I got 136 Android 4.3 no root and BL

Hey hi,
I want to install CM11 (Android 4.4.2) I got as stated 136, as far as I understand I need to downgrade than root than backup than unlock than backup again (just in cace) than upgrade and than install cm 11? Is that correct?
Or do I need to unlock earlier? Or later?
You have to downgrade to .534, Root with Bin4ry, Install DualRecovery, Backup TA, Update to .136 with the instruction by NUT and pre-rooted .136. Then follow the instruction to Unlock Bootloader. You have to have Unlocked Bootloader to install CM11. Do not flash it on Locked one because you will brick your phone. Also after Unlock Bootloader you Warranty will be void. Read very carefully before attempt anything.

[Q] Steps to root but keep stock software

Hi, I was just wondering what the steps were to keep stock software and root so I can still install OTA updates. I saw the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265618 but I wasn't quite sure under 'Rooting Stock ROM', whether this meant I had to have an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, just an unlocked bootloader or whether I could flash this through the stock recovery.
Thanks!

Step require to root is to first unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery like TWRP, then root using TWRP.
When you unlock the bootloader, the process will wipe /data partition. This include the /data/preload folder were HTC preloaded apps are (flashlight, calculator, soundhound and much more). In alsmost each ota updates, some of these apps are patched but because they were wiped, the ota installation will fail. So in order to still receive ota, you must restore the entire content of that folder after unlocking bootloader. This can be done using someone's backup, guru reset rom, or a RUU.
You'll also need to restore stock recovery for your version which is needed to install ota updates.
You will probably need to re-root after each ota, which is not a really hard thing to do.

XT1064 on Lollipop. How do I relock bootloader?

My bootloader is currently unlocked and I want to relock it. I have an XT1064. I've tried downgrading to 21.11.17 and following the instructions for KitKat but it never works. What can I do?
Unfortunately I have yet been successful doing this. I think it's because some parts of the firmware can't be downgraded. I keep getting pre flash failure
i did just for kicks... and was successful on XT1069.
from what I understand when this problem happens, is related to the ROM you used to do the process that is described in this thread follow these step with a ROM that is perfect and will succeed.
I did with the good xml ROM for my device and it was perfect.
try other ROM xml file... all i now here
One thing, to receive an OTA is not need to be with bootloader locked...
But you must have a untouched original ROM and Recovery installed on the device...
So no root original ROM and recovery just that.
I say this because many worry that is need to have a locked bootloader to receive OTA, and is not.
Have you tried locking after being on 5.0 firmware
I don't remember (i think was 4.4.4 to 4.4.4)... but i will try (5.0.2 to 4.4.4 and lock it) and report. OK, maybe today if not tomorrow...
In theory is the same friend of my did form 5.0.0 to 4.4.4 no problem...

Pretty sure you can only relock 4.4.4 bootloaders (motoboot.img) with the oem lock
If you have updated to a lollipop 5.0.x bootloader you cant downgrade from a 5.0 boot loader and hence cant relock it (yet?)

You can downgrade if use a ROM or a backup to update. the bootloader will remaining the same.
I dont know if you update via OTA to L if the OTA is updating the boot loader...
But yes you can downgrade from 5.0.x to 4.4.4 regards the bootloader if did not update don't see way will not re-lock, if update the OS and bootloader maybe because will not recognize the OS and ROM even if it is all original, but i think it should...
I will tested and report... downgrade and re-lock the bootloader... But my bootloader is the same version it did not update because i use a ROM or a TWRP backup do upgrade to L.
I will update the ROM i using do a clean flash, before i will try the downgrade and re-lock process. :good:

yeah i'm talking bootloader I know you can go up or down between 4.4.4 roms and 5.0 roms , i've tried mfastboot, fastboot (different versions) as people say 'only this version works' and so far not found anything that works
Ever since I upgraded to 5.0 then downgraded 4.4.4 I can not lock the boot loader. I don't think anyone will be able to until there is 5.0 firmware

Getting root and keeping it. Lots of questions

Here's the story so far. I'm trying to get root access on a Z3 compact. I was at the latest Ota firmware as of January 2016. I just unlocked my bootloader (in Linux) and now I guess I'm at at the stock ROM that ships with the phone? Android 5.1.1, build 23.4.A.1.200
I have downloaded CM12 nightly, but I'm afraid to flash it. I also have been reading several guides for rooting. Namely, this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
Now I have the 23.0.A version downloaded. If I flash that, what next? Run giefroot? But wwherw do I go from there. If I upgrade through Ota updates do I keep root?
Are there any Ota ROMS that are already rooted that I can flash?
You should make your copy before open the bootloader.
Now with you open bootloader the next step is flash a custom recovery to get root acces
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/orig-development/recovery-twrp-2-8-7-0-18-8-2015-t3181623
you can not update via OTA because your bootloader is unlock and your drm gone but if yu want update you can use flashtool and create a prerooted firmware with PRFCreator tool

I'm not too concerned with the DRM. But now my next step is to install Twrp? Can I just fash that from fastboot and the fastboot tool? I just searched (Googled) and couldn't find z3c specific downloads or instructions. Does anyone have a good guide to follow? I was reading that link you posted and I looked like you already needed root to install TWRP

Ways to unlock bootloader of japanese so 02g converted to international d5803?

I converted docomo japanese so 02g to d5803 and now wants to unlock
bootloader for root?
any guide ?
You don't need to unlock the bootloader to root. There are several ways to do it, but what I did was:
- install dual recovery @ http://nut.xperia-files.com/html/xzdualrecovery-manual.html
(you might need to downgrade to stock 4.4.4 first @ https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66275977&postcount=2030 )
- then you can either download or create a pre-rooted ROM, then install using custom recovery
Here's a list of stock ROMS if you want to create a pre-rooted ROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706
You only want to install 4.4.4 temporarily, to install a custom recovery, so it doesn't matter what language it is. And I would try installing Dual Recovery without downgrading first. It might work. I don't know.
It will work for any OFFICIAL ROM. If you want unofficial, you have to unlock the bootloader, which is a separate process. Never done it, but there are guides on these forums.
