surface. It feels a little like a missed opportunity, but not a deal breaker.
The buttons and all of the holes for the various ports line up perfectly. The battery and headphone jacks are exposed, which I don't necessarily like, but can live with. There is a rather large opening for the s pen, but flat surfaces will touch both sides of the case without coming into contact with that part of the device. Further proof that there is a deliberate and thoughtful design here.
The rubber on the back and on the inside of the case seems kind of thin, but is a bit nore rigid than my other case. The power and volume buttons are responsive and soft. They are not very "clicky", of that kind of thing is important to you. It is not important to me, and I like the feel of these buttons.
A good 3/4 of the back is the aforementioned ridged rubber. I'm not sure how much protection it would really offer in the event of a decent drop. Again, I am conparing it to the Otterbox Commuter, which has a plastic over rubber back. One way to find out, which I don't plan on trying anytime soon. But it seems solid enough. There is some ridged pattern on the inside of the case, but I don't know if that is decorative or not. It's not symmetrical, so I think it probably is. In any event, the slightly raised plastic bits on the back look like they would prevent the back of the phone from actually coming into contact with the ground (covered in rubber or no) as the result of a flat drop. But that is just speculation on my part.
In conclusion, i would say that this is a very nice case, a few minor quibbles aside. It's got a nice blend of form and function not often seen in phone cases. It looks and feels good, and the functionality is excellent in my opinion.
For the asking price (I got it free, but you know what I mean), it is definitely nice. I only buy Otterboxes because I get them at a significant discount which puts them in the same price range as the Artech. So if I had to buy one or the other of these, it would be hard to choose (unless the Commuter was full price, in which case it would be Artech hands down because it is a good case and also I'm a tightwad). The Artech looks and especially feels way better, is easier to hold securely, and very comfortable. As far as protection, both seem comparable, but I would give a slight to moderate edge to the Otterbox commuter because of the covered ports and plastic over rubber back. But, make no mistake: the Artech Slim Stylish case seems to offer good, solid phone protection. And I'm in no hurry to go back to my other case. I'm gonna go ahead and use this one for a while.
I would definitely recommend this case to anyone looking for a sleek, yet protective case that feels good to hold.
I have gotten the case recently as well. I will say that it does seem that it would have good protection in a drop and it does allow you to place the phone face down which is a good thing do to the raised lip. As has been stated before the lines in the case from the molding injection is a bit of an annoyance but not something that is really uncommon. The buttons could use a little bit better feeling, they are not very clicky I suppose I would say.
The Cutout for the S-Pen is decent, I do like that you left space for people who have issues actually getting the S-Pen out in the first place do to either really short nails or biting nails all the time, although it could use some rounding of the edges a bit to avoid hurting the hands when holding it, even though I am unsure how people have that issue.
Also it doesn't add too much bulk to the phone either which is a bonus considering the Note series are large phones to begin with.
Overall though, I would say for me personally 8/10.

I received mine like last week and just left a review on Amazon here https://www.amazon.com/review/R10P6O02RMUNTU/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0130A2E9G
As with past Artech products, their cases are made of top notch materials. With the first touch of the rubber material, you can instantly feel the quality and know that it will protect your device from shock or light drops. The case has an extremely simple design, but this is not to say that the case is boring. In fact, there is quite a bit going on with the contrast color of light gold or silver. It is also important to mention at this time that the contrast color is not aluminium, since it appears to be quite similar from pictures. The rubber from this trim should also provide significant protection while keeping the phone case thin.
As usual, the cut outs are all here.
Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

DBrand Carbon Fibre Skin Review for the OnePlus 3!

Hello everyone. This is my review of the Carbon Fibre Skin for the OnePlus 3 from DBrand. The OnePlus 3 as you all know, is a very slippery phone and hence, I opted for a skin. I went with the Red/Black Carbon Fibre Combo from dbrand. They have a lot of options available on their website and I have been using this skin on my OP3 from the past 1 and a half month. So how is it? Well, here's my review! Please watch it and if you have any questions about the skin, let me know in this thread. Thanks
I have a dbrand set coming tomorrow. Hyperblack titanium and purple. Can't wait to see how it looks. I'm one of those "case haters" ... but I almost feel the need to use one with the OP3. But it just feels so nice without one ... slippery as heck, but nice. I'll try to post some pics when I'm done!

Sure will. I ordered the hyper black for the Axon 7 before I cancelled my pre order, so I know how kick ass it looks. I'm mostly wondering what the purple caps are going to look like with it. ?
Can you guys post some scans of that skins? Preferably with some measurements so we can create custom skins
Let me understand something, if I use a dbrand skin will this protect my phone from drops?...or is just for cosmetic look?.
The skins will offer SOME protection. Scuffs and scrapes basically. They won't give you much in the way of drop protection like a case will. They also add a bit of texture, which can improve the grip in your hand.
I just got mine at the office, so tonight will be installation night. Attached a couple of pics of my hyperblack titanium and purple combo. Can't wait to see this on the phone! It's also nice that they include the full wrap and open ended options - so you can do different colours top and bottom, and choose whether or not you want the edges wrapped on the top and bottom. I like options - that's why I like the OnePlus!
Good review.
For those that want grip only...
I suggest using a bestskinever body cover in glossy.
It literally feel like using a TPU clear case but thin like screen cover.
Well, here it is! The body is the hyperblack titanium, the upper/lower is their purple. I think the corners worked out alright, but they are the tricky part of the whole thing. I love the look of it! I was a bit worried that the purple would be a little more intense, but it's on the darker side, and subtle, as I was hoping. I'm loving it!

Ha! Didn't really see it like that when I posted the pic. That corner actually has a light reflection from the shiny silver bevel around the touchpad on my laptop there.
I did end up with one of the top corners I wasn't totally happy with by the next morning, so I peeled it back, re-heated it, and re-applied that corner. Did much better the second time.

I guarantee there is nothing loose about any of the corners of the skin. It was actually one of my concerns, around the antenna bands, because that's a relatively high friction point when it's going into and out of my pocket. But it's holding up very well. No issues at all with the fit or hold.
Two questions.
1. Global question, will it leave any kind of ugly glue when we change our mind and removed it ?
2. National question, any one ordered from India ?

I can only answer point 1.
I used Dbrand on my S7 edge for close to 4 months and had to remove it as I smashed my screen :crying:... anyway, answer is no, it's a pretty clean remove with no adhesive left behind. A soft and swift wipe on my t shirt and the phone looks new again... Except for the cracks :crying::crying:
