So I got tired of the way car ui systems were laid out so I created my own. I done so using several different apps and it took several weeks to get everything work correctly by Im happy. The screen shots were from a while ago.
I got tired of all of these apps not doing everything I wanted so I mixed several apps together to create my setup.
The vehicle diagnostics pull the data from torque pro log file to populate most of the info, the top part populates using tasker.
The music info in the center is pulled using tasker.
The calendar events is pulled using zooper widget pro
When you touch the speaker icon on the bottom it launches a pop up overlay using widget launcher to show my different Spotify playlist. Each playlist had to be setup using tasker.
The navigation icon launches Waze
The Torque icon switches to a second screen to show more details, all the data is pulled using tasker from the torque pro event log.

This looks amazing!! What type of vehicle do you have?
its just a 2011 Kia Sportage so the HP and similar info are not something that I pay any attention to because its not fast. this would look great in any dash. the original setup was just a nexus 7 tablet install but im currently look at putting an Android HU in.

Hello,
I am new on this forum and in the Android developper community, and here is my first application:
aLauncher is a launcher widget for applications, contacts, bookmarks and playlists.
I came with the idea of this application when I realized, after using my phone for a while, that I was out of space on my home and that my Application Tab was a real mess. I then decided to create a Widget that would allow to sort conveniently my stuff without losing time to find and launch an application from an overcrowded list.
Also, I wanted to be able to gather in the same place applications, contacts, bookmarks and playlists that belong to the same "realm" (my often used applications and contacts for work in one place, my favorite games and music in another...).
aLauncher is a widget to address this.
It displays 4 icons in a row on the home screen, each one giving access to a fully customizable launcher (default to: Phone & office, Internet & Navigation, Games and Others).
Each Launchers comes as a screen with 3 tabs. Each tab has 16 free spots where you can freely add application shortcuts, contacts, bookmarks or playlists and move them around (so to say, a Launcher has the look'n'feel of the application tab, but behaves like the home screen).
It also supports gestures: you can tilt your phone to navigate through tabs.
Here are a few screenshots: widget on home, opened launcher and dialog for adding an application (as you can see, it supports English and French locales):

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2 versions are available on the Market:
aLauncher Free is free but the number of shortcuts is limited
aLauncher is full and comes for 1,39€ (currently $1.99)
I'm waiting for your comments and suggestions!
ps: a few early users from a previously released beta experienced crashes, this is now solved!
Hi puppetdroid
just a suggestion , on your first picture {left} it shows the music symbol listed for games. I suggest you change the Icon to a more game type icon.
Also , Have you got them Pictures but all of the text is in English??
Thanks!

Yes, I agree for embedded icons: I wanted to use only built-in icons from Android but none is good for games. Anyway, it is customizable: you can change name and icon at will
About text, default text is in English or French depending on your locale, and labels can be edited freely!
This is a quick guide to show you how you can launch Google's Car home app and navigation instead of HTC's horizontally challenged car panel. While its simple enough to setup car home is not available on the market place for the DHD.
First install Google's car home app
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17102005/com.google.android.carhome-1.apk
Open car panel from you apps or launch it from your HTC Locations Widget

Now choose Google's Car home
Enjoy
What launcher are you using? I quite like your homescreen and notification bar.
I presume DHD=Desire HD. I've got a Desire running 2.2 w/ Sense and I can't find/don't seem to have this My Locations/Car Panel app/widget.
-also, noticed you're from NZ, goodonya.
Very nice tip!!!
Now I can switch to another gps software on the panel and it can be in landscape!!!
I'm running Revolution HD by Mike1986 with Vistagamer's theme Desolution and couldn't be happier, Girlfriend wasn't so impressed with the background though
Edit: Yes DHD = Desire HD
And I found out a guy who posted the last version of CarHome, v2.2.1.4
http://www.mediafire.com/?8fkv48e9lpvx8d8
I already install it and it works fine
thanx for this !
very nice

Hello Can you update links?
Hi
Just found this out that HTC has released their Dock App in the Market which initially came with the Titan.
What it does: it's for your bedside or office desk. Basically it shows you the time, current weather conditions (with dynamic background), music, photo album and HTC Watch (for movies). It also works in portrait or landscape with a brightness control for dimming at night.

Using Dock Mode
1.
Place the device on the dock.
2.
While in Dock Mode, you can:
Tap to dim the screen.
Press and tap Settings to change the Dock Mode settings.
Tap the shortcut icons at the bottom of the screen to start a slideshow of your photos, launch Connected Media, or access your calendar.
3.
To exit Dock Mode, tap or disconnect the device from the dock.

What devices cause it to launch though? I havent seen any docks that are any thing other than a stand/usb charger?
I installed it on my HD7, but I cannot get the HTC Watch app to run. Also, I had to search for the dock mode app, as it was not in the HTC app marketplace list.
Yeah its not under HTC HUB you have to search in the marketplace.
It dosent really need a dock to operate you just download and click on it to open it.
I guess the only downside is you will loose battery if its not in a dock... which I am presuming HTC might come out with
EDIT!
I download the apk from the link below. No root needed! Works ok. App is a little blurry, guessing it was made for the smaller phone screen.
But hey, FREE MUSIC and no ads. Sweet! Love the "Dial" where we can switch music on the fly. Using it with my car's bluetooth connection.

Can someone create an apk for this app for our Galaxy Tab 7.7?

Update! Latest version works perfect. Screen now rotates and not stuck on Portrait mode.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wr7pybztrk9b28t/Milk_Music_ 1.1.180022.apk
yeah it works fine, thank you.
I saw a module related to this player in xposed, I think it helps those that can not run it. if you had any problems, maybe that will help you.
With the recent updates to Soundcloud angering me, and Pandora and other similar apps just not as appealing to me, I'm glad to see that there is a version out there for my 7.0 tab 3. I'm going to give this a shot after I finish jailbreaking my 5s (attempting a 7.1.2 update). Now the debate will continue... Samsung Tablet, Digital Camera... should I go for the phone or stick with iFruit... time will tell I guess this October.
Works with no root?
I have an HTC One and I downloaded the app and it installed but when I open the app it says device not supported. Am I missing something or was the "no-root" misadvertised. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have used Beautiful Widgets for my home screen widget for quite some time but now the clock does give the correct time and its geolocation does not update. Looking at the app store there are multiple reports of similar problems and the dev does not seem to be updating the app now. Screenshot attached.
Are there any similar easy to use widgets to give a similar HTC sense clock appearance and weather? In particular I need added functionality such as being able to customise multiple areas to click and open certain apps. I've looked on the app store and the closest I found was the 3D flip clock but like some others I tried the widget does not fill the whole area and leaves a space on the sides and below on my Note 9 screen which looks awkward.
Cheers for any suggestions.
You can give HD Widgets a try. It is customizable and you can probably get close to what you need. It has time and weather (temp current weather and forecast)
It has clickable areas for the clock, weather forecast
You can also set up specific apps for each clickable location.

HD widgets on mine
I agree. I use HD Widgets for clock/weather & then stock Samsung calendar/appointment widget. Hope this leads you to finding something that works for you.

Beautiful Widgets
I use BW as well and this was happening to me until I went in to Settings>General >Weather data provider and switched it to AccuWeather instead of using Weather Underground. Weather Underground doesn't work for me at all, but AccuWeather works just fine. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the replies! I managed to get beautiful widgets working by going to "Optomise battery usage" in phone settings and switch this OFF for the widget, now all working again! If it stops then HD widget looks similar and slick!
