Hi, i have a sprint note 5 with a deodexed rom , rooted, custom kernel. I have sprint lte and im trying to use my hotspot. It is very annoying when i get a phone call or data lte resets and the hotspot says "no data connection disabling hotspot" what can i do to keep the hotspot from shutting down if the data connection gets lost for a few seconds. Where at can i access these settings in the programming and change them. I freaking hate it. My s5 would keep the hotspot active if i was on the phone. Im not trying to get hotspot and voice at same time. Im trying to get the hotspot broadcast active on event of data connection lost, thankyou
Really no one knows? I mean this is a basic understanding of the os

I just purchased and an HTC Hero off ebay.
First off i do not have it activated with sprint! All data services but WI-FI are off. I can browse the web.
I am trying to sing in to my Google account but it comes up with two different errors
1.Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server
This error come up the most 95% of the time
2. you do not have a network connection
it says im not connected to the net but when i hit wi-fi im connected to my router
dose the wi-fi chip time out or something when the screen turns off?
also Im just getting started with android so forgive if i make some mistakes.
also is there any way to force all data to be sent through wi-fi?
im assuming because its android i can just root it and put a file or something to only use wi-fi as its main source of data. My plan with this phone (because i cant afford a 70$ a month data plan) is to use it like an ipod touch
HTC Hero Info
Firmware version 2.1-update1
Software number 2.27.6516
not rooted
Figured it out!
Apparently its a glitch with Google, if you don't activate your account the first time you cant activate one at all. The solution is to hard reset the phone and if that dose not work. Google "android cannot maintain a reliable connection"
So I was trying out the Wi-Fi hotspot in CM 6.0N1 for the first time...and that worked fine...and I was pretty happy about that.
But after I disabled it. I can no longer get a 3G/E data connection anymore on my phone. I made sure to check that "Data enabled" had a checkmark in the settings.
I then restored a backup...and that didn't fix my data connection issues.
I also tried to do a Wi-Fi hotspot again, and that no longer works.
I am, however, still able to just connect via Wifi...
Does anyone know if there are any other settings or steps I should do in order to get my phone's data connection going again on 3G/E ?
Thanks...
Its a T-Mobile Outage. No fault on you.
Ah. Okay. Thanks for the info...
And here I was wondering what I had done to screw up my data connection...
What timing on T-Mobile's part
Hey there,
I'm a T-mobile customer with the refer a friend unlimited plan. When I try to set up a wifi hotspot, the notification remains asking to set up the hotspot. My devices can see the phone, but get stuck in limbo when trying to connect. I'm on stock 5.0.1, rooted, with TWRP. I see no check for subscription or anything coming up like some other users have had. In short, wifi on the phone is visible but devices can't complete connection, set up hotspot notification always present when on.
So I've been trying really hard lately to get wifi tether working on my
SPRINT m7
With Android 4.4.3
Running Viper ROM
But I just can't seem to do it.
Native tether app is unblocked in Viper, but it seems as if Sprint got a lot smarter the beginning of last year because that's when my problems began. The native one starts up, tethers LTE just fine, but after ten minutes (almost exactly) it will disable my LTE completely (only full reboot restores it) and cut off the data throughput over the tether connection. I still have use of 3g on the phone.
If I continue to tether cycle (tether, disconnect, reboot, tether, etc) the ten minute window shrinks to 60-90 seconds. Eventually I will have LTE lockout ranging from minutes to hours (even after reboot. Lte radio disabled in diagnostic), and 3g disabled. Only allows me to run on 1x.
Neddless to say i need an alternative. I have tried every possible configuration of TrevE mod with no success. It just hangs at "starting tethering" and never does anything. But i did get an app called Wifi Tether Router on a suggestion.
This is most promising. I can get that one to start up. Even accurately displays the data coming inand out. Only problem is it won't actually enable the wifi. No broadcast at all.
Has anyone had success with this on sprint m7? I've seen lots of talk about it on tmobile and verizon networks with LGs and Samsungs and one or two references to verizon m8s but nothing about sprint or working with m7.
Hi everyone, for some reason my Z3 compact keeps losing it's mobile data connection. Restarting the phone doesn't bring it back on and the only way I can find to get connection again is to change preferred network type from 4g to 3g then back again but as soon as I use a wifi connection again I get the same problem. I'm running the official Sony concept for M rom. thanks for any help you can give me.
in developer options there is a setting for "Cellular data always active", it might help, but the root cause is just that cell signal is too poor in your home area.
hope this helps.
