Losing mobile data connection - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, for some reason my Z3 compact keeps losing it's mobile data connection. Restarting the phone doesn't bring it back on and the only way I can find to get connection again is to change preferred network type from 4g to 3g then back again but as soon as I use a wifi connection again I get the same problem. I'm running the official Sony concept for M rom. thanks for any help you can give me.

in developer options there is a setting for "Cellular data always active", it might help, but the root cause is just that cell signal is too poor in your home area.
hope this helps.

Loose 3g data when Wifi is enabled with CM6.RC1

There have been a few discussions about this, but I have yet to find a solution that works for me...
I flashed CM6 today and now I'm finding that when I enable wifi, my 3g data connection is lost. Not sure this is really a CM problem, I just want to find a fix.
My setup:
Nexus One - CM6.RC1 - FRF91

what do you mean it's lost.. when you're turning Wifi on, that's the whole point (that you want to use your Wifi connection for data, and not your mobile 3G data.) Maybe I'm not understanding you?

Even with wifi on you still need 3g data to send and receive MMS. I can't replicate this problem, though, so I'm afraid I'm not much help. All I can suggest is trying a full wipe of everything but battery and rotate stats and try to flash it again. See if that helps.
It works fine for me. Are you sure you are confussing not having both icons in the notification bar with 3g being off?
I answered this question a few months ago too.
Your 3g is not lost, it just hides the icon. Go into settings and look what network you are still connected to for yourself, it will still say 3g. If you were to send or receive an mms the 3g icon would briefly pop up, send the message, then disappear. Your phone is working just fine
thanks for the help... @roger, you are correct, i didn't realize that the icon was hidden vs. actually turned off, nor did i think to go check the actual service rather than rely on the icon

Mobile Internet Problem!?

Hello, i have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S. When i close the Mobile Connecrions and select use only 2G it still using "E" i belive its Edge still have a connection to the internet!!!
How i can close all the internet connections and use only the Wi-Fi?
Unselect 2g aswell?
2G and Edge is the same radio, when your 2G is not using data, it drops to Edge to standby until you engage onto 2G, 3G, HDPA, etc
if you want it all off, then uncheck everything, and use only wifi
i suppose you did not buy a Data Plan?
if that is the case, most carriers will throw and error back to your phone, about "there's no internet conectivity" or some other related merror message
you have to call your carrier to dissable it, else if you use data, they will charge you on a per use rate, which usually is stupidly expensive.
here what i do and have no answer?! when i uncheck everithing it's the same still getting online :S
here what i`m doing
Settings/Wireless and networks/Mobile Networks nothing is checked and same :S i`m still online. When is Unchecked 2G is HSCD or something? still online :S is there some software to cancel all connections to internet.
you can try plane mode
but that will also stop WiFi
by the way this topic should be in "Galaxy S I9000 General" not in Development section

[Q] Unable to acquire HSDPA data connection after WiFi disconnection

My beloved N1 has recently started to develop this problem. It doesn't matter if it's on 2.3 or 4.04 ROM. After wifi connection is closed, the phone was unable to automatically switch to HSDPA data connection.
No amount of toggling 3G data or WiFi will fix this problem. I have to take the phone into airplane mode and out before I can start HSDPA data. While this problem only happens occasionally, the frequency has gradually climbed. Could this be hardware related?
try going into setting >> wireless & network >> mobile networks make sure your outside because that way it pick up the towers =) and if that doent work then try FULL WIPE & REINSTALL ROM if it continues then it might be a hardware issue then my friend your really in a pickle

[Q] Howto use wifi only when the connection is good

Wifi at my university is not really stable, especially when I'm between buildings. That is of course the time that I would most commonly use to quickly reply to a text. Now, I'd have to disable my wifi and enable it again afterwards.
My old Samsung device had an option to automatically fall back to mobile data when the wifi connection is bad. Is there a similar option with the Z3C, or another way to do it?
Thanks!

Modify internal system setting

Hi, i have a sprint note 5 with a deodexed rom , rooted, custom kernel. I have sprint lte and im trying to use my hotspot. It is very annoying when i get a phone call or data lte resets and the hotspot says "no data connection disabling hotspot" what can i do to keep the hotspot from shutting down if the data connection gets lost for a few seconds. Where at can i access these settings in the programming and change them. I freaking hate it. My s5 would keep the hotspot active if i was on the phone. Im not trying to get hotspot and voice at same time. Im trying to get the hotspot broadcast active on event of data connection lost, thankyou
Really no one knows? I mean this is a basic understanding of the os
