bootloader is unlocked and twrp installed but for the life of me, i could not get root to work, so now i want to convert it to GPE if possible and get rid of the Telstra australia branding at the same time. would like to have the latest version if possible or a previous one then update. what are my best options please? do i need to go back to stock first? i'm totally lost now from all the things i read here and elsewhere.i thought to ask first before attempting anything else. Thanks in advance
Your phone is S-ON and you can't convert to gpe, only you can do is to flash one of the roms based on gpe, you can find them in developing section.

I flashed this file version 5.1 GPE (HTC-ONE-M7_GPE-5.1_LITE_CMERT_v2) without doing anything extra to the condition of the phone i mentioned above and everything seems to work just fine. Would love to update to marshmallow though! any ideas?
Thanks

Hello, I recently unlocked, rooted and installed a custom Rom on my HTC one, I'm still s-on. Question is and I hope someone gives me a some what dumbed down response. I'm running the latest viperone Rom and I wanted to try the lollipop based roms out, now here's where I get confused!, they require latest firmware? My phone before rooting etc was KK 4.3. Anyone able to help?

Its simple really .. you need s-off
reason is the current 7.x.401 firmware is not official (it's leaked) and will only work with s-off
s-on can only flash signed firmware of your current version or newer
some of lollipop roms need the new firmware.
you could try this one it may work if you like GPE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-google-play-edition-lollipop-v1-00-t2963927
I've been reading up on how to s-off but unsure what would work, firewater has been discontinued and sunshine I have to pay. Would getting firewater program from someone work?

Sunshine is the only way, or you can just wait a month or 2 for the official lollipop update to come out.
Sorry unsure what you mean?, do you mean when lollipop comes out on a custom Rom as I can't do OTA for official HTC updates.

Your phone is easy to return to stock, just flash the below guru reset file, select stock radio and stock recovery during the flash, when the flash is finished and phone reboots, start updating., the guru reset will wipe everything so be sure to backup anything you want to keep first.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358543706
Or wait a couple of months for the signed firmware to appear and up to date custom lollipop rims to appear.
Ah that's great. Thank you guys for clearing it up for me !

Hi mate. I'm s-on, HTC Dev unlocked. I am fishing everything and not having issues, or nothing I can't correct easily.
I have attached a list of roms I've installed, I just follow normal install procedures, like any CM based ROM.
Been on Skydragon and currently on Santod Google plus edition. It is awesome. Just so you know.
Hey guys,
So a year ago I gave my girlfriend my old M7 because she still had an old Sony Ericsson and I thought it was time for an upgrade.
Now she's living with me and I wanted to update the M7 to (preferably) Lollipop as it's still suck on 4.4.4
The current ROM is cm-1120141008-SNAPSHOT and I think the phone has the super CID so I should be able to use every rom (iirc).
My question now is: How would I start to update this thing to Lollipop? Do I need to update the firmware or something? Because thats basically my problem.
Some tips or a guide on how I need to continue would be nice. Maybe some suggestions for new roms as well. Thanks in Advance!
EDIT: So I looked it up in bootloader and I have super CID and S-OFF. The hboot version is 1.57.0000. RADIO is 4T.29.3218.08
If you need any more info I'd be happy to post it.

If you want to avoid buggy rom I would stay away from Cyanogenmod as there is no stable build of CM12 yet for the M7 (only nightly builds).
Updating to stock lollipop + HTC sense or stock lollipop GPE version using a ruu might be the simplest solution. You could also update the firmware and flash a lollipop custom rom. Its up to you. I can help you in both cases.

Download the GPE ruu (5.11.1700.3) and save it in the same folder where adb.exe and fastboot.exe are installed on your computer
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944.
Change your MID number to PN0712000 using this tool or this guide
Then flash the GPE ruu:
Open the command window and type:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Your phone will reboot in ruu mode, you should see a black screen with silver HTC logo.
Code:
fastboot flash zip PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_STOCK_UI_MR_Google_WWE_5.11.1700.3_ ... .30.3218.21_10.33I.1718.01L_release_403339_signed.zip
fastboot flash zip PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_STOCK_UI_MR_Google_WWE_5.11.1700.3_ ... .30.3218.21_10.33I.1718.01L_release_403339_signed.zip
fastboot reboot
Then check for ota update, you should have one or two iirc.
Flashing the ruu will wipe everything from the phone like if it was brand new so backup your important files before if any.
That seemed to have worked! Thank you so much. She's now setting it up. I'll comment or will send you a pm if I have any further questions or problems! Thanks again!

Hello all XDA members,
I am looking for the correct RUU.exe for my HTC One M7. Its on Vodafone UK (VODAP001) and HBOOT 1.61.000 and is S-On. I have already relocked the bootloader and flashed the stock recovery back. I have found and tried many RUU.zip from here and HTC but I have learned that as I am S-on I am unable to go this route. This HTC One m7 was running a custom ROM and TWRP but since I am giving it my Father I needed it back to stock and ready to receive any OTA updates that Vodafone throw out.
Thank you all

The latest RUU for that version is 7.18.161.21. Since your phone is S-ON you can only flash RUU that are the same version or higher than your actual version (7.18.161.30). There is a way to bypass this. Go to this thread and read at the end of my post (post #2) under "how to downgrade with s-on". Once done and your version-main is showing 7.18.161.2 instead of 7.18.161.30 , flash the 7.18.161.21 RUU using instructions of post #1 (RUU file is at post #2). Don't forget to use the fastboot version provided at post #1, the normal fastboot version won't work to flash a lollipop RUU.

Sorry for the delayed answer.
First, going back S-ON wasn't required and it's also a bad move. Having S-OFF can help a lot when troubleshooting your phone. I don't know what cyanogenmod rom version you tried to install (cyanogenmod roms are so old) but are you sure the one you tried was compatible with the M7_WLS variant? This phone variant will only work with custom roms made specifically for this variant and must also be flashed with a custom recovery compatible with WLS . Just saying because this is the most common error made by people having this phone variant.
Now, what ruu version are you trying to install? The one you need is 6.23.651.10 and can be found here:
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...99.2143463114.1556074529-999987239.1556074529
Don't forget that since you went back S-ON you now must have a locked or re-locked bootloader to install a RUU. It won't install if it's unlocked.
If not already done, you can re-lock your bootloader using fastboot from a command window using this single command:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
then install the RUU
Any expert/developer please help me recover my camera..
The story was I was on stock HTC Sence (Kitkat but later on updated to Lollipop by OTA updates) then I decided to try Cyanogenmod 13 on my HTC One M7 when I installed, during calls the microphone was not working properly then I installed Cyanogenmod 14 Unofficial but that was on ALPHA stage at that time and it was consuming too much battery so I again removed and flashed Cyanogenmod 13 but again that MIC problem.. Than I thought to download the stock firmware from htc website to flash. Not connecting with 4G Network???
I tried so many ROMs Custom & Stock but my phone connects to 3G network and shows only H,H+ & 3G near to the signal bars on status bar. I think my phone is 4G/LTE supported and it also shows option in the settings for connecting with 4G/LTE network. I am living in 4G coverage areaa I tried to check my SIM on other phones and it works but on phone I am not able to connect with with the 4G network.
May be it is also an issue related to software but is there anything related to hardware which I should check please guide me.
Thank you...

7.17.1540.51 is the latest Developer Edition version so I guess you've flashed the Developer Edition RUU from their website (that's fine) and not the At&t version from the link you've posted (which is 7.23.502.9). If after flashing a RUU your camera doesn't work, its probably an hardware problem. Flashing a RUU restore all the software and firmware back to stock so if something still doesn't work after this, there is nothing you can flash that will solve the problem.
I would try to flash the RUU again and make sure it's flashing completely (no error code) just to make sure. If the camera isn't back after that then you'll need to send it for repair. Backup everything you need first, the RUU will wipe your phone.

Thanks for your help I tried you RUU but still the same problem :crying: Now I am sure its a hardware issue.. I will send my mobile to for camera repair.
Secondly yes I installed the correct RUU the link I have pasted was wrong which I correct later you can check the post.
Third, Why my phone is not connecting with a 4G network??

Check your APN is correctly configured (refer to your carrier settings).
Currently I am facing a camera issue from long time and tried all Custom ROMs and a stock firmware downloaded from htc site but my both cameras along with flash are not responding. I am dead sure that there is some software issue not hardware because when I install Unofficial Cyanogenmod 14.1 my flash light starts working. I tried all marshmallow and lollipop custom roms but no luck..
Now I need help to go back on my stock firmware but the older android version may be 4.1.x so please help me choose the correct firmware version for me so I can test the cameras.
Here are my phone details HTC One M7

Your phone is S-OFF, supercid and supermid... you can flash any RUU you'd like. Its currently running the developer edition firmware so if you just want to re-stock your phone on that version, flash the 7.17.1540.51 RUU. Flashing the 7.19.401.51 RUU is also a good option if you want to have the international version instead of the developer version. If after successfully flashing any RUU your problem is still there, its not software related.
