Strange problem on unlocking. - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

When you unlock and quickly open whatsapp (or any other app), it opens and quickly again goes back to home screen and again gets back whatsapp again. I am facing this issue for quite some time now. Any help would be good.

My Note Is Driving Me Insane. Can Anyone Help?

I'm not sure if my 2 month old Note has had the following problem since day 1 but it's been doing if for a long time now.
The problem is there with a stock standard rom and any of the other custom roms and kernels that I've tried. I'm currently using Rocketrom with Speedmod kernel. I've also used Checkrom and Abyssnote kernel.
If the Note had been asleep for about 15 minutes or more when I wake it up then try to do anything like opening an app, closing an app that's already open etc there's a 2 to 3 second lag the first time I try to do anything. Everything is then normal until the next time that the Note has been asleep then it's the same story again.
Can anyone give me a clue as to what is going on here? I'm starting to think that it's hardware related, but apart from this problem the Note functions perfectly normally.
Also, if I have a CPU monitor installed, like URsafe CPU Monitor, when the lag is happening the monitor shows that the CPU is working hard.
Help please!!!!!
Does this happen after a complete hard reset with no apps installed?
Does this happen on Stock ROM?
Are you using WiFi?
Sounds like WiFi is sleeping when the screen is off, and either it is trying to connect and/or some app is wildly trying to connect using it.
Try seePU++ can tell you what the most active app is, but IIRC you have to pay for that that feature. There may be others.

Yes, it happens on stock rom with no apps installed. I'm not totally sure what you mean by a complete hard reset. Can you please tell me how I do that? I'm willing to try anything to get rid of this problem.

The problem still happens with WiFi disabled. On top of that it doesn't matter how long I leave it after I wake the phone up till I try to do something like launching an app. The problem is still there the first time I do anything with the phone.
I have rocket rom and sometimes when I turn on the screen the screen wont work. The physical buttons work but the screen is wont respond to touch.
Turning on and off the screen fixes this.
Very annoying.
Makes me appreciate Apple more.

Do a clean stock ROM with no root or anything.
Do a factory reset and erase your USB storage as well (i.e., tick the option when you're factory resetting).
Remove your microSD card.
Now, does the problem still occur? If it does, get your phone exchanged/repaired. It sounds like a hardware problem.
What you are experiencing is perfectly normal.
I'm getting the exact same issue. When the phone is not used for a long period of time, is then unlocked, opening contacts, sms or the menu takes a good 2-3 seconds.
It's really annoying and it's a delay when 'waking up' the phone.
Supposedly this issue should be fixed with Ice Cream Sandwich, so be patient and this bug should soon be gone...

Just not getting that myself. I am not terribly patient, and generally the most I have to wait is a second for an app to respond after waking the phone, and that is not often.
Stock unrooted HK version, never seen anything like that delay, mine works instantly on waking

Same delay here. Stock ROM, and rooted.

I dare say this is not normal, the only time there is a delay in opening the dialer/contacts application is when you initially boot the device and have both of those running for the first time subsequent runs have no delay what so ever on my end ( when i still had the note )

If this is normal it's incredibly bad that Samsung would design something like this. The wake up lag is bad enough let alone this. Can't see how it can be normal though. My SGS2 didn't have it and some other users aren't seeing it. I think I'll hang out for ICS and see if it goes away before I take any further action.
Strange issue, seems it occurs for some but not all...
Once again, I unlocked the screen after 2 hours of no use, when pressing contacts, there was a 2 second delay and when attempting to call someone there was a good 2-3 decond delay...

Despite being my first Android device I have come to accept that this is normal for this OS.
Unfortunately I have become a big whiner on this forum because of this same issue.
The day before yesterday there was an update on the kies ,LA4,after updating it felt a bit faster overall but the wake up and the incredibly annoying Contacts lag is still there.
I myself am not any particular OS follower or a fanboy of any certain brand for that matter.
So I'm stuck with Android for the time being, since I don't like both iTunes and izunes dependency, besides no big screens there.
However I suspect that this is an Android thing, as far as I know Android is based on Java and Java is known to be laggy,so until a very powerful CPU is available for mobiles, for me its either live with it or Leave it !! and since there is no alternative for now will wait and see how good ICS does and decide accordingly.
I'm on stock ROM and unrooted.
The Note seems to do this once or twice but when a program/app has been opened once it usually reopens them instantly.
This morning when turning on my Note for the first time, there was a few second delay when attempting to call someone, another delay when opening contacts and another slight delay when viewing sms messages.
However, the second time I attempy to open something it's usually immediately.
There should not be ANY delay when opening programs/apps and Ice Cream Sandwich should fix this wake up issue which some users such as myself am experiencing.
It's a shame, really since I'm getting no other lag/delay. The phone is super fast in every possible way, only sometimes it's a little slow at waking up!!

Different camera problem?

Hi,
I am trying to find a solution for a problem with the Xperia T camera, I tried looking through the forum but couldn't find what I had exactly.
When the camera app starts if you do nothing and just look around with it, it will just shut down suddenly, sometimes after only 5 - 10 seconds. The amount of time varies but is normally very quickly, and it is becoming very annoying with the app vanishing just as you are about to take a photo. There is no black screen, freezing, slow down during or after and no problem starting it straight back up.
It was on T_9.1.A.0.489 (Three) and I tried repairing it. The problem is still there after flashing 9.1.A.1.140 today.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

How are you starting the camera app? via the camera button or via the app icon in the app drawer?

It happens after starting it from the lockscreen and from the camera button. I can't be sure about the app icon, I haven't really checked. It is my gf new phone, but I was using the camera recently when I needed to take some pictures and video at uni so I was the one who noticed it and she had pretty much not used the camera yet. She always gives anything that needs fixing to me, so that is why I am now looking.
I can try from the app icon later, don't have the phone with me just now.
Edit: Apparently it does not happen when launched from the icon, is this a feature then I take it?
I did actually wait and try it with my Xperia Z I got on Wednesday before posting here, in what was now a failed attempt at not looking stupid, and thought the Z was free of it but I have gone back and checked and it is happening but with a longer time before closing (Xperia T normally around 15 seconds although has been shorter, Xperia Z is around 30 seconds so I did not notice at first - and both are fine from the icon).
Is there any way to stop it, I would like to launch the camera conveniently without it timing out on me so fast (and the same for my gf who has an actual button like my last phone the Arc that did not do this).

[Q] One calling last dialed contact from my pocket

5 times over the last few days my phone has called the last dialed contacts while sitting in my phone. I think it's something to do with removing the headphones (stock) while Spotify is playing as the last two times that's when it happened but it may be a coincidence as I can't replicate it.
Has anyone had this happen or heard of something similar?

I had a similar problem that unlocked the lockscreen with just tapping the screen anywhere. Could it be that your phone is doing the same?

I'm not too sure what makes the lockscreen behave like that as I couldn't diagnose the problem properly.
Here's what i did just before the phone stopped doing it:
First I completely turned off the phone by long pressing the power button until the timer ran outThen I pressed the VOL- key while still holding the power button to go into bootloaderOnce in the bootloader I simply booted into recoveryFinally from recovery just held down power until phone booted up againI'm not sure which step fixed it for me if bootloader, recovery or simply completely turning off the phone but after i did that the lockscreen went back to normal.
I suggest you try every one of the steps once in order to better evaluate which step fixes this (if it fixes them at all)
Let me know how you get on
Tried those steps, unfortunately my lockscreen is acting as it did before. But thank you for your help

No problem, sorry it didn't work like it did for me
I wonder why the lockscreen does that and if we are the only ones that have the problem

Are sure your not pressing play/pause on your headset twice . That dials the last number.

Thanks for the tip its good to know, hopefully someone will find some other way to fix it without losing apps and data
If you're experiencing the bug where pressing anywhere on your One's lockscreen causes it to unlock, you've prolly got an app installed that has an Accessibility Service component to it. If you have any Accessibility Service enabled, it will cause this bug. (Light Flow and the Pebble smartwatch apps are 2 common apps that use an Accessibility Service).
On your phone go to Settings: Accessibility and look under Services. If anything there is enabled, disable it and that should stop the lockscreen from behaving this way.
This bug will also cause the phone to answer any incoming call if you press anywhere on the lockscreen while your phone is receiving a call.

I'm not aware of any way to fix it, unfortunately. Wish I knew a way, believe me, because this issue is keeping me from using the full functionality of my Pebble smartwatch with my HTC One. :crying:
I've actually mentioned this bug to a couple of HTC employees in a thread on Reddit here:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1d6we1/hello_from_htc/?limit=500
and one of them has already brought this to the attention of some HTC engineers, so hopefully it will be fixed with a future update!

Cheers, it's almost certainly the pebble doing it then; it's seemingly happening whenever I pull out headphones that have a microphone and button, while music is playing through Spotify and my pebble is connected.

thanks for the info, this has been driving me crazy as well.
i have found that killing the lockscreen with a task killer will revert it back to pull to unlock for a while for some reason.

My S5 keeps going to the call logs screen, all the time, on its own?

My S5 seems to be possessed. Its not rooted (cant anyway) no rom, have done absolutely nothing out of the ordinary to the phone other then install my normal apps from the play store.
Yet the phone is constantly, about 20x a day just going to the 'call logs' screen. I've rebooted the phone, logged in and with nothing open poof call logs. It seems to happen more when my fingers are hovering near but not touching the screen, is there some sort of air gesture for call logs that I dont know about ? Its never any other screen, its not like its accidentally hitting the 'back' button. It is starting to get a bit annoying ..
I notice mine opens apps "on its own". Not sure if its a gestures or hover thing or what. Usually gallery or phone, which are right next to each other on my home screen (all the way left). Must have something to do with it.

YES!!! My Rogers (SM-G900W8) does it too! I thought it was probably because I installed something, but, now that I see you have the issue !!
I posted this same question in the Q&A section regarding the call logs. Ultimately , I factory reset my phone. That fixed whatever the problem was. It was annoying the crap out of me.

I found the problem, it was my galaxy gear 2, every time it 'checked' my phone for new messages it would leave the phone on the call log. I turned off the option to open content on my phone from my gear and all is well now !
I have been experiencing this issue since upgrading to Lollipop on my S5. I too have a Galaxy Gear 2. I have just disabled 'Smart Relay' in the Gear App (which is what I presume you were referring to) and so far all seems good Thanks.

anyone having intermittent issues with FaceUnlock?

I sometimes get the warning, no face detected, regardless of the light I am in. It once suggested I restart if I get this problem. Is it just my device?

I'm leaving this here to assist others. From a search: Turns out it is from a conflict with WhatsApp. If you have this problem, remove the permission for WhatsApp to access the camera, then return it when it next asks. It fixed it.
Update. It's not WhatsApp. Still having intermittent issues. Anyone have ideas?
Same here. Yesterday out of 20 tries it worked once. I am close to say that their implementation of face unlock is utterly crap. It works badly most the time, no matter what lighting situation my face is in.
EDIT: After I wrote this I tried it again, same problem: "No face detected".....
I let the phone sit at the same position and didnt move, rebooted and it worked. This must be some kind of bug.
I think it's related to a 3rd party app
Agreed, I have no problems.
