LTE Connection has dropped, WIFI works fine. - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have tried multiple ROMs and multiple radios, but my phone drops network connection.
Currently running a Lineage OS 7.1.2 dated April 15th and the baseband is MDM9625_104670.31.05.44R.
The weird thing is that the LTE light shows signal, but I'm not connected.
Here's what I've tried:
Toggling Airplane mode.
Toggling Data Roaming
Changing the preferred network type
Changing the System Select.
Resetting the Carrier settings - (update PRL) (Update device config)
Try different APNs.
Network settings reset.
I can't think of anything else to try.

[Q] Mobile Network - Connection Failed

I turned my Mobile Network (3g data) connection off for the night to conserve battery, and the next morning when I tried to connect again via the quick settings, it didn't connect.
Under settings it has the caption, "Connection Failed".
The network was working fine for ages prior to this, and on a few occasions, turning off Mobile Network for the night was fine.
I've tried resetting the phone and taking out the battery + SIM for a few minutes.
I've also tried re-entering APN settings with no luck.
I'm with Vodafone Australia, running the stock 2.3.3 virgin au rom.
Nobody else on vodafone is failing (relatively speaking )

Update:
It was a 3G widget messing everything up, thanks letmedanz
Any ideas?

Did you try wifi connection?
just wondering..
i am quite certain your problem is with the apn settings.
try deleting the existent apn and enter a new one. save it and try reconnecting...
though not very important, you could check for the port number to enter in the apn settings with vodafone.
also, if you are using any third party apn modification tools or even a simple 3G on-off widget, the settings do get wasted.
if you do, uninstall them, re-enter apn settings and try

CM7.2 ignoring APN server value?

Since I'm nearing my paltry 200MB data limit (t-mobile), I decided to alter the APN server (APN->APN) from "epc.tmobile.com" to "removed" to prevent any data from accidentally being used.
However I can still use the data network/browser and the status bar shows E/3G.
Is this normal? (CM7.2 ignoring APN server value?)
Edit: Maybe its picking up an APN from the SIM and using it?
Notes:
Data enabled: checked
Tried turning Airplane mode On and then OFF, it still connects to the 2G data network.
Tried rebooting, it still connects to the 2G data network.
I have no other APNs defined.

OB loses data connection intermittently

Whether in sleep or awake mode the phone will lose the 2G data connection. Network signal is full strength. If I disable mobile data and enable, connection is restored. But after about 10-15 mins same issue happens.
I have tried all sorts of ROMs now. Huexxx, CICI, CM10, CM7...Seems like a hardware or network problem.
Customer service keeps saying to use the APN settings properly and are of no avail.
Any other ideas..??
Thanks.
Have you try using another sim card from another operator?

CM 10.1.3 GSM-patched stability issues

Gents and dames,
I recently updated my wifes D4 to CM 10.1.3 (official) and reapplied the GSM patch manually by editing the build.prop file according to the directions by Mentor here:
http://www.internauta37.altervista.org/how-and-patch-fully-enable-gsm-verizon-cdma-phones-android
After re-entering APN settings, the phone registers on the GSM/UMTS/HSDPA network and calls/texts can be made.
Unfortunately, this isn't very stable. From time to time, the mobile network is lost completely. No 3G, no 2G, the status icon says "No Service".
A reboot doesn't solve the issue, usually connectivity will be restored after scanning for networks 1-5 times (which is slow as heck and sometimes crashes).
CM 10.1.3 is running on SafeStrap (3.65 iirc) Slot 1. No other slots have been made.
I am suspecting either a build.prop setting or a crashing driver(?), maybe a combination.
My questions:
What can I log/monitor to find out what happens when mobile connectivity is lost?
Does anyone have this problem (and a solution)?

Question Force Wifi calling with Tasker

Hello!
I live in a concrete structure so I get pretty bad cellular reception and rely on wifi calling for calls/texts. I've tried the following method to force wifi calling to use wifi preferred whenever connected to a wifi network and not switch back to cellular preferred but I'm not having any success. Perhaps there's been an update to Android since those instructions came out?
Force Wifi preferred
Any help and/or other methods would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Something else that could work is setting up a task to turn on airplane mode when connected to my home wifi network and then reconnecting to the wifi network since that would force wifi calling to use "wifi preferred" but I can't figure out how to set it up via Tasker. Tried a few things but it doesn't work. Thanks!
