Gesture app without root - T-Mobile LG G6 Questions & Answers

I prefer to use my phone with a hiding navbar of none at all. I used to root my previous phones to achieve this but this phone doesn't have that. Is it possible even if it takes paid apps?

Run App(s) from Pin Locked Lockscreen

I want the ability to run specific apps from a pin or pattern locked lockscreen.
I am rooted and running KitKat. I am aware of the "Quick Access (from Lockscreen)" module but from what I understand...it only runs whatever app was currently running over top of the lockscreen. It does NOT give you the ability to run (for example) 2 specific apps and switch between them. I also tried a different approach and used an app locker but the apps I tried locked individual apps so you had to unlock every app which is a huge pain.
Whatever the solution is...I do want to use a pin or pattern lock. Any suggestions out there?

Can you have an expanded desktop with unrooted Marshmallow?

Hello,
I was just wondering if there is a way to have an expanded desktop and pie controls in unrooted Marshmallow. Currently I am on rooted Lollipop and have those features through Xposed Gravitybox. I'm thinking at this point, with the advancements in Marshmallow, the expanded desktop and pie controls might be the only reasons to still root, for me. (Also, feel free to give me other reasons to still root on Marshmallow!)
Thanks!
I'm running a locked and unrooted Nexus 6. I downloaded this app to get the full-screen experience:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.immersive&hl=en
GMD Full Screen Immersive Mode is your best bet if you're going to go unrooted. By default, you can force Immersive Mode (no status bar & no Navbar OR just no Navbar) on any app. If you pay a small fee (I don't remember the price, but it's nominal and it's worth it), you unlock the ability to enable Immersive Mode on an app-by-app basis. This is where the app shines. I set up all my browsing apps to go Immersive automatically.
There is one big annoyance, though... While in Immersive mode, the keyboard loses some functionality. Letters work as expected, but you won't be able to long press letters to get numbers, and your "symbols" keyboard will be rendered useless. Easy fix for that is to just swipe to get your bars back, but it's a bit of an inconvenience at times, especially if you're using a phone like the Nexus 6.
Personally, I don't think this is a big enough knock against the app to forego it. For apps where you know you're going to be doing a lot of typing, set them to "normal" mode. Also, for apps that have Immersive settings of their own (i.e. most games & video streaming apps), I'd set them to normal as well.
Ever since I discovered this app, I can't go without having it installed, and I don't feel the need to root anymore. Like you, getting the expanded desktop was my primary reason to root. Give the app a try!

Pixel NavBar with root

I've been searching for an hour now but I can't seem to find a way to change the NavBar icons to (for example) the Pixel ones without the home-button changing back while it't being pressed, breaking the illusion.
Every method advertises as being prossible without root, but as I am already rooted I am totally fine with using a root-method as long as it doesn't switch back like the rootless methods do.
Does anyone know a way of doing this?
Have you tried the Substratum method?

Force app to full screen

Greetings,
does anyone have an idea how to set/force an app to go full screen?
Thanks
I don't have the phone yet and was gonna ask a similar question. I didn't know if Razer had implemented any software tweaks to hide the nav bar, I guess they don't? Having a 5.7in screen and no way to hide the nav bar kinda sucks.

Hey try this app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.immersive, I used this on the essential phone and it worked pretty well. There's also other ones on the store.
Yes there is a way to hide the Nav bar via Fluid N.G.
It's in the app store
No need for root, but with root the process is easier.
With root all you do is accept the permission to hide nav bar on all apps.
Without root you will need ADB on your PC and you have to run some simple commands that are in the app.
If you need more help let me know.
Here's some sample screenshots of the GMD Immersive App you can download at the play store. I have the paid pro version of it. When I first installed it, it didn't operate correctly, after a reboot it has been working fine now. You can find the app here: (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.immersive)
Anyways this let's you either hide the nav bar by itself or hide the nav bar/notification bar so u can have a completely full screen when surfing the web or in your favorite apps. It's takes some getting use to but works fairly well. My phone is completely stock, no root required.

Android 10 Gesture Navigation on ROG Phone 2

Currently, Android 10 Gesture Navigation is incompatible with 3rd party launchers. I read that it checks to see if the launcher is your default system launcher before allowing Gesture Navigation. Would the following process be an effective workaround and make Gesture Navigation compatible with a launcher of my choosing?
- Root phone
- Install 3rd party launcher
- Set 3rd party launcher as system app and change permissions accordingly
- Remove stock launcher and it's backup APKs
- Restart device
I have some experience with rooting, but not much, and I've bricked phones before. I've also had highly successful attempts at rooting and tweaking the system. This is an expensive phone, so I would like to get a second opinion before I attempt this.

Use Navigation Gesture(XDA) to disable default Nav bar. Then install Fluid Navigation Gesture app. It's has similar navigation to Android Pie and moreover you can add custom toggles. No root required. Just ADB, for both the apps to work. I am on Android 10 with Nova Launcher and they both work great! Both apps are available on play store. Hope this helps.
I have mine fully working from day 1 with Quickswitch + Lawnchair (prealpha releases, TG channel). Amazing experience
Does it work even after reboot ?

Navigation Gesture works(hiding the nav bar). Fluid navigation gesture doesn't. So you need to give the ADB commands again
Edit: Good news! You don't have to give ADB permissions in either. Just cross checked. For Fluid Nav Gesture you just have to disable and enable accessibility services!

Tried that...Fluid gestures is loosing accessibility service permission even if app is cleaned from recents...same thing happens when we restart phone... irritating...

After restarting the phone, yes I agree. You can solve it by disabling and enabling accessibility services. Cleaning it from recent apps shouldn't. It is not happening for me. Did you give adb writing permission?
Do you have "detect battery draining app" and stop if running in background on?
The CN rom has no navigation bar option
