Hi
I've made the update Android Wear 2.0 on my LG G Watch R (through the Play Store).
However, i really do not like the new interface and how notifications are now displayed.
Is it possible de downgrade Android Wear to old version 1.5? How should I do that?
Thanks for your help, have a nice day.

I'd like to know this too. 2.0 was so far a downgrade for me: removed the quick cinema-mode (double click the button), the new cards do not have a "1/3rd visible only" peeking mode, making e.g. music player cards much less useful, etc.
I totally agree with you @nagi603!
I have described how to downgrade to Android Wear 1.5 in this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71823043&postcount=3
Thank you. I hate 2.0. Downgrade worked great.
I can't stand it when Google fixes what isn't broken. No Wear wasn't perfect, but 2.0 is crap.

Yup, same opinion here. Wear was way better then 2.0. I also notice a big difference in speed and battery usage.
@nicodvt thanks for the guide.
You're welcome @Chmeleon!
Life saver.
Thank you @nicodvt for these instructions. I am so glad to have my watch back. Google already bricked my Droid Turbo a couple of months ago, so if I had lost my watch too, I would have thought about going to Apple.... These updates break perfectly working equipment. That's just not right.
Thanks
Would this work for a Moto 360 2nd Gen, please?

Hello,
Can I use this with my LG Urbane (w150)?
Hate wear 2.0. It is a real downgrade in all matters....

I so agree with you. Cant believe that got released. :/
Can anyone help how to downgrade to 1.5 in fossil Q Marshall watch ?

This is so helpful - thank you. One question: now I've got 1.5 back on my watch, how do I stop it from updating to 2.0? It's already done it once - reinstalling 1.5 was simpler second time round
is there any option to instal on moto360 2nd Gen?
I know this is an old thread, but something to consider is that with Android 8.0, I'm seeing notifications from apps on wear 1.5 telling me they are no longer compatible when I launch then on my Sony smartwatch 3.
Eventually, you'll have to move to wear 2.x, if you are able (smartwatch 3 is not).

I just checked and it's there
Yes man!
I just received the OTA notification 20 minutes ago and I installed it immediately! Now the tablet is updating apps, still a few minutes..
I have LG G Pad 7 WiFi only..
I can confirm, I've installed update yesterday. The only problem is the lack of space on the device (I had to uninstall many apps and clear temp files for update to proceed to the end), but this is minor issue, and i knew about this (change to ART). I was really hoping for OTA to at least 5.0, so i'm very happy with my choice right now (other option for me was Dell Venue).
Yeppa! Update completed, Lollipop on board!
First (negative) thing I noticed is an issue that also appears on LG G2 (I updated it 2 days ago): clearing Recent apps requires quite a second.. I can clearly see the round progress bar in that second.. Don't know why but I hope they'll fix..
A question to who is still on KK: how much physical space does System Data take? You can see it from Settings / Storage / Misc. Lollipop takes 4.20 GB, but I don't remember how much did KitKat..
Thanks guys..

On lollipop more space is reserved for system (v700 model)
can someone dump system from Lollipop 5.0.2 and upload it somewhere?

3.90 GB on KitKat, so it looks a like a minor increase. Downloading Lollipop OTA right now :victory: I honestly did not expect an update for this device

why not? I did, and it was one of the reason why I bought it! LG always said that the entire G Pad tablet line would have received Lollipop, and they keep their promise!
Funny for me was that usually I always read OTA / firmware update online and then receive it or manually flash (just like for example Nexus 7, LG G2, OnePlus One, all the Samsung Galaxy line etc): this is maybe the first time (except the Froyo/Gingerbread days) the OTA notif really surprised me!! Funny!

I bought it on sale and I watched good reviews, so I didn't buy it expecting an update.
Also, since day 1 it felt like a second line: there was the Pad 8.3 and 10.1, which were "famous", and then this 7.0 popped up with no publicity at all. Not really available almost anywhere (Spain), not many news or forums about it, so I didn't expect to have an update for a non-famous product.
And finally, it works soooooo good I didn't need an update. But of course, I can't resist an update, even less if it's Lollipop (the reason I bought my Nexus 5).
I check once a month anyway, and I googled V400 lollipop an hour ago just "for fun" and I saw this thread, and I was like :cyclops:
Anyway I'm really glad LG kept supporting it!

Hey. Just download LG PC Suite (used Windows) and click Check Updates on the pc suite with the tablet connected. The Suite will show you the update after a few minutes and will update via usb.
It's updating apps on bootup now, but it's lollipop and doesn't seem to have wiped (based on the number of apps being updated).
Good luck

just like me, same history.. except that on November (or maybe October??) I read news about LG explaining which phones and tablet would have been update.. the G Pad 7 was there!!
I have to admit that I never loved LG beforethe last 2 years: then I bought the G2 and I started to reconsider the thing.. the G2 is a superb device! Then LG released G3 G Flex 2, G Pad 8.3 and a few entry level phones.. What I still like is the fact that all the LG smartphones look totally different from the competitors ones, even the Bello, Joy entry entry entry entry level devices! And that narrowed bezel on the G2? Amazing!!
And so, this is the story about I started to lie LG!
And when two months ago we decided to buy a new tablet choices were he Asus MeMoPad, Asus FonePad, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite and G Pad 7. It was not a real matc, no way! G Pad 7 won!

Since I just use it to read some news in bed and not so much, didn't keep updated on it, as I do with the phone.
But I agree with you. I had the LG Optimus Black and after it didn't love LG. Looked cheap and bad. But these last couple of years they are doing great. These tablets and the G3 generation is just awesome. I fell in love with the G3S (G3 mini) although for update matters I ended up with the Nexus (which is LG lol...)
Lollipop for LG7 V400
Great I got lollipop by flashing the firmware again because of root in Android Kitkat but now I lost my root and powelroot doesn't work in Lollipop .
Anyone has a solution????????????????
Thanks Guys for your help

There is some concern as to whether or not the LG G WATCH R's chipset has a dormant wifi antenna. From what I've seen it does, and we will be able to make use of this update. This is especially true if the watch urbane is getting the update since both the G Watch R and Watch Urbane have the same exact internals.

The GWR does have the hardware for Wifi. Over on The Verge's article, they quote the android wear lead product engineer, Jeff Chang, "it will be up to each individual device maker to add Wi-Fi to future products, or retroactively update old ones with Wi-Fi support".
This will be Kernel level updates (adding the drivers to connect android wear to the wifi chip). As you mentioned, the Urbane has the same internals at the GWR. If anything, the GWR should be the second most guaranteed to have the support (next to the Urbane).

I'm one of those with a concern about whether or not the GWR supports WiFi as-built. Ideally, it does. I've seen a couple of threads here and at the Android Forums that lead me to the conclusion that it does not. I wonder if anyone ever checked with LG directly to confirm one way or the other.

Actually someone in one of the other threads discovered that the SoC on the G Watch R (Qualcomm MSM 8226) does indeed have the Wifi antenna, so we should be okay.

So then we ought to get it. If LG decides to play stupid about the GWR, however, will it be possible to try and use the Urbane's software to get it running properly?
Seems this WiFi feature will eat battery, especially if it is struggling to access a weak or distant signal.
For what I could read on FCC site, the Watch R does have WiFi chips. It has been tested as BT, BLE and DTS b/g/n.

Yes it does. On YouTube I saw some time ago a video from announcing of G Watch R where on slideshow we can see info about wifi included in GWR. Google said that they start update from LG Urbane which is the same as G Watch R so definetly we will get working wifi

LG was asked which watches would get WiFi support, and they confirmed that the G Watch R and the Urbane are both in line to have WiFi enabled with the 5.1.1 update.
Correction - Apparently some sites are now contradicting this original confirmation, including Phandroid's original article on this. Not looking as good as before...

Unfortunately that was the same article I read as well; the author, Derek Ross, said Phandroid directly contacted LG and confirmed this, and Phandroid wouldn't have kept the article online had this not been true. So by that, I'm putting my trust in Phandroid's credibility to confirm something I had all but assumed based on their watches' hardware assemblies.
OK so my phone Android Wear app updated today so what do I need now, my watch to receive an update to see if Wifi and those new features work?
LG nordic has confirmed that GWR will get wifi-support

Q?
Hi
so if I understand this correct, we need an update for the watch itself aswell as a wear update for this to work?
I got the Wear update today!

Exactly, you need both watch and app updated to use the newest functions
LG G watch R and Urbane will get WIFI - the old G watch won't sadly (since I've got both)
But as people talks about in the G watch thread, how much will it be worth anyway?
You always have your phone within hands reach anyway, and it takes energy to supply an extra antenna
http://phandroid.com/2015/04/21/lg-g-watch-missing-wifi/
I received an update today to the Android wear app with permissions to access wifi? But no Update forced to watch? Anyone else?
no wifi
But it says in the article that lg g watch r will NOT get wifi!!!
Update: A previous version of this article stated that the G Watch R and ZenWatch would in fact get WiFi support with the upcoming Android Wear OTA update. Since then, we’ve received confirmation from both LG and ASUS that those devices would not get WiFi support as originally published. We apologize.
that sucks!

This was quite a big update. Mine needed ca. 1/2 hour to update with several restarts and I needed to reset to factory and configure watch again resulting in 50% battery-loss.
So, I have a new watch (that I haven't opened, yet), and I'm thinking that I should just wait for Android Wear 2.0 to come out before my first usage, rather than install an update now, and another big update in a couple of weeks.
What do you all think?

Well as far as I know its never been confirmed our watch (original urbane) will get 2.0 I don't know they have made a statement either way actuallu. Now if you have the lte urbane yes you will get 2.0 but waiting seems silly either way. You spend all that money on a watch why not use it?
Yeah not really understanding the thought process on that. You've bought it. Just use it and enjoy it. Android wear 2.0 will be a nice chance if we get it, but there is nothing wrong with the current software.

on spanish lg urbane site it states that this watch has 2.0
as a physical button is a requirement (which the urbane has) it's very likely to get 2.0 while seeing they are putting out a good job delivering security patches.
I've read numerous sources saying the Urbane will get Wear 2. And given that it's LG's last generation of smartwatch behind only the Urbane 2nd edition, and that it fulfils all hardware requirements to get the update, it really wouldn't speak well of LG's support for their hardware if they refuse to give it the update. And strictly speaking, the Watch R should also get it given that the only difference between it and the Urbane is visual, but as that is two generations back it's perhaps expecting a little too much.
I for one will be p****d if LG leave the Urbane behind with this update.

Not really, the complaint level of AW2 is so high, of laggy performance, we may be having a favor done for us as tuning is being done before we get. There was an update for earlier released watches this last day which is getting positive feedback. So that is making me think we'll get it very soon now, I think tomorrow.

I downloaded and saved the most recent AW1.5 and AW2 DP. I tried AW2 DP and it was awful, so went back to AW1.5 which I saved in case when AW2 officially released it is still awful.
We're being done a favor getting AW2 late but now I see happy noises on the June release, I'm seeing less reason to wait. But if there is a reason its no bad thing. The only thing I can't do is Android Pay.
If anyone does have the time to try AW2 then by all means flash DP and realize its a totally different everything interface, as I've been on AW now >2 years I find it awkward interface, noobs would take less retraining.
Someone likely has the googleapis link, I just have the file locally backedup.
Android Wear 2.0 fow the W200* is finaly here (well via OTA in Korea... For us via adb sideload )

Yes I have the AT&T model, W200A. I used the minimal adb and fastboot tool to sideload the zip file from my PC. I didn't have to unlock the bootloader.
i updated my w200a today with the korea version. however it felt more like another preview than a final release. Lag is present like on the preview, overheats somewhat easily and the battery drains way faster when you are using it than when you are on 1.5. At least this is my case on the w200a. I did a fsctory reset to see if that solved but no. Same result.
I have the at&t urbane 2 LTE (unlocked)
Until today I was running developer preview (nemo-nvf41u-factory-e269c504)
I had an update come through which has given me:
build number NXH20E
(ANDROID WEAR 2.0.0.159006699)
with security patch 1st May 2017.

I'm in the US and I updated using ADB and the file captured from the ota in Korea and these numbers match exactly to mine.
Found any bugs/issues yet? I've had an occasional lag or two. Android Pay is working and I've successfully tracked runs with GPS using ghostracer paired to the phone through cell data (my main usage requirement).
Not found any bugs on mine.
I have a few side loaded apps that may have been causing the odd glitch now and again whilst on the developer preview, but nothing since the update.
(Side loaded es file explorer so I could use MP3 ringtone on the watch & Google drive to download / upload)
I'm in the US with ATT version. Just got OTA last night. So far so good.
Hey guys. Just a general question here. And, some sort of a poll here too.
Would LG roll out Android Oreo for the next update or Wear OS 3.0? Do you guys think that LG would continue to roll out updates for this watch?

Watch was abandoned way last year
Unfortunately, R.I.P this great watch....
Actually, I would guess yes - WearOS is now a layer over the firmware and it is updated as an app.
Google has said that "all devices currently on WearOS 2.0 will get 3.0
Yess definetly! They said only the LG G Watch won't get the update

Android Wear 2.0(one we have in lg urbane) != WearOS 2.0, so i think we won't have any updates.
I received the Wear OS 2.1 update today. Long live the Urbane!

The update is great. Wear OS Team worked hard.
Guys, how did you get it? My watch keeps saying 'system up to date'

I had checked a few times, but it just showed up yesterday morning. Didn't do anything special.

It is not a "system update" but just a Playstore update for the watch UI, no change in OS
Automatic if your Playstore watch apps update is set to "auto" or manual if not.

I think that the only thing to do is to wait. Did you like the update?

Yes, the left/right/up/down swiping is more intuitive and the notifications are more detailed. The watch seems snappier for most things, except the Play Store. This update fixes many of the mistakes Google made with the 2.0 update (like swiping left or right to change the watch face).
Just a heads up that my brother's LG Watch Urbane got the new UI update today. My Huawei Watch still hasn't, but that's besides the point. The update is going to happen,
I got it this morning
Also instaled 2.16 when watch few days ago offered. But don´t know, in my watch battery keep less than with older version. Will do reset today and will test tomorrow. I think that less lasting battery is because of much more notifications from phone, but will see tomorrow. I have W150.
It's great to see that our watch is still updated !
I find as well that batery life is less as before.
Before update, i could finish the day with 50%, and now, i finish at 30%.
Just got the update today!
Wow it is a lot quicker and more smooth. They added cool stuff like battery saving mode, more settings when swiping down, easier to read the notifications and so on...
I actually liked it a lot and happy to see it still gets the UI updates. I cant tell anything about the battery life since the update happened a few hours ago. Great work LG!
