Lowest version - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to all.
I would like to know which lowest version of a system is possible to use in S3 mini (amg4)? Can i go below ICS? On my previous phone(Xperia arc s) i've had Atomic GB, now, on S3m i have stock, rooted JB 4.1.2 and it is pretty annoying.
Thanks in advance.

lowest Android version? On this device there was never GB or ICS so JB is the lowest version.

[Q] GB, ICS, or JB?

I just got a Galaxy S and am surprised to see so many JB roms available.
I would probably switch over to this phone from my Xperia S, just to use Voodoo Sound
My question is, is JB roms currently stable enough compared to ICS or GB?
Please provide feedback only if you've tried all three versions before :silly:
Yes jb is good i have tried most roms and i blv super nexus rom is very good .. But u cant customize it.. Try it your self ...
Sent from my GT-I9000
Yup, JB is very stable. Personally Liquidsmooth or RemICS-JB are fantastic.

Dear,
I am developing only the FlymeOS for i9000 at now ; soon i will developing a Custom Rom with 4.0.4 base...
You can really forget JB Roms , the one good JB for i9000 is only 4.1.2 ; you can forget JB 4.2.1 and 4.2.2
They are quite fast at beginning , but you will notice how lazy they are going to be ..
I highly recommend ICS roms , because they are really fast and they haven't bugs.
There are some apps that are only avalible for Android 4.0+ (like Nova Launcher) , and so I really can't see that ICS is outdated.
Thats why i only develop and port roms for ICS on i9000 device.

Yup, agreed here. Don't get us (or at least me) wrong, 4.2.2 is fantastic. But ICS is rock stable in just about eery aspect and 4.1.2 is pretty damn good as well if you still want to consider Jelly Bean.
Although @UnlimitedRom, you have to admit Google Now is pretty neat
A lot of JB apks can be pushed manually or installed normally on ICS roms anyway.. Just that ICs roms in general are less customiseable than JB roms.
By the way, FlymeOS is looking goooood

Google Now ... is somebody using it? It think it's kinda useless , it is my opinion.
Only 4.1.2 is a good Jelly Bean for i9000
I really can't see that ICS should be a old OS ; as you have said that JB apk's can be installed on ICS...
I bet that if i9000 device is to lazy for Android 5.0 , there will be lots developers who develop for 4.0.4 ...
Thank you, i am still working on it to get bugs away

Yeah, when google released 4.2 I don't really see the point of it except for some nicer animations or not so important functions.
I was shocked at the sheer number of JB roms for this phone at first because on my previous experiences, JB don't work really well on single core phones
I'd give JB a try first and if it's really bad I would try out the rom of yours, it looks great

JB roms is for dual-core phones to run smooth , thats why GT-i9100 got 4.2.2 ; cause it is a dual-core..
Thank you , in 4-5 days i release the bugfree version of my rom , it is better that you wait the 4-5 days for it if you want my rom

Hey, you never know, rumours are flaoting around that 5.0 is going to be optimised for devices with a 1Ghz processor and 512MB of rom( (one or the other or both). So you never know, 5.0 might really bring the S back to life
But yeah, 4.0.4 is a really good base for the I9000. Smooth, stable but not too taxing for the processor at all (not to mention some pretty good battery life, daaaaaaamn)

Yeah, agreed. The JB roms optimised for gaming work decently- although that's HEAVILY optimised and debloated to give as quick an experience as possible. But it's an OS optimised mostly for dual cores and above. There are very few single-core devices- if at all- that run 4.1 officially, and for pretty damn good reason. Only one I can think of is the Nexus S (Nexus version of the Galaxy S, bearing in mind), and even then 4.2 was dropped for that device. So while its still possible to have Jelly Bean fully functional, at the end of the day...

Oh yes its 4.0.3. I mistyped. Now we have 4.1.2 which is arguably stable. We have 4.3 under development. We also started development of 2.3 but then I don't know what happened.
Right now development is a bit slow because of exam season.. I hope we catch pace in the winter..

[Question] JB decent and smooth ROM

Hi there, this is a desperate topic. Last night (and until now) I've been looking for a decent and smooth JB ROM for my samsung galaxy ace gt-s5830 and I couldnt find anything.
does anyone found any stable JB ROM for this device?
Thank you very much
Regards
Anyone? :\
First of all, this is the wrong section. Should've asked in general. Anyway, no there are no smooth JB Roms for Ace since it is getting old and the CPU and RAM cannot handle JB. You can get some decent ROMs at adroidarmv6 or you can try Mardon's modded ones. Honestly, I recommend either stock, CM7 or a decent CM9 (the one from Rhievaldo is the smoothest).
The Ace's CPU is aging, CM7 should be more stable and faster than JB.
But if you _really_ want JB then just go with plain old CM
Wrong section tho

Badly in need of I9070ODDLD4 (2.3.6 India official)

Hi
I am I9070 user from India.
I was using official JB but lately phone started lagging a lot. So I rooted the phone and now using Kitkat custom rom.
But I feel that I9070 hardware is not meant for Kitkat. Somewhere from heart it still lags and feel slow.
So I am thinking to downgrade it to 2.3.6 *official). Hope this will solve the lag.
So I really request all of you to please share a working link. As I have tried searching google and even XDA but old links are not working anymore. link of I9070DDLJ1 (2.3.6) will also work.
I will install using ODIN.
Thanks for taking out the time and reading. Would appreciate more if somebody can help.
regards
Mani

I managed to download United kingdom version
H3G-I9070NELD1-20120416172042.zip
Will it work on I9070 from India?
It should work. Only chinese stock roms and 9070p cause problems.

We do not have any working 4.1 non stock based. There was CM10, but I think it was not finished.
