Just kinda thinking out loud here (not the best thing to do but oh well!) Wouldn't it be nice to have an XDATV show about some off the apps that come from XDA? (SetCPU ect)
Or just an XDATV show dedicated to app reivews, Like SassiBob's segment but as a full show?
As I said, just thinking out loud
yeah we have chad for roms
sassy for apps
harry (lol) for a mix of quick stuff - maybe too quick
az - general xda news and other mix
that other blonde guy for interviews....
kinda need to find a set topic for each show... almost there....
would be nice to have a Q&A live, or a how-to ( mobile tech videos - bend over and take it with him xda. he is a good resource! )
another show for games...?

Ohh I love the idea of a How-to video! That would go down well with the people who are not as tech savy as the rest of us Not sure about a live Q&A though, that would depend on having a big crowd that interacts & I have a feeling that with XDATV in such a young age it would fail to attract the crowds needed. But I think maybe a top5 show? Like top5 Apps or Top5 Roms?
An XDATV Games show?! Only if we can dress the Android dude up as Mr Chip! XD haha
Maybe this is silly.... But, what if an episode was dedicated to some "issues" (like OEMS locking the bootloader, developer's thoughts on fragmentation, the suit, between Google and Oracle and it's effect on Android and the Linux kernel....)?
Sparky WAS in the doghouse. Now, He's allowed on the deck at least.
My Nexus S is annoying me.

Well, more like an editorial by a particular dev or any xda tv personality on those (and many other) issues. Not really reporting facts (news) but opinion. Bad idea?

opinions often get confused for fact.
case in point fox "news".
facts are better for people that cant tell the difference.
and theres too many here...

Very true.
It was just an idea.
I just like editorials and there are many issues in the Android Community that can be very polarizing.
That was my thought.
But you are right.
Sparky WAS in the doghouse. Now, He's allowed on the deck at least.

okay okay..well....
XDA Developers forum users are way too damn pretentious and immature in order to host a live Q and A - well said, guy who said that above me. XDA is too young to have that kind of crowd.
BabyDoll - Great Idea, hard to pull off without starting a flame war :-/
TRusello - I articulated your guide, but I haven't had time to edit it yet. I did it with Camtasia Studio so it came out nice and clear.
Also, the guy doing the interviews is shawn, just in case you wanted to know ^^
Oh, and on a side note, I need a nerdy girlfriend, so be sure to PM me your qualifications, ladies.

I wrote it for XDA but they didn't want to start a flame war, which is very understandable.
I had an idea on a show for how-to videos as well. I'd love to do some!
I don't have a smartphone atm to do any so I guess thats a no
I do however follow HTC news like a puppy dog, so maybe I could do some videos on HTC news? I'm talking ALL news. ROMs, Phone rumors, new releases, OEM firmware updates. I'd love a chance!
My idea for How-To videos was that there would be no set host, but anyone who wants to make a how-to video for noobs could do it. The videos would specifically show from factory to rooting and installing any given ROM on every device xda supports. The footage would be sent to me and I'd edit it to make it as short as possible without leaving anything out, and then it would be uploaded to xda's Youtube channel. If any of you are uncomfortable with speaking or being seen, that's fine, I can do the voice-over. Like I said, going from unboxed to flash-ready as fast as possible is all you'd need to do. Then each of these videos could be placed in each forum's noob sticky.

Man, I'd do it. You, me, and Bob. Put it up on streamly.tv and we're set. Having a live show in general would be fun to do. Sure, I might answer a few questions with "I don't know, go away," but that's why I'd just be hosting it. We'd have guests that came on each week to answer questions. And I'd just smack any pretension that peeked out. Or Bob would. Yeah, Bob would. Plus, there's nobody better than her at keeping things stu...non-pretentious.

My only concern with covering news from outside xda is that its outside xda. I'm by no means a decision maker here, so press on and see how far it goes. I'm sure with a live show we'd be covering general news for a want of content. But we don't embrace a brand as a community, we develop on a large number of devices from a wide array of carriers.

I'm Jordan. I generally do the weekly (or semiweekly) news recaps for the XDA Portal, but I got my start on YouTube with my other channel, http://youtube.com/thisweekinlinux, where I talked about Linux news, created screencast-style tutorials, and reviewed Linux distributions.
I've recently relaunched my YouTube "career" by creating a new channel, http://youtube.com/twildottv, where I'll be talking about not only Linux, but Android, hardware, software, and just geeky topics in general. Feel free to subscribe if you like my content!
I'm around pretty regularly, so feel free to ask me whatever you like!
UPDATE: As of this past weekend, I'm also running a gaming channel on YouTube, http://youtube.com/twilplays, where I'll be doing gaming commentary on all sorts of different platforms, and hopefully doing some tabletop gaming videos as well in the future. Check that out, if you're interested!

I actually liked the previous hosts as well. They were a large part of the reason I wanted to be a on XDA TV in the first place. I have to thank them for the foundation they helped build for the channel, and I hope that I can continue to do it justice in the coming days/weeks/months/whatever until people get tired of watching me.
You are one awsome host!!!! I have a little more info every time I watch your videos.........like the Molecular structure of Caffeine
Love your videos Jordan
I think we need some more from you on the XDA channel too, share the love to more viewers

Thanks, Quinny! I was trying to upload it to the minecraft.net profile page, yes. Tried just a downloaded one from one of the referenced minecraft skins sites, and then one that I edited myself, and no dice either time. I also went through and did the migration to the Mojang account thing, and tried uploading afterward. No luck.
Definitely seems that the servers are just having issues. I'll try again later today and see if it works.
Jordan, since I see you are a linux guy, could you please do a video about NANDROID for the HTC Touch HD (WinMo phone) which is on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914723 ??
Maybe you could talk a little bit about the ROM and possibly help on our biggest problem to make this ROM a daily driver: Wifi. The problem is kernel related, and all functions work on the SD builds, which run by executing Handheld Reverse Engineering Tool (or HaRET). Of course, with a NAND ROM, we would boot up Linux right away!
I know it's Gingerbread only, and the kernel is only a .27, but everyone is waiting for a fully functional ROM for this device. Maybe later we could upgrade kernel and, who knows, maybe moving to ICS.
I'm not asking for a whole new video about this, just asking you to talk about it when you report the news (which I think is every week).
Thank you for reading,
mfsr98
Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm hosting a programming contest on my YouTube channel BetterCoder.
The prize is going to be a $20 Google Play gift card. The programming you have to do to enter is pretty simple, just writing a few logic tasks, and it's fun because you are writing the rules for a critter to interact with the simulated world it's being run in. Check out the video and enter!
Contest is HERE!
Sample Critter ideas HERE!
Also, mods, I don't think this is against the rules, considering I'm not really advertising products to buy, it's just a cool contest that I decided to throw on my YouTube channel. Let me know if it is however, and I'll close the thread.
Methinks someone doesn't know how to do their homework, and offering a prize for doing it. lol
I kid I kid,
if I was better at programming I'd enter.

Hello everybody,
I have to write a letter of reference for me in the name of my professor.
Sadly I am not sure if it's grammatically correct and if the sentences are understandable at all.
It would be really great if you guys could help me out by correcting it a little bit.
Thanks in advance
This is a personal recommendation for *****.
My name is Prof. Dr.-Ing. *****. I’m the head of the Institute of concrete structures and structural engineering at the University of Technology ***** (Technische Universität *****).
I know ***** as a student of civil engineering. He started his studies on April 1, 2010.
***** is a very purposeful person. He is kind and polite on every occasion. Teamwork as well as working on his own are tasks that he can fulfill reliably as he has proven with different papers.
He has successfully managed to pass the syllabus of 8 semester within 7 semester and thus outstripped other students of his field. He has always shown a high level of motivation and has fulfilled his duties to the satisfactory of the faculty.
The internship at ***** suits his studies very well as he is majoring in statics and structural engineering. I highly recommend ***** for an international internship in the United States.

"managed to pass" seems like you barely passed. It's better to change it to just passed.
Other than what archer said above, I don't see any major problems.

Death Horizon is a realistic VR shooter developed specially for mobile VR devices.
In the secret Horizon laboratory, a horrific virus has broken free, and now all the employees have turned to zombies. Only the game’s protagonist can prevent the downfall of humanity. Your task is to make your way to the station’s reactor and disable the distribution of the virus. To do that, you’ll need to kill all the enemies in your path and complete the tasks. Come back alive too, if you can.
