WSOD! Help!!

My tilt is acting very nasty lately. Over the past few weeks, I noticed that when I turned on the display, occasionally I would get something that looked like the static that you see on TV, but with colors. I would just turn off the screen, and turn it back on to clear it.
Now it's gotten worst! 98% of the time, it intermitantly gives me a blank solid white screen when I turn it on. Occasionally I can just turn to screen off, and on to reset it.
I'm running OEM WM6.1, and I've tried to reinstall the OS, but it didn't help. My phone has taken a beating, and the top corner has had a small crack in it over the past 2 months, but it didn't effect the touch screen, or picture. I also took off the cover to make sure the cables were all snug, and it didn't help.
Any suggestions?

Something got corrupted. If you search WIKI, it's call the 3 color screen stuck .. and you're better off posting at thread below. I hope someone can give you help (if you follow those steps and still no good)

Oh, believe me.. I'm not one to turn to the forums without doing research myself! All the research I was coming up with seemed to point to a slightly different WSOD though. I think you are right about the screen being broken. I've reinstalled the software, and it acts up even when booting up!
Unfortunately, I'm not impressed with ANYTHING on the market to date! If I'm unable to fix this, I'll just go back to a RAZR until the next gen WM7 phones come out. (With a tilt screen of course!!)

Oh, and even though the screen goes white, it's not stuck, as it fully boots up; I can hear sounds, and even activate the touch screen.
Also, I forgot to mention.. the first problem I started experiencing was that my tilt would go back from landscape mode! It was like the video board was crapping out. I could even see a slight flicker in the display from the refresh rate.

[Q] Problems coming out of sleep mode

So within the last two days I have been having problems with my phone coming out of sleep mode, just to give a little more information when i hit the power button to turn the screen on and go to unlock it, the screen doesn't respond and fades back out. The task bar stays on at the top for about 10 seconds as well. SOMEONE please help lol. I've only had this phone for about a week and this is very frustrating. (phone is rooted btw)

If you're having touchscreen malfunctions, then you should exchange it. You've had it one week, you can do that. I will say though, the screen timeout for the lock screen is 5 seconds long. As in, when I wake my phone if I don't touch it, five seconds later it fades out again. It sounds like you're having more serious issues however mentioning the notification bar staying on the screen like that. I recommend you look into exchanging it. Make sure you restore it and unroot it before you do that.

I was just wondering if anyone had these issues, it didn't appear to do it the first couple days I had it, and I've installed a ton of apps since then. I un-installed some things today and it seems to have subsided, i'm still wondering if anyone else has had problems like this. It may have had to do with a task manager, but i can't be sure. Any insight is appreciated.

[Q] Dead/Black Screen after installing CM 12.1

Hi!
I've installed the CM 12.1 by downloading and following the instructions from the CM wiki page for Moto G 2014, and also by reading threads from XDA. Now I've been using this for the last 2 weeks and this is happening once after every 3-4 calls. Whenever I get a call the whole screen turns black and doesn't respond :/
I've a LG G Watch as my android wear, so I use that to receive the call. After the call gets over, the screen is still unresponsive and I've to restart the phone by holding the power button.
I'm updated to the latest nightly. How do I solve this issue? Any help is appreciated.

This dead screen issue is still not fixed. The screen still dies after a few days of use. And it feels like the backlight of the screen turns off because all of the features of the phone still work. I've to restart the phone to turn the screen on again.

Try different ROM remember clean flash

I might have the same problem. I can see the phone is recognized by the computer and the adb command "adb devices" shows it. I also hear the sounds produced by raising the volume buttons. Rebooting it won't bring the screen on. Any idea how to fix it?
EDIT: I Noticed that flashing strong light on it shows the screen a bit. Managed to turn of the live display option and crank the brightness setting to the max like many suggested. No change. Also updated ROM to latest CM12.1 (20150831) tried flashing a strong light into the front camera/sensor and using adb to set the brightness to 200. Still no change
The odd thing that makes me 90% certain this is some kind of hardware failure is that the dark screen persists on recovery and bootloader screens, not just system.

I have same issue, screen not waken up when call comes but just pressing power button shows screen for me

**HELP**Lock button permanently locks

I have a strange problem, well a few. If I lock my phone (C6903) using the physical button I can't unlock it again. I try for about 5-10 minutes sometimes and it just wont work. If I hold it down I can feel it vibrate as if it's bringing up the power menu but the screen just stays black. Eventually it will randomly wake up then I can play around as normal. If I leave it to lock itself I can unlock every time, fist time no worries. This is what pointed me to it being a SW problem rather than a hardware problem.
I also noticed that when I do have the screen turning off in the dark, I can see that the screen is still lit up! Just it is black, not completely asleep. It's really quite bright when I have it next to the bed. Also when I am outside I can't see the screen at all really, even with the brightness turned right up.
It's really strange all these happened about the same time. I figured maybe it was a ROM problem and a fresh install of stock ROM would help. Tried it and at first most of these problems went, just the fact I still couldn't really see the screen in the sun. I tried another ROM and at first was just the same but then these problems started again.
Has anyone had any or all of these problems or got any ideas what it could be? I am left thinking now that the problem is more likely hardware related as the problems are so sporadic and happen whatever I have installed.
Any help / suggestions would be appreciated but I have the feeling I will have to just admit the phone is dogged

You say that most of the problems desapararecen to install a new ROM, it is likely that installing something extra to be the cause, I was introduced me something similar with Expoxed Notifications Module.
Try a clean installation without installing test applications to determine if the problem recurs.

Thanks, yes I guess I will try that, bit of a pain having to reinstall apps after every install and restoring messages etc so I might just put up for now.
I also have realised that the screen not turning on and the screen staying on but black happen at different times. i.e. I can now randomly turn the screen on and off no problem (don't think I have installed or deleted any apps or changed anything), but the screen stays awake when off. When I was last not able to turn the screen back on after turning off the screen actually went to sleep. Very strange

The Hardest Problem: Home screen glitch-only

Hey guys!
So I'll put a video of my cellphone and how the problem looks like right below.
Last week I installed a few apps from Play Store for studying and after a while the phone screen started to behave with a glitch: It started to flash some vertical lines and sometimes parts of the screen are placed in other places. If I touch the screen where an icon used to be but due to the glitch it is in another place of the screen the app opens normally. Like this glitch is more about an illusion. Sometimes the whole screen can go black or white and then it turns off. Sometimes the colour scheme is inverted. (In the video you can see itbetter)
When I try to turn on the screen again by pushing the Power Button the screen can blink quickly so I can't unlock it.
I saw a lot of things on internet but actually nothing really helped me. I suspected that it was a kind of virus but I changed the ROM 3 times (flashing Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android 4.4 KitKat) and the problem still haunts me. When I'm setting the cellphone up the screen is OK and everytime I can open an app this glitch stops. (As you can see in the video) But when I go to the home screen this glitch starts immediatly.
I've heard that it has to do with the battery or it is a hardware problem. But I don't know why this problem only happens in the home screen. On fastboot screen the screen is OK too.
I'm trying this forum really hoping that someone appears with the solution. Thank you so much!
