I was wondering if you found any places that sell custom style shells
You can probably laser engrave one, but someone printing custom images onto them would be really cool.
Thanks
You might take a look at dbrand.com
I'm really happy with their shells

No, just regular 3M folio, that you can glue to your phone (kinda like a screen protector, just colored. There isn't a custom style mod vendor, as far as I know

You mean a skin
Diythinker.com has customized Moto Z style shells and you can get a personalized style shell and hundreds of other style shells starting at $20. The CEO of Lenovo had his custom shell created there. They might even make Motorola's own style shell because they seem to be constructed the same way and have the "moto" on the inside but I am not sure of that.
The only one that I know of, is here in Brazil. They make shells with wood. It's really nice.

Take a look at their instagram: @Grifepaubrasil
I believe they ship international.
Now that I have enough posts I can send the link to DYI Thinker which allows Custom Style Shells to be created and offers hundreds of different ones to be chosen.

Just as the subject line states: Who is interested in a *Real* Carbon Fibre Composite Case for their Samsung Galaxy Tab?
There is a company in Florida that made my HTC Supersonic (Evo 4G) Carbon Fibre Composite Case. Very very good quality stuff, not only the quality of the fabric is top notch but the fitment is perfect.
About a week ago i contacted them and asked if they would be manufacturing a case for our Galaxy Tabs and they are waiting to see how many requests they get before putting the time in on developement and testing.
How much you ask? Not exactly sure, but they manufacture a case for the iPad which is $124.95 and a majority of their smartphone cases are $99.95, so i would say pricing would be on or around $124.95 for this case.
If you guys are interested, please contact them via Facebook @ www.facebook.com/infinitycarbon or on their website @ http://www.InfinityCarbon.com.
Thanks in advance!
Today, 12/27/10, i was contacted by Infinity Carbon:
"Good news! We are currently working on cases for the Galaxy Tab and they should be available in our store in just a couple of weeks!"
*EDIT*
PROTOTYPE PIX ADDED!!!
Here are pix of the Prototype Carbon Composite Piece. Infinity Carbon has informed me that *INSTALLED* pix will be available sometime next week, which i will post as well. If you would like, you can also PRE-ORDER your Carbon Fibre Composite Case *NOW* just go to:

Any questions, post um, pm um, or you may contact Bryan @ www.InfinityCarbon.com directly or on Facebook @ www.facebook.com/infinitycarbon. My email / gtalk address is [email protected] and MSN is [email protected]
If not, everyone have an Awesome, yet safe Happy New Years!!!
i would definitely interested as long as the sides are protected as well =)
I voted yes but then got to thinking about it. Carbon Fiber is very strong but not made to hold up against scuffing and scraping. now if they put a very durable coating over the carbon then I would be interested in it.
What I'd love to see is this type of cover but one that replaces the back cover totally..and wraps around the sides protecting them too. that would make it almost nude size-wise and back pocketable. And, yes, I know that would void my warranty..but looking at my ATT Tab and its faux back carbon lookalike cover made me wish for the real thing..and gave me that idea.

Sounds like an appliqué like the PhantomSkinz Chromatics would suit your needs. Do a little XDA searching for feedback, and I posted a link in the Accessories sub-forum regarding the Tab. It's just a sticker, but it's a good sticker.
OK Guys, i just got conformation from Infinity Carbon that they are going to go ahead and start the manufacturing process for our Galaxy Tabs!!!
From Infinity Carbon:

I have had poor experience with real CF cases on wireless devices. They look great, they are extremely light and sleek, but they interfere with signal in a major way. In fact one that i purchased for an iPhone i had was a CF/Kevlar composite fabric made specifically to reduce interference, and yet it still caused very noticable interference.
If the weave was thin and loose, then perhaps it would work better in regards to signal, but then it would not be as strong or visually appealing IMO.
good job pls try to do a type of way to have teh cf wrap the sides or at least protect the sides similar to gel cases, i know that you can make flexible type of cf ( i used to work with a cf company for scion parts ) just hope it will look great and protect well =)

They use what most Carbon Fibre Composite Parts are manufactured with, 2x2 3k. I'm not sure if you mean 1x1, aka Plain Weave, which cuts the looks down to tinys sqaures instead of what you see here.

I doubt we will be offering the 1x1 plain weave as that is not very sought after these days but we can always make it as a custom order so if they want to email me we can discuss the options. [email protected]
The new Asus cases! Sorry if it was posted already.
I see it had already been posted in another thread.
Oh well, at least lazy people (like me) will be able to find the thread in a flash. loll
Man that pink one is bright!
I must say I like that blue though.
these look nice. Liking the blue and the orange...
Question is ... when do they get released? and where do we order them?

Blue looks awesome, i want it
yup! I agree. Blue looks mad awesome. That's what I plan on ordering.
For now, there's no word on them. But I'm guessing they'd be out by the end of July, sold by Asus on the website. If I find any news, I'll make sure to keep you guys posted.
What are they made of? Hard to tell in that picture. Anyone know?

Fake leather? Rubber?
Doesnt look like hard plastic
Maybe it will be made of Corinthian Leather ? lol , all joking asside would love to see them for sale soon so I can get the blue and orange one.
I'm pretty sure they're rubber. All I know is I'm getting one.
it looks very similar to the HP Touchpad's case (the easel one). If so, I'm stoked and can't wait to get one
I like the idea of some kind of leather pouch but I am tempted to get one of these for a change (my phone is in a pouch)
case details
from Asus' site:
"For users who seek additional protection, Nexus 7 has an optional protective smart cover. The smart cover is a tough, yet snug-fitting polymer case with a non-slip matte texture that protects Nexus 7 from bumps and scratches, and also provides additional grip"
Now just need to wait for them to release it in the UK.

I loved the hell out of your Evo View ROM! Glad to see you on the N7 bandwagon.
As for the case, I'm in for two...shame there's no green though.
I'd love to have one in purple...

...does anyone see anything "smart" about this cover? No auto on/off, multi-configuration stand capabilities... what? It looks like a nice cover, but why the heck does it deserve to be called a smart cover?!
I can't find this on Asus's website. Does anyone have a link?

Maybe they're using this definition of smart:
a : neat, trim <soldiers in smart uniforms>
b : stylish or elegant in dress or appearance
c (1) : appealing to sophisticated tastes (2) : characteristic of or patronized by fashionable society

It's been a while since I've seen people actually modifying their phones. If anyone's modified their phone in a cool way or if anyone uses a case or accessory that does more than just protect the device post a picture.
An idea i have for modding my s6 is im going to remove the back panel with a heat gun as if I were replacing it and instead use a slim piece of ebony wood to make the phone look a lot better while adding no extra bulk.

I'm pretty sure he means physical mods. As in changes to the hardware, not software.
For some reason his second paragraph didn't show in my xdahd app. Oh well, slick wraps are cool I use the carbon black with my obliq case looks sweet.
Tried searching and didn't see a thread. Does anyone have a Google live case, or has anyone ordered one? Basically a customized case for $35. You can also install the live case app and it will do some kind of android home screen wallpaper wrapping trick that matches the case.
Photos live case - upload a photo to make a case
Places live case - use stylized google map to make a map case
Reading reddit it seems like some people are getting nixed when they upload a photo due to copyright claims. I'm looking at the map cases, they look pretty sweet, not sure I want to drop $35 on a case I might not like, though.
EDIT - I also wish there was an option to have "Nexus" printed somewhere on the back of the case, like maybe in subtle white/black font along the bottom.

I have one. Just came in the mail 2 days ago. It actually fits pretty well, I prefer it to the Ringke Slim I was using. The print looks great. Not sure how well it will stand up to wear, only time will tell. The NFC button is pretty hard to activate, so i just gave up on that. If you have the extra cash and want a unique case I'd say its worth it.
$35 for a case its a little bit expensive, they should down the price, specially to the adopted cases.

If you are using the photo case - just add the "Nexus" (or whatever) text to your image before uploading
This review is of the Mi Smart Wake-up Flip case in Blue/Grey.
Overall it seems quite well made it contains a hard shell case inside for the phone.
The phone fits quite snug inside the shell.
The outside is made of quite hard plastic & a perspex window, on the inside it has a felt type material inlayed on the plastic.
It has the Mi Logo embossed in silver on the back which looks quite nice.
By the overall feel of it I believe this case will wear quite well probably better than the MOFI & has good protection all round for drops & knocks.
All the appropriate cutouts are big enough & clear every peripheral device needed, the speaker holes are not covered in any way & it's even slimmer than the MOFI case.
Again as with the MOFI case if you have the back flipped open & pick up the phone it covers the fingerprint reader...so it needs to be closed or semi closed to unlock :/
I'm not too sure whether I will use this case as I'm not a fan of the large window but that's a personal preference.
A Thanks goes toTo2c.com as for ordering the RN4 it was a gift.
I have this exact case! Since the XRN4 isn't really a mass circulation device (at least outside of China), I had to go with it since this was the only case the vendor had on hand. I must say, it isn't bad but the pleather coating is kind of cheap-feeling and I'm just not a huge fan of cases flip cases.
On top of that, the top, bottom and left side of the device are exposed -- so if you put this into your pocket, make sure you don't have coins or what-not because they may ding your XRN4.
Since this is a Chinese device, one of Hong Kong's popular accessory makers, Nillkin, has a few cases for it. I put in an order for a TPU case as well as a harder plastic case. This case isn't terrible -- for the price I got it at (around $7), it's a solid deal -- but I'm probably going with those Nillkin ones as alternating daily drivers since flip cases really mess with my device usage flow.
Guys I bought this case also for my Note 4 - but I cannot get it to unlock or lock when flipping open or shut. I have enabled it in the settings (Lock -> smart cover lock or unlock screen). I turned on Smart Cover and I choose a case type of "Transparent front cover".
Any ideas how I can get this to work? I am using the official Global MIUI ROM.
we shut the cover . .... I need like samsung or something like devices has that option like clock or notification and like that on smart view .. is that any app for that mates????
Keep in mind this type of case will not work with custom roms due to not having access to the kernel files for the phone.
Could you please provide link to the case?

That would be nice to know before buying it, and changing to AOSP EXTENDED custom rom.
Now I am trying to find how to make flip smart case to work!

They may work now cause custom kernals are available. But the flip case is a bit rubbish so I don't bother with it.

Oh! Thanks for the clue. I know the case is a bit rubbish, due to the fingerprint sensor in the back... but I have it, so I should use it, while I find a good tempered glass solution.
