Hello...
Long story short, I was doing something and had my cord around my neck....it slipped off and took a dive into a sink of water......it was in the water less than 1.5 seconds, literally....the water wasn't dirty or anything....anyone had any experience with anything like this? i don't want to plug it in if it's going to mes up the charger or my phone....any advice is appreciated....it was the end of the cord that plugs into the DASH charger or PC, not the Type-C end, if that matters at all....
Just let it try for a while it should be safe to plug it into the charger again.

Stick it in a bag of rice for a day.
Thanks y'all....just plugged it in and all seems good.
If your phone breaks from using the water damaged cord you're on your own. Corrosion can short out pins in the USB-C connector, and that can lead to some unwanted results. Personally I'd take a close look at it and clean off any corrosion with isopropyl alcohol before using it, or alternatively just buy a new one since they're not very expensive

Just noticed that the default mirco USB charging cable dose not go all the way into the phone and now half way out when before it used to snap all the way in. Anyone else has a similar problem.?
That happened to me with phones before. It was caused by some pocket lint in the charging port. Hope that helps

My sockets are completely clean tho. Like half the sliver on charging end sitcks out lol T-Mobile sending me a new one and refunded me everything including shipping and the return shipping for this one. Thanks for the little info. I just ordered a qi wireless charging going to start using that instead even if it take an extra hour to charge

Well at least I'm not the only one with this problem! First 2 charges the cable fit nice and perceft \ sung as in flush with the phone and couldn't wiggle it at all now all of a sudden the dang thing won't go in all the way.
I've noticed that it's difficult to plug in my Micro USB cable that came with my N6; I feel like I might break the plug and/or the port (or both!).
If I try using my old Samsung charger's microUSB, it won't go in at all -- well, I guess it could if I really forced it, but I'm not gonna. I found that my generic Amzer retractable microUSB seems to plug in the easiest
Are you having the same issue with other brands of micro USBs?
A friends of mine micro usb cable plugs into the charging port all the way without any of the silver part of the micro usb plug showing. I got my Nexus 6 yesterday and the micro usb plugs in and charges the device, but it does not go in all the way like on my friends Nexus 6. There's about a 1/4 of the silver part of the micro usb plug showing. All in all it does what it's suppose to do which is charge the device, but I wonder if this is normal?
Anybody have more information? Mine just started having this issue and it's been rooted so I know the warranty is void.
Unroot and get an RMA.

There are tiny prongs in the micro USB end of the cable that hole the cable in. All cables I have the prongs flatten out and the cable falls out. I just buy cheap cables from Monoprice and throw them away when that happens.
Whenever I plug my phone into my computer and wiggle it around a bit it disconnects. It's a brand new cable too. I'm assuming I need to have my charging port replaced?
Never assume. Check to see if it happens with a different cable first. If it repeats with the second cable, then take the phone in for servicing.
It would not be worth to replace the charging port. It is time to get a new phone, isn't it?
It would be far less expensive to replace the port than to replace the device. Besides, without actually taking apart the N6, we don't exactly know what's going on. The connector could truly be damaged, or it could be a simple issue of the connector losing connection with the motherboard due to a bad solder joing; something that some skill with a soldering iron could resolve.

Indeed, it is that time. The only phones that meet my needs (fast wireless charging, USB 3.1, Bluetooth 5.0, microSD, etc) are the s8s so I'm going to wait for the Note 8. The Essential PH-1 is also on the radar but I really don't want to go any smaller than a 6" display.

Have you tried to remove any lint with a toothpick or similar tool? Doesn't cost anything to try a thorough cleaning before anything else...
You could also use a magnetic micro USB adapter, people say they fit very tight in the plug

I'm pretty sure the port was just dirty. I blew in it (like the old Nintendo games) and now it stays connected while wiggling the cable around rather forcefully.
Yesterday I dropped my wall adapter, I think that it wasn't damaged because it's still charging. However, I shaked it to check if any part was broken or something like that and I felt something inside, it was like sand inside, I have to put the adapter too close to me to hear it. Is it normal? Do your wall adapters sound too when shaking them?
Sorry if I'm a little paranoid
Thanks in advance.

I have this problem too. But it is with stock cable and i clean that and problem solved but for a short time.please if anybody know the Solution share that with us
well if using a better cable dosen't work then might be the port it self. also make sure that if you have a case, that it is not pushing against the cable or stopping it from going all the way through.( i hope the 1 st attempts to troubleshoot was to also change chargers.....)
the suggestion to clean port might also be valid. take the smallest needle you can find and clean/scrape the bottom of the port on each side of the connector in the phone. youd be surprised how much pocket lint get compacted if you have a habit if keeping phone in a pocket .
instead of a needle some use a wooden coffee stir stick and cuts it to a pointy dagger like edge. use it to scrape till no more dirt comes out.
Shoot I have the same problem! It isn't that frequent but it only happens on BLACK chargers in the house. I have 2 black one white charger and only the black ones have this problem. VERY weird.
Thoroughly clean out your charge port on your device and the cable ends on your cables. Unsecure contact causes slow transfer of electricity with these types of ports. Anytime I get that issue, cleaning the port and cables solves the problem until they get dirty again.
Just because you don't see stuff in there doesn't mean it's not dirty.

My problem is that I have slow charge in one side of the cable, and when I flip it and reconnect it show fast charging.
If it was dirty I should get slow charging any time.

The contact points for your cable connector and port have to all connect for you to get fast charging. That's why I said to thoroughly clean your cable contacts and port on your device.
It's just advice I gave, not a command. Your choice to do it or not. Another piece of advice, do full research on how the tech you use operates so that you can best understand its processes and functionalities.
Just saying.???
Use a Q-Tip and alcohol to clean the USB port. That should help. If it doesn't try another cable

You don't need to stick the Q-Tip into the port completely using swab the top of the connector and the port hole. That should allow the alcohol that has soaked into the port to drip down the length of the connector.

Be careful with that. Alcohol can eat away at the waterproofing adhesive that Samsung uses on their devices.
thats why i said gently clean your port with toothbrush only. no need to use any liquid cleaning or alchohal.

Ethanol Alcohol evaporates very quickly when it comes in contact with the air. 2 or 3 drops on a Q-Tip dripped onto the USB connect should clean it very quickly and evaporate before it causes any damage to the waterproofing adhesive.
The charging speed is absolutely mental, the 0 -100% in 30 minutes is legit.
But one thing to note, the cable itself shouldn't be kinked, I've had a few of these before and you can break them fairly easy if you wrap up your cables all the time, try to leave it as loose and straight as possible.
Besides that, I'm so impressed by the speed of this charger, it goes like hell.
Avoid pulling* on them except by grasping the plug housing. Where the cable meets it are the weakest link. Never bend the cable there.
That's the spot where most fail.
*including phone saved by cable drops

I have 2 stock Samsung cables that came with the bricks. One has been used well over 2000 times but it is never put away... it just sits there.
It's a stiff cable, never expected this kind of longevity from it. It's taken a few "drops" too.
A well designed/built cable/plug assembly shouldn't fail from simply coiling* it. I've fabricated many hundreds of custom cable assemblies, many still in use after over a decade.
*coiling verses sharp bends to jam it into a small space. I'm not concerned with saving shipping space but rather delivering the assembly in best condition. I also avoid using kind of tight binding of the coil that could deform the cable's internal structure. Teflon insulation is extremely susceptible to this.
Should be faster!
I charge my 9 pro (65w wall charger) from 0-100% in 27 minutes. With the phone OFF.
I recomend to everybody to buy wireless charger 50w. The model for 9 Pro. Is Very Fast and it saves usb_C port a lot.
Atention! You still need wall charger and OnePlus cable to work. When you buy the wireless charger does not come with wall charger and cable in the box.

C ports can be quit durable* if kept clean (rarely need cleaning). They typically last many years and thousands of charge cycles. You'll likely replace 2 or more batteries before a C port.
Typically the C port is easier to replace than the battery. A heavily used device's battery will last 1 to 2 years at best.
Direct charging is faster and generates less heat. High temperature and cell voltage are an Li's prime premature degraders.
*at least on a Samsung N10+

The micro's were nightmares. C ports will take some abuse without becoming loose.
The lint problem is likely a result of where it's kept. My N10+ nests in my lint free bdu pant pocket however I was keeping my Buds+ in my front pants pocket (cotten vs polyester/cotton).
Recently had to clean the lint out of the Buds+ case. It wasn't properly seating.
No big deal, carefully used a toothbrush and blew it out with a blower bulb. Now that case nests in my cargo pocket too
In spite of no cover cap the N10+'s C port has stayed remarkably clean in over 2 years of heavy usage in a dusty environment. Where you pocket the device counts the most in keeping the C port clean it appears. A dust repelling case with a slightly over hanging hood seems to help as well.

I've seen someone buy a phone, I was working in a phone repair shop and she bought the really expensive Sony phone. She was quite rough with it, shoved the micro usb cable into it the wrong way several times, broke off most the pins, literally list 1200 quid on the spot.
I think that's partly why usb c became a thing, so much more reliable, it's design I'm referring to. I know power delivery was it's driving force and data rate.

Yeah never liked the polarized micro system. A good sideways pull or drop on the attacted charging cable could loosen them.

Not all of them.
I bought for my sister Nokia 7 Plus few years back. Usb_C get broken. She use it for charging and copy to/from PC..
To replace the port they need to remove the screen (with heat & bla bla). It could Not be changed thruu the back cover. It cost almost 30 euro, which is a lot for a usb port.
You can clean the port with a sharp wooden toothpick with some contact spray or isopropyl alcohol.

C port quality depends on the manufacturer and perhaps model
A toothpick could deform contacts, a soft stiff bristle seems more appropriate... with care.
3% hydrogen peroxide can be used as it will get under the lint and react with it, dislodging it.
Dry throughly.
