Hi guys,
My Google app is triggering tons of wake locks. Any of you encountered similar problem?
Already tried wiping the Google play services data.
Thanks in advanced.

That would have been my thought, that the Google app would need to have a wakelock in order to detect the "OK Google" phrase when the screen is off.
What ROM you running? On my (stock OOS 4.1.1) Battery screen, the stop app right now has that same icon, but says "Google Play Services", so not sure if that is related to the Google app (Google Assistant).

I'm running OB4. That seems is the problem. But need more time to collect data to confirm it.
I have enabled Google assistant for a pretty long time and didn't have this problem until now. Not sure who to blame though.

After disabling the 'OK Google', my device can doze now. However, the wakeup triggers of Google app is still like crazy... And I use adb top command to see what is eating up my battery. I think that is exactly Google app.
I thought it's because of the OS, so I flashed OOS 4.1.1. But the problem remains. Now I can only get around 3 hours SOT now. It's affecting my life...
Please help... I don't know what to do now.
Are you sure you're not using Google Assistant?

The only way to solve it is by disabling google play services (and enabling them only when you need them) or rooting your phone, installing an app like "Disable Service" and disabling some stuff under google play services and google services framework...but you could still get ocassional wakelocks here n there. This is how I do it.
If you still get EventLog wakelock, try enabling EventLog in both google services and google framework instead of disabling them. Just use Wakelock detector to see what is causing wakelocks and try disabling or enabling those services with the app I mentioned before. Let me know if it helps

Disabled Google Now, all location services (GPS/Google), disabled via AppOps some settings, but I get the idea that its still asking for location. It keeps awaking my device.
@finac94: How do i get those options you posted?

You need to be rooted and download an app called "Disable Service"

NP, let me know if it helped. I'm still fighting with the wakelocks sometimes, but it' much better than it was...you just have to play with the settings and try out different options. There's also some threads on xda about which services to disable so definitely check those out.
There's also an app called "System tuner" which also lets you disable certain recievers if the "Disable Service" doesn't help.

I've got heavy wakelocks from google play services and they won't let the device go to sleep when screen is off.
I've tried following fixes regarding this issue.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/f...-guard.297792/
None of them worked for me..
Could it be of the Gapps I use?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53739230&postcount=5031
This worked for me for me...but only til I rebooted the phone.
I've tried different Gapps packages..all the same.
Any suggestions what I am doing wrong or how I can permanently get rid of the wakelocks caused by google play services?
I'm on Mackay 4.4.4 ROM and using Open Gapps 4.4 from 11/22/15
Can someone help me out of this misery please? :crying:
Got a workaround but not quite the root of all evil.
In privacy settings I disabled "keep awake" for Google play services and the battery drain is much better.
But now I am getting "unfortunatly Google play services has stopped" sometimes.
Everything seems to work..
It is OK but anoying somehow.
Anyone here with an actual solution?

I am not wuite sure what you mean with "DisableService in Google Play".
Can you please be more specific?
Do you mean the app "Disable Service" and if so what to disable exactly?
I've already tried to use the app to enable "SystemUpdateService" as it is disabled, but it went
back to disabled after boot.
Yeah! You must download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice&hl=pl
****Go to Google Services>search this:
- "UPDATE" |||| off ALL
- "Sync" III off ALL
- Game III off ALL
And disable almost all proces, in background.
you have to embrace it-yourself
And your GOOGLE SERVICE WILL BE so low
Sorry for my bad english.

My Android Pay app will not start. It always says "Android Pay is unavailable - Android Pay is not available."
I am running a completely stock N6 no root on 6.0.1
NFC is on
Tap to Pay is on
Screen Pin enabled
Is there some other setting I need to check? I would really like to get this app working soon.....thanks for any help.
What country?

Im in the US....but now I seem to be able to make the app work only when I went into the settings area with turning on android pay within the Google account area. I just can not make the app short cut on the home page or the app icon inside the app drawer open the app. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling....but same thing.
I am also using Nova Launcher .....could that be why the app icon wont trigger the app from staring up?

Where did you find that? I don't see any such settings in my "Google account area".
This app will tell you whether or not it's due to your device failing Google Play Services' SafetyNet API. Android pay will only work if the result is Green

Awesome app.....thanks so much for that StykerB. It says my Google Play services connection failed....
I cleared the cache from Google Play Services and Google Play Store....still wont allow the Android Pay Icon on my home screen and the one in the app drawer to work.
But I CAN OPEN the Android Pay app and use it when I open from the Settings>Google> Android Pay scenario. Odd...what is causing the app icons to error out?

I had a similar type of error at some point and what ended up fixing it was uninstalling updates from Google play services rebooting and letting it reupdate itself

Thanks! Unfortunately mine is grayed out with only the option to add cards, because I still haven't been able to get Android Pay set up.
Mine didn't start working until I reflashed 100% complete stock.. I used the wugz tool kit and reflashed to 100% stock.. I still have an open bootloader though.. I had to turn off Google play services reboot then it automatically updated and boom worked.. I didn't even loose my data..

If you didn't lose data, I assume you used Wugz ‘Flash Stock + Unroot’ with ‘No Wipe Mode’, which "preserves your userdata and cache". That is essentially how I got from 5.1.1 to 6.0 and then to 6.0.1 with fastboot.
How did you turn off Google play services? Disable and Force Stop are grayed out in Settings, Apps. I'm already at Google Play services 8.4.89, which is newer than the 7.3 that the Play Store shows. I think I'll give it a try...

Yes, I am rooted at the moment with Chainfire's systemless root 2.64. My plan is to reflash with fastboot, not root, activate Android Pay long enough to buy something and get my $20, and then root again. I still don't see any advantage to pulling out my phone to pay for something, when I can swipe a real card faster. I'm a sucker for free money though.

Bahahaha aren't we all?
Google services are using a ton of battery for no reason.
It's starting to drive me to rage!
It's driving me nuts!
I have disabled nearly everything and google play keeps being the battery eating culprit.

I think it will restart when you open Google Play store... I tried to freeze the services and without it the store does not work. Greenifying the services should help though.

Because i have this horrid feeling that i'm going to end up with some free data eating disease.
So I use the "ok Google" wake up feature quite a bit, but a couple of days ago it just stopped working and the on off setting for it is grayed out. Any ideas? I'm running stock.

May be something that inadvertently made Bixby the default assistant? (Just ballparking) Also I've been going nuts wondering why sometimes when I access APPS I have to re-register for some... Found out it was because I had left Secure Folder active in my button array.
Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 8 using XDA Labs
I thought about that too. Google is still my default assistant app. It comes up and works fine when I hold my home button. Might try disabling Bixby all together.
Bixby should work with Google Assistant perfectly fine. Have you installed any other voice app? Cortana? Alexa?
Try to re-train Google for your voice again if you can.
Was Google Assistant updated recently?
