S3 mini wont turn on - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone model is gt-i8190t and its rooted via kingroot. I wanted to install twrp recovery to install cyanogen rom. Before that i went to nandroid to create a backup and at the middle of the process it says it stopped working so i clised it. Then i used ez unlock to unlock bootloader which it said successful. So i went to rom manager and pressed the button called reboot into twrp recovery. Then the phone got switched off and never turned on again. Not even the charging icon shows up. Tried removing the battery for a while that didnt work.
Please guyz i really need your help. Thanks alot.

Recovery wont boot

Hey everyone, I installed recovery on my phone and it worked fine but after doing so I tried to install a ROM. This ended up with my phone being bricked and so I flashed the original FTF file and now it works fine again. I rooted the phone after this and installed recovery and it said it installed properly with no errors. I then tried to boot my phone in to recovery by pressing either volume key when the green led shows up with the sony splash screen but nothing happens. I've tried it loads of times using both up and down volume keys but it does not go to recovery anymore. Any help?

sorry but what recovery are you using
TWRP/CWM I've tried both of them neither of them boot up the phone just boots up as normal even if I press the volume keys. I've installed the CWM for locked bootloader now though and it still wont work, that being the case my phone is a locked bootloader.
what device are you using and which recovery?
i rmb ZL has issues with CWM recovery like this.
Z, havent encounter any yet.
If you cant boot into recovery then try installing it again.

have you got superuser/super su installed and working ? when flashing recovery supersu asks for ADB approval
Well it would be an Xperia Z being in this category of the forum? But Ive tried re-installing and removing completely and installing again. Each time it seems to install correctly but even if the green led comes on at start up it wont boot in to the recovery mode
I even tried using XZRecovery to install it on the phone itself but that didnt let me boot in either

Yeah sorry for not answering previously I do have it installed but as I said, I gave XZRecovery su permissions and it installed TWRP recovery then I rebooted but this didnt work either. I just tried Recovery Reboot from play store and it just gives my phone a normal reboot

Okay try installing this one dont know of anyone which this hasnt work for, before go into supersu and look at app's, has ADB got a green or red hash
I tried that one before and it didn't work. Just checked my superuser and it seems it doesn't even have ADB listed, just some rooted apps I've used. I tried setting it to always allow in preferences but that didn't change anything.

do this
1-flash "another" ftf file
2-repair it with sony update service
3-go to settings > backup and reset > factory data reset (internal wipe)
4-root
5-install CWM
do not try to restore your previous rom or whatever. especially when youre jumping from one rom to another.
Start fresh.
This will probably work but I used the unbranded ftf file on a clean install so im not sure how much differentit'll be

I tried to do this but when I connect my phone to a pc nothing comes up, no pop-up, nothing on the phone, it doesnt even charge. It does charge however when I put it in a plug socket.. I think this could have something to do with it in the first place, my problem still isnt resolved what else can I do?
Are you stuck at step 1?
Try the newest flashtool (I think people are having issues with it, but worth a try) or the v4 flashtool.
And try another ftf file, don't use the same one that you used, or trying to use.

[Q] HTC Desire 500 Dual Sim Unable to boot after CWM

Hi,
My device is HTC Desire 500 (5060) Dual sim purchased 7 days back.
Android Version - 4.2.1
Yesterday I successfully unlock bootloader.
After unlocking boot loader I copied and pasted CWM-SuperSU-v0.98.zip downloaded from 'http://theunlockr.com/2013/12/20/root-htc-desire-500-dual-sim-version/'
However I was not able to enter recovery and apply the above downloaded zip, as soon as i select the recovery, the phone was getting rebooted. Hence I tried "fastboot erase cache" ("http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723670")
However this also did not help, so I had flashed 'CWMRecovery_D500_Philz.img' via adb (http://theunlockr.com/2013/12/20/install-custom-recovery-htc-desire-500-dual-sim-version/)
After flashing above, I entered the recovery mode and installed CWM-SuperSU-v0.98.zip via install from sd card mode in recovery.
Post this, the phone was booted up and i was able to see SuperSU, checked with rootchecker and phone status was Rooted!
While opening SU, it was asking for updating binary and while clicking on 'Update', it was saying update failed and phone got rebooted.
This happened for 3 times, hence I decided not to update SU binary and I update the supersu directly from google play.
However even after updating the latest version of Supersu, it was still asking to update binary which I ignored as the phone was getting rebooted.
Main purpose of rooting the phone was to install Link2sd to move certain apps to sd card and removing unnecessary apps. I had uninstalled google play movies, play books and play music.
After that I restarted the phone. Post restarting I was not able to move any app to sd and it was asking that no root permission, while in supersu there was permission granted for link to sd.
I checked the root status and now it was showing your device is not rooted!!
Again I tried to update supersu and it was giving me message that update via CWM for HTD device, hence i clicked on ok and power down the phone. After powering down the phone I tried to enter recovery via volume - and power button same as i did previously, however it did not work.
Tried to power on the phone, it did not work. inserted wall charger and the orange light was blinking but phone did not come to life. removed battery for half n hour along with sd card and sim card but no luck. Charged the phone over night, but still the orange led is flashing (no vibrates). Today handed over the phone to my wife and she visited the service center, the guy said come after half n hour I will check, after half n hour he said that you have rooted your phone and it is not under warranty, you have to get the main board replaced which would cost me around 5500 INR ($84).
Now my wife said that when she had a look the phone was powered on and she said that the guy also showed her that phone is rooted cause he has found supersu app:fingers-crossed: in the phone.
However as soon as he removed the phone from charger again it went dead. I have asked my wife to collect the phone.
Kindly help.:fingers-crossed:
Hi,
yes, you realised that you must flash a custom recovery via fastboot. You were not rooted after flashing supersu.zip because HTC phones have kernels with some kind of no-root protection. So for you could be solution to flash some custom rom with non-stock kernel(or flash only new kernel, that should be enough). I suppose there are some roms for your phone. Try to find rom which is almost stock, but with some additional features, like root access. BTW, this is Desire thread, no Desire 500, so try to find somewhere else.

Really thanks a lot for your reply as it has given me some hope. It will be a great help if you can guide me where to find custom ROM for Desire HD 500 dual sim as this model was launched in November 2013. Also if you can help me to guide to the HTC Desire 500 Thread. In device search I could not find my device listed on XDA hence I had to post in HTC Desire forum

Try to flash this kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600294. On post #24 is written, that this is working also on dual sim model. So with this kernel it should be all right (it disables the HTC System Write Protection which causes your problems). Good luck

Thanks all for the help. Things proceeded till now are as below. Service center guy asked to replace mainboard for 5.5K INR. I asked my wife to take the mobile back to home. When he plugged in the phone in charger it was booted and everything was working fine, when he plugged it out of the charger it went off.
My wife asked him again to put it in charger but it did not boot up (Waited for 15 minutes) and only orange led was flashing.
She asked him to check with another battery which is charged.
so service center guy tried his mobiles battery which was 80% charged in my mobile, but phone did not boot and same orange led was being flashed if plugged into charger with different battery.
After taking the phone back to home she just plugged in the charger and after around 10 minutes it came back to life itself (Without even touching the phone). Battery was 0% after around 3 hours of charging battery was fully charged to 100%, I asked my wife to remove the phone from charger and insert the sim card. Till now it is working proper.
I could not understand that why phone's battery was not getting charged even if orange led was flashing and it was plugged in to the charger whole night and today suddenly it charged and phone switched on without even touching the phone.
Same problem here .. Orange light after Custom Recovery & Gapps ......
i charge whole 2 hours but still dead .. not going to recovery mode
I am also facing the same problem. I flashed SuperSU and later its not starting. Screen is just black. Not able to boot into recovery mode. Orange LED flashes when I plug in the charger. I do not know what to do. Anyone has any idea ??

If you can enter fastboot mode (hold power and volume-), try flashing cwm or twrp found in the ultimate thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597314). If you cannot enter fastboot mode, you phone is hardbricked. Go to a service center
If installing cwm or twrp works, follow filwatt's tutorial about getting back to stock.
Edit: cwm download is found in post #538

Thanks for your reply.
I am not able to enter fastboot also. Holding volume down + Power button does nothing.
Few minutes back I observed that my phone vibrated 5 times while plugged in. Does it indicate anything ?

I removed the battery and waited for some 20 mins as suggested in another thread..then put everything back it turned ON. But still I feel this phone is very vulnerable
You need to turn off fast boot under power options
Sent from my HTC Desire 500 using xda app-developers app
Phone won't start after shutdown
My phone won't start once I shut it down. I have to remove the battery. Wait for some 10-15 mins and put everything back to start it again.
Anyone else facing the same problem ??
Boot up problem
yesterday I unlocked the boot loader successfully and after that i flashed cwm recovery. On CMD screen status for flashing the recovery was OK but after that the phone went dead and not booting up. I had removed the battery and put it back but no luck except the orange LED is blinking if I connect the phone with charger. So anyone here with solution for this problem?

Stuck in bootloader with no OS, please help!

I installed the Android Revolution HD One 81.0 ROM onto my phone everything was a success but when it was going to reboot it said that Superuser was not installed. It asked me if I wanted to install superuser and I said yes but for some reason it didnt take me back to recovery to allow and istall superuser and it just rebooted. After that it stayed in the boot up screen for the longest and so I restarted and the same thing happened over and over again. I was able to bet back into recovery to re install the ROM wbich I did and tried it all over sgain but the same thing happened. I went into recovery once again and installed superuser with no problem then when I tried to reboot it siad that there was no OS and if I was sure that I wanted to reboot.
Now Im stuck at the bootloader. No OS and for some reason relocked. I have tried the RUU but the pc doesn't recognize that the phone is connected. What can I do? Please help me!

Try removing the battery and plugging the phone in to the PC.
Start SP Tools with CWM set in the scatter and only recovery ticked
Press Download in SP tools and then insert the battery
CWM should download to phone
If that fails repeat but plug the phone in once you press Download, then insert the battery.

Omg..i have almost exactly the same problem and the solution that MrAAnderson suggested didn't work. Here's how i ended in this problem.I was running VIBEUI_V3.0_1602_7.407.1_DEV_K50-T5 ROM on TWRP recovery made By Pr1nc3V app Lenovo K3 Note Manager [v2.1].Since i had annoying bug with "R" (roaming icon) and "gapps stopped working" issue i wanted to re-flash same ROM.I entered into TWRP recowery, cleared dalvik+cache, rebooted into recovery again. Now i wanted to flash ROM,but it didn't flash it gave me an error, same thing happens if i try to flash stock recovery (i even tried naming ROM and recovery as "recovery.zip" and "update.zip").Rebooted the phone but i'm also stucked on welcome screen where i can't pass it because of "Unfortunately,WLAN stopped working".
Tried to flash ROM and stock recovery with SPFlashTool but the tool doesn't see phone at all, same as Lenovo K3 Note Manager by Pr1nc3V .Right now i'm running out of solutions for this mess i created, any advice will help.Help me please to restore my phone.
EDIT: i just realized that i actually made a "factory reset" in TWRP recovery..not just wipe data, cache and dalvik.....what are my options now folks?
Ok i'm happy to announce that i resolved my problem (after a panic mode on,lol). Here is what i did..
1. Obviously you have to get back on your stock (original, ugly chinese-english one) recovery (in case you already didn't..).To do that i used SP Flash tool.(i wouldn't go into details but if you need just ask).
After that we have following situation..stock recovery + dev ROM (which isn't working well).
2.If you try to flash any ROM in this state it will fail (based on my experience,i tried to flash exactly same ROM which is already installed..no way.).So now next step is to get a CUSTOM (TWRP or CM) recovery, again flashing it with SP Flash tools.
From this point you can choose wher would you go...STOCK rom ,MODDED one ...anything actually.I hope i clarified a bit.
sptools is not detecting my device

URGENT - Need help with S5570

Hey guys
Samsung Galaxy Mini 5570 is a pretty old device now and definitely not worth to talk about, but It's for my aunt and she said i HAVE to fix it otherwise she will kick my butt.
This is the whole story:
Phone was running a very low android version (it was 2.1 or something) that i could barely install apps on it (Just installed WhatsApp), I decided to upgrade it to a higher version so i could install other applications like Line and Telegram for her, so basically i had to flash CWM file first because it was required, I flashed it using this link:
http://www.droidthunder.com/root-install-clockworkmod-cwm-recovery-samsung-galaxy-minipop-gt-s5570/
They said flash the cwm file and factory reset your phone but i flashed the cwm file and rebooted my phone without factory reset, everything was working fine :good: but i decided to follow the instruction so i rebooted into the recovery mode and factory reseted my phone (by my phone i mean her phone, but i'm gonna say my phone instead) and guess what, it never booted up again. stuck on Samsung logo.
But i could go into the download and recovery mode, so basically i followed this instruction:
http://www.droidthunder.com/update-samsung-galaxy-minipop-gt-s5570-android-4-2-1-cyanogenmod-10-1/
which is from the same guy, I flashed it using recovery mode and flashed gapps too, everything went normal without any errors. So i rebooted my phone and ............
a black screen poped up, I was really worried because i couldn't boot my phone, nor could i go into the recovery or download mode. I don't know if i could or not but the only thing I'm getting right now is a black screen or a backlight.
The only thing that seems to be working is when i hold Power+Volume UP button, my laptop can detect my phone (as Samsung CDMA Technologies) but can not flash anything using Odin, it stucks on "setup connection" message. Nothing else is working, I tried:
Home+power+volume down
Home+power+volume down+volume up
Power+volume down
Power+home
etc
I also tried a hundred different ways like completely uninstalling the drivers (with or without kies) pulling battery out, try those key combination while battery is out and reinsert battery while holding them but nothing is working.
I found this article yesterday which is for unbricking the hard bricked phones, but ADB can not detect my phone:

Please help me guys, And do not suggest me to take it in Customer Service because i would if i could.
Thanks in advance
