I'm not allowed yet to post external links yet but you guys know what to do
android.googleapis.com/packages/ota/lge_bass_bass/9dc72dd4c0f07eea91f85f4a8b1dc57f81d8d9b2.zip
Edit: This is the OTA file for Urbane 1st gen.
can confirm, just flashed it via adb sideload *zip* and i am on it.
takes like 4 minutes to boot up after flashing.
after boot will have to setup google account and it's sideloading play store as well...
Flashing now
it's really sluggish and draining battery at the initial setup and whatever it does in the background. but after about half an hour it gets better.
Step by Step Instructions for those that can't be bothered to look it up:
1. Download http://android.googleapis.com/packa.../9dc72dd4c0f07eea91f85f4a8b1dc57f81d8d9b2.zip
then Rename it, to something easy (eg. aw2.zip)
2. Get ADB- if you don't have it already and in developer mode, USB ADB debugging is on. Also, allow adb Debugging on your phone
3. Go to your cmd prompt and type the following command adb reboot bootloader
4. Go to your watch, using the arrows, navigate to Recovery Mode
5. Swipe up/down to go to apply update from ADB swipe right/left
6. Go to your cmd prompt and type the following command adb sideload aw2.zip (Replacing aw2.zip with your filename and path - I put my file in my adb directory so the above command worked for me)
Watch will update, and reboot.
I am not responsible for any issues you may have. Good Luck
can someone please post a mirror? it is taking forever (says 9 hrs left)

Very fast, 8 minutes maximum.
did anyone notice that max CPU clock is set at 787.2 MHz even though the watch supports upto 1190.4 MHz

That was the same also on older releases.
I figured it out
Is it just me or is the watch really laggy now? There's always a one or two second delay before things happen.

I just sent back the N6 that had the screen burn out, I got my RMA device and its on just 5.1 not 5.1.1 should I update it or keep it does it matter? Also this N6 is doing some of the same issues that the other device did before it burned out. The screen has a lot of flickering and triangle flashes but only when I'm using my web browser, also, today I got off of a phone call and the proximity sensor failed to turn the screen on. What's up with that? I'm starting to wonder about these N6's man. Any ideas guys. I think I may need to just flash the s#-t out of this thing

If it was mine, I'd RMA this one too.
Unlock it. Fastboot flash the updated 5.1.1 factory image and see what you have. If bad send it back. If good it all good.

I'm using adblock browser. I just updated to Windows 10 so now my adb is all jacked up for some reason. When I turned on the phone it said that there was a 5.1.1 update ready to be installed. Should I just take that one before I unlock the BL and root or do the unlock first? Thanks to all of you who are helping me out. Good people.

Unlock first. Too many been bricked on that update with bootloader locked. I wouldn't take it. Win 10 didn't jack with my adb. I have full SDK tho. Some are using the 15 minute adb/fastboot. I would search and try to reinstall it. Does your usb debug work as far as showing device MTP on PC. If not you lost the Google driver.

More than likely that browser is the flicker problem. I use Chrome but with Adaway and MOAB. No adds anywhere. lol
I'll have to check. I'm so gunshy now I only hooked this to pc just to put music on it. I'll unlock BL and try the update after. Thanks

If able to put music on your driver is good. Need ADB/Fastboot working or you are already dead in the water.

Latest for all carriers is I version unless you are on TMobile then it is the one that says TMobile only. They don't have the security update yet. No need for TWRP yet as long as unlocked. Get it booted and see if everything works. Do NOT relock. DO NOT use toolkit. Do it manually with fastboot commands.

It says for all carriers except tmobile. I got it from Google yesterday. It's the exact one that was on the phone I sent back. Do you have any particular preference or reccomendation?

The new I version has the Stagefright security fix otherwize the Z version is fine. That is what I am on. Haven't updated yet.. You can try OTA as long as unlocked. Have seen posts that say OTA won't work unlocked. Not sure. If it bootloops and it is locked you are hosed again and have to RMA.

The splash screen that says the latest update is being installed is just Amazon's version of the Android dialog that says Android is upgrading, which you'll get any time you wipe cache. In other words, if you're already on 5.0.1 and have been messing around with it (e.g. rooting it) it's not unusual to see the "latest update" screen on reboot as the cache gets rebuilt.

oh ya i wiped the cash yesterday and did a factory reset
then rooted it
you think thats why today i see the update ?
or is it something new ?
no that cant be it i remember it rebuilding the cash yesterday
so this is something new
probably to fix the root hole we found
because if we root it we dont have to see their adds
or use their programs like "PRIME"
and they dont make money
thats why i am scared of this update
because it's in their best interest to stop root and boot-loaders
If you're on 5.0.1 then you're on the latest and you're not receiving an update.
I have got same problem
I originally have stopped the OTA through adb shell
but then I still got the update
not sure why this happens...

More than likely it isn't an ota, I had this happen a few times messing with system using root apps, it's just rebuilding cache like users suggested, also when I rooted the device I had that come up before, it's fine.
Just make sure the ota services are disabled/hide/removed.
You can install all the updates available for this device, you won't lose root. Not yet at least

Hey guys,
Recently, I have been trying to re-root my LG G2 VS980 that was returned to lollipop stock (LG Firmware). However, all the tools I knew that previously worked, (Ioroot, Towelroot, Stumproot, Kingoroot, etc..) did not work. After months of testing, I finally found one app that currently works called KingRoot.
As far as I know, it is the only root method that acutally still works after LG patched most of the exploits so I thought I would share the info with you guys in case some of you are still interested in rooting your G2.
Instructions:
1. Install Kingroot: http://kingroot.net/ (the APK doesn't work for the G2)
2. Go to settings in your phone and click the build number 7-10 times to enable Developer Options
3. Go to Developer Options and enable USB Debugging
4. plug the phone into your computer and launch the program. Make sure you see the USB Debugging card that will pop up on your phone.
Launch the program and allow the program to root your phone.
Sidenote: The only downside to the app is it is all in Korean but it is very easy to tell what it is asking due to excellent pictures
After you receive root, download the app RootChecker just to make sure.
To Install TWRP:
1. Instructions: Go to Play Store and type in the search window, "AUTOREC".
2. Select the correct variant: ex. VS980=Verizon etc...
3. Install the app.
4. Watch TWRP Install on your phone.
5. Reward yourself on your hard work with a pat on the back.
So that's it; A fast easy, and trouble free method on getting root and installing TWRP
Thanks for this. I recently acquired a G2, and will be trying this out tonight.

No problem. Have fun with your custom ROM of choice.
Can you share the setup files? I also need to re-root my Verizon phone. The kingroot ownload links looks dead
i downlaoded it from here. I have usb dev enabled. now what? http://kingroot-pc.en.uptodown.com/download
Stuck on that step. I know its telling me to enable USB debuggin which I have, it doens' do anythong when I click Go in Korean
I managed to enable debugging mode which was by setting the 'USB Type" on the phone to "Internet -> Ethernet"
But Kingroot isn't managing to root the phone. It goes 100 percent and nothing.
Ioroot managed to get the phone into the reboot phase but the phone no longer processed the splash screen of the recover/bootloader. The splash screen which has the android mascot on its back with abdomen open.
"LG G2 One lick Tool" makes the phone go to "download mode" but its stuck at 0 percent. I disconnect and replug in hope of kickstarting it, doesn't work.
What can I do now?

No idea. I was on a downgraded stock ROM, VS980_27A or was it VS980_24A. Can't remember; 4.4.2
Whatever it was, none of the popular rooting method was working. They were managing to do 'semi root' as in root message was displayed in "hard reset mode" and in 'download mode' but there was no root when the OS fully booted. The 'stock recovery' was also corrupted as in it showed a dead android with red exclamation mark. From the searching I did, people were saying there was no recovery installed so I needed one but I could not install. No stock recovery means no 'adb'.
Stump root gave 'complete' root. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
Will this work if I am on the 39aa update from Verizon? I am skeptical about this because this is my only phone and don't need to mess it up.

I don't think I've seen a way to root 39aa as of yet. One of our developers was asking about it as well, if you do find a way, please @ me so I can hook him up
I'm still looking around for a way.

I tried and failed at it. I am downgrading to VS98039A_05 and going from there. it seems VS9803AA was meant to patch root and also SF security patches.

Thanks for this. For people who don't want to mess with Korean, or if Kingroot doesn't work, LG One Click Root still works on VS9803AA, although you may have to run it 3 or 4 times. Here's the original post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
And here's a good guide: http://webtrickz.com/how-to-root-lg-g2-running-lollipop-with-lg-one-click-root/
Interesting... I've tried that method four times and it never worked for me. Good to hear it works for other people though. I agree not to many people want to use
Korean deciphering skills just to root their phone but its just an option.

Links are fixed. The whole URLs don't show in the post, but if you click on them, they should work.

Im having issues with my gear live. Samsung is NO HELP. this is my second one.
it is stuck on LWX48P and will not do any OTA. I would really like to get the updates as i believe the 5.0.1 is the root of my issues. I am familiar with flashing on my Galaxy phone but have never done the watch.
Can anyone direct me on how to get this stupid piece of junk to update? from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Gear_Live#Official I cannot see how to go from the version I am on.
Try v2 of the restore tool

Brendo, thank you. I finally got the tool running on my PC with the drivers and all. it reset my watch to KMV78y. the watch is currently downloading an update.
EDIT,
after download the system updates said (public) KMV78y to KNX01Q. but would not do anything. it seems the watch wanted to reboot just before it finished downloading.
EDit 2. Finally. it said update ready and installed. then each other OTA went smoothly and the watch is now on the latest and greatest LCA43. Lets hope this solves all my issues.

I'm stuck in the same place you were after your first edit, it downloads the update from KMV78Y to KNX01Q, but then nothing happens. If I go back to update it just shows the text [Public] KMV78Y ->KNX01Q. Resetting does not help, but it allowed me to download the same update again, with the same result.
How did you get it to go on and actually install the update?

I believe it was just time IIRC.. it has been some time and the watch has performed perfectly ever since.

It seems it just needed to think things over for a while. After waiting 10 minutes it told me that it had an update for me and asked to install. Now I'm going thru the upgrade chain and hoping thing will work out nicely.
I guess I was just too impatient

HAHAHA!.. yea it took forever to get over that hump but it does go. Glad to hear it is working for you.
I figured out how to fix this problem with debug user 5.0.1 not taking OTA'S! also not coming up with ADB Sideload recovery not showing up in computer or error device not found! this method works in fastboot mode unlocked bootloader! PM ME, cant upload right now! have to work in morning! need someone to host! I can get you 6.0.1!

the current version can run on the LG G Watch, LG G Watch Urbane, LG G Watch R
https://asteroidos.org/install/
Did someone get it to work successfully? I can't push the system to my internal storage (no space left on device) - even though I did a full factory reset before trying to push it.
I also tried installing it directly following the instructions on the official website. But booting won't work (stuck at LG-boot-screen).

I had the same problem. It starts when you have a too old of an ADB version. You need >1.0.39 that'll fix your problem.
Also it's quite an amazing OS. Way faster than WearOS who was killing my watch!
These are the drivers you need!

Thanks for your reply. I was able to fix it another way:
I booted to twrp and was then able successfully push the file to the internal storage. Then I just flashed the boot image over fastboot and everything works now.

We have a thread for it in the Android development section right?
Just a question. I tried it 2-3 months ago almost every nightly but it never booted up. Is it booting now?

Ive been using it for a few days and its nice. Gestures dont work for me so I have to button press to see time. My only annoyance.
i much prefer android 1 over 2 and aos. AOS2 is meant to be much better i hear.
Reviving an old thread. Did anyone ever try to reverse this? as in reverting back to wear OS from Asteroid OS? I'm having a hard time reinstalling wear OS image via ADB. I managed to get ADB working (adb devices return back a device). However, I can't get into recovery or bootloader. Sending command "adb reboot bootloader" would just cause the CMD to hang and nothing happened on the watch. Please advise, thanks!
