Unlock Bootloader & Root = No Fingerprint for apps? - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

Hey guys!
So I got my Mi5 around a week ago, last night I got around to finally unlocking the bootloader and then installing TWRP and rooting the phone.
This morning I noticed that I now have to log into my online banking app manually with a username and password as it no longer asks me for my fingerprint to login.
This is extremely frustrating, is there anyway to fix this so that I am still able to log into certain apps via my fingerprint and not a username / password?
I know there were some warning, however it just mentioned that it would be less safe. Not that the feature would be removed.
Thanks,
Psy

[Q] Phone locked on alternate password prompt. password forgotten

Hello everybody,
I have got the galaxy s5 mini of my colleague's son between my hands, because his phone is locked on the alternate fingerprint password prompt and - guess what - he forgot this password.
I have been browsing for a while trying to find a solution, alas none of them worked:
- Device manager on his google account: although the phone is registered in the play store and I can see all his apps, the phone is not registered in the device manager
- as suggested here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54742824&postcount=13 : try several times until I get prompted for the google credentials: I tried to input wrong password, but after 5 attempts it makes me wait for 30 seconds and then it starts all over again. no google password prompt..
Is there a way to bypass or reset this password? the only thing we got are his google account credentials.
If it is not possible then I guess I will need to wipe and reset the phone, but we want to recover the pictures of his newborn sister first.... any way to recover pictures on a locked phone? It is not rooted yet but I guess I'll have to root it in order to do that
Any help would be much appreciated
thank you
Think you are lost. Only if the pictures are on the ext sd card and not encrypted you get the photos...
Well in the end we managed to unlock the phone via the samsung "find my phone" interface.

OnePlus 3 A3003 - Locked out by Google Find My Device

Hi all
So I have an issue I hope the XDA community can help me out with. My girlfriend forgot her phone after a class, panicked, locked the phone via the 'Find my Device' service, but got it back the day after. Shouldn't be much of a problem except that we cannot unlock the phone at all.
1. We can log in and see the phone via the links below. The first link gives the option to set a new password, but since she has a pattern lock this is overwritten. All other functions via these sites seems to work.
https://myaccount.google.com/find-your-phone
https://www.google.com/android/find
2. When trying to unlock the phone it will not accept the normal pattern. She has also tested her previous pattern, but no luck. It tells her the pattern was incorrect and displays a timed delay for the next unlock attempt. She is 100% certain she's using the correct pattern as it is the same as on her work phone.
Even after 20+ attempts we do not get a prompt to reset the password or account recovery via the Gmail account associated with the phone.
3. USB Debugging is not enabled and standard recovery mode. ADB sideload works, but no luck with any of the various pattern reset packages. Normal ADB commands doesn't work (error:closed) so can't remove gesture.key (Newbie in this area)
4. Only reason we haven't done a factory reset is that she's a musician and have some demo files on the phone that were not backed up and she doesn't have any automatic sync going on... Despite I have told her to enable this many many times:-/
So we are getting a bit desperate trying to get the files off the device. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Private Space password

Hello guys, i have an issue with my P20 Pro. I lost my PrivateSpace password. The fingerprint isnt working and i cant remember my pass. Is there any chance to get my files from PrivateSpace without using my password? Maybe some tricks with encrypted files or something else.. Please help
I think they are lost unless you remember them unfortunately. I had the same issue but in the end I had to back up my mainspace and reset the phone
If it was that easy to get into the private space then it would be useless
It will be the same password you set to unlock your phone in the event your fingerprint unlock no longer works or any other unlock method (such as pin or pattern) is forgotten

Unlock PIN not recognized and phone blocked

Hi all, feel silly posting a question like this but I am completely out of ideas at this point.
This morning I woke up and my P30 pro asked me to unlock it through PIN instead of using fingerprint (it usually does this sometime during the day "for security reasons"). Put my usual PIN, same one I am using since 20 years on all my mobile phone... PIN not recognized. Did it again various times paying attention, still no luck.
Things I did till now:
- Rebooted and retried, no luck
- Rebooted in recovery, safe mode, retried, no luck again
I am trying to unlock it since hours and after 3 wrong attempts I am blocked for 1 hour. I am absolutely sure that the PIN I am using is the correct one, anybody in the forum ever had a similar issue? And any idea on how I can solve this?
I own it since July 2019, never did a factory reset, phone upgraded to latest rom EMUI 12. There is a way I can at least access the internal memory to save some data? Photos are backup using google photos, but I would like to keep the original images before trying with a factory reset from recovery menu.
Thanks
Hey, I have exactly the same issue today. It asks me for a pin and I use the correct pin but it does not unlock. Did you find a solution?
Hey again,
I found the solution on my side. After the update the lock screen pin was replaced with another's app password (bank app screen password in my case). In order to be able to try many different passwords you are using to access different apps on phone and bypass waiting time:
Solution
1) Find old android phone and format it
2)Set up the old phone and use the gmail account you have on your p30 pro.
3) Select to restore from gmail and it will ask for lock screen password.
4) You can try many different passwords without waiting and when the password is accepted you can use it to unlock you are p30 pro.

Hi @apoelultras , now that you are saying that to me I just remembered that exactly the day before I also changed the PIN of a baking app on my phone! In the meantime I also tried other PINs and I finally unblocked the P30pro using a very obvious PIN (my birthday date), that for instance was the same PIN I momentary put in the banking app (I usually access it using fingerprint).
But how is that possibile that an application is changing the lockscreen PIN? This is a bug of enormous proportions!
I've the same issue, but i've tried all possible PIN's i'm using, but it doesn't work for me.

Overnight Update - Locked my phone - Pin not recognized

Hey,
Yesterday night probably my p30 pro got an overnight update. This morning the only option to me for unlocking the lock screen was the pin option. I tried many times my pin but i get an incorrect pin error. Anyone to suggest any solution? I don't want to wipe my data
