I can't find the sugar qct sp, could you give me the link ?
hi, i've found this program in one thread of this forum @
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-vodafone-prime-tab-7-t3548560
download the file (vf1400- recovery -boot -tool): this is a zip file.
in this file you found the flasher sugar qct sp gotu2. this is the only program which we can use for the idol 4 and more alcatel devices. install it.
Check if your are using qualcomm drivers.
To be sure: install them and in windows device manager, when the phone is off and connected, go to port com section, reinstall manually qualcomm drivers, that because windows 7 install via Mobile Upgrade Q other drivers.
Then choose in drivers list: Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (com xx) for all com port installed, maybe windows send an advice that it s not the correct driver, force it, restart your computer just after.
it works perfectly on my intel based laptop : i3 8go ddr3 windows 7 64 sp1, connected to usb 3.
my phone is in 6.0.1 010.5 w/lbl ... no, my phone was in 6.0.1 010.5
the time to proceed directly depend of your internet connection speed and your lan connection quality (wtf?!?), in lesser degree your computer power. my computer achive full restore approx in 45min ( internet sharing , 4g lte by an old but efficient - after root- sony xperia sp )
if you could, choose an eternet connection or a very good wifi network ( @ my home 802.11n firmware download its at 20kbps in middle condition -far to the hotspot- , up to 3mbps in good condition) My appreciation is amateur but reality
i read in some case it fail. if you are in this situation try: launch win in safe mode with network support , connect to usb 2 port, launch in admin.
quote: i've done the official update via ota in january 2017 plus the official minor update two day later, then i was in 6.0.1 010 05 os, with no big changes except launcher.
since ive done the "update FOTA" via qct (no update, in fact if your are already in -6.0.1 010.05- it overwrite your existing system to correcting partition, files, etc) with the same os version ive seen more change than ota update (setting menu, launcher setting etc etc)
---------- Post added at 12:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:48 AM ----------
i want to know if some people have the same problem with Mobile Upgrade Q:
i've downloaded more version on the official alcatel support site 5.0.0 5.0.6 5.6.1 etc, all versions display when i launch it: mobile upgrade q 4.1.0, on 3 computers the problem is the same.
i remember, i think the 5.0.0 version is correct display when i launch it and this is the only wich can work correctly (detect and try to download) but after device detection, Mobile Update Q display that my phone is on last os version then it dont need update, the process aborded . all other versions (5.0.6 +) detect my phone but don`t connect to the sever to check and download update,it only show error message about my internet connexion (???)
sugar qct, in my case is the only way to resolve my problem.
i hope it can help more users, because ive seen that we are several in this case.

Really really be sure that you are using the correct qualcomm driver. Check the version, only one works for me, then rstart your computer. It works over trwp or other recovery, it totally flash your phone storage.
Believe me, im not an expert but just advised user, if you do and check my method line by line, im sure it works. Maybe at the first restart your phone fall in bootloop, reset it and its ok.
Remember in qct, firehose etc or more adb r/w software, you choose your phone by one com port not always by phone name. If you cant choose any com port or if your phone is not correctly dected, for sure it s your adb driver the issue.

Here we go ( Read all instruction and comment before start flashing ) :
1 ) Download these 3 apps: http://www.4shared.com/rar/Re4VCOAS/kdz- udpate.htm (the original link is deleted, re-uploaded by RuedasLocas)
To get KDZ file you can find it here : http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=15
2 ) Once downloads complete Extract the file (ex.: C:\KDZ\) and u will get folder like this :-
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
3) Install B2CTools LG ( B2CAppSetup.exe ) this file is located on the folder that yr extract before .
4) Run LGMobile update (must be on your desktop) and install the usb drivers .
5 ) Turn off yr device and remove the battery .
6 ) Now just hold down vol - key ( hold hold hold dont release !!!! ) and plug the USB cable until you get screen like this :-
7 ) Wait for while due to yr computer will install some driver . Once the install is complete find "Device Manager" > Modems > disable the LGE Mobile USB Modem on yr computer ( me using win 7 -----> start ---> computer ---> right click / and you can find device manager )
8) Run as administrator KDZ_FW_UPD.exe ( file located at step no 2 )
9) - Run as administrator Windows Enabler.exe ( file located at step no 2 ) . After run the app, an icon will appear on your tray, single-click on the icon util the "ON" text appears over the icon like this :-
10 ) Go back to KDZ, locate press on the yellow folder and locate the .kdz file that you want to flash
11) Click on "Launch Software Update"
12 ) Please see below picture !! Very important !!!! Now standby to put yr battery back !!!!!!
When the log start to run, put the battery back on. ( thanks to RuedasLocas ) im copy from u
13 ) - WAIT until your phone reboots automatically and unplug the cable , ( ALL IS DONE ) please check yr firmware on yr phone ....
- Dont care about the errorlog, it's normal
If you got only bootloop after flash .kdz, just do a hard reset:
- press and hold [vol -] and [power] until you got the "android recovery figure" and wait until they reboot again.
INFO !
When you tried to update yr LG Optimus 4x HD , the error comes " Your Device Is Not Registered Yet "
That because you're using different version than the original country and you wont receive OTA update .
The only way to get it back is by using LG software or KDZ method and install yr country's firmware.
I hope this will help for those want to update firmware via KDS
And thanks to RuedasLocas because always help if we in trouble .. Thanks bro ..............
Before start flashing please do backup first ( yr photos , Videos , music on yr SD card )
For clean install wipe yr data / factory reset !!!
Did you really need to make another thread but with pics? Honestly, I think reading is enough.

+1. Exactly this.
I think no need to remove battery
Still work even skip step 5
I updated my firmware , just by downloading the update software and following the instructions on the screen. Didn't disable modem and didn't remove battery. As far as I can see everything works fine. Battery is a bit crazy sometimes. One night I left it 100% before I went to sleep and found it at 100% in the morning and the other night I lost around 4% which is still ok.
I do get tiny lags in some games sometimes, not sure if I'm imagining it or not, but it didn't happen before, now I'm not sure if it's bcs I didn't remove the battery or disabled modem as you described.
Also is it possible for me to reflash from v10h to v10h but now disabling modem and removing battery?

and will I get anything by doing that. Since I don't seem to be having any issues right now as far as I understand android
Also why go through all that procedure of removing the battery and disabling the modem when the simple version plug and follow instructions works as well? At least it did for me.

Well in order to be helpful here's what I did:
1. Installed LGMobile Support Tool (I'm sure you can google it )
2. Run the program and click on Install USB Driver.
3. After the driver finished downloading and installing, close the LGMobile Support Tool and plug in your phone via USB cable.
4. Now run LGMobile Support Tool again and it will start checking your device. At this time I also changed my Country by going to Options & Help ----> Country and Language.
5. After that I clicked on START UPDATING and followed the instructions.
I'd describe instructions in detail, but since my phone is already updated, the START UPDATING button is greyed out.
After the process has finished phone reboots into a new firmware which you can confirm in settings and the Tool itself confirms it.
Hope this helps!

@InterrtuptoR For RIL you can change firmware to either v20b or v20a and also try changing sim card and please check. For bad network some time sim card that too old might create a problem, anyway give a shot and please do report so that we can see what else we can do for you. For now I am sleeping its already late. will get back to you after next 12-14hr
Thanks

First of all thanks for all your research and help!
Sadly the LG Mobile Support Tool always stops saying "Upgrade stopped due to an error".
Anything I can do?
Edit: And thinking that it might have to do with Windows version (running Windows 10 x64), I tried using a virtual machine emulating Win 7 x64, but here it says "Cannot connect to server"...
(usual at your own risks...)

Remember that .kdz is LG' file_support for upgrade/init firmware; the good is that the Win dll/flash is included in the .kdz (better option than tricky .dz flash): check whole thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-4x-hd/general/lg-p880-firmware-flash-upgrade-t2919195
- use CSE flash with custom rom
(- OR restore a JB nandroid and then use NORMAL flash for an upgrade on JB)
If trouble :
-FIRST (lucky ?) : try another usb cable
-HARD : format via cwm and proceed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723
I'm pretty sure @dimi89 just went threw this; he is an early p880' user and will help for steps or different way (?)
Once done, you need to flash cwm and a custom rom to check that AboutPhone/baseband is showing exact kdz :"LGP880AT-00-V20c-EUR-XXX-OCT-07-2014" and not the version firmware 02.1233, ie a different kdz origin.
(Under resulting LG JB, the AboutPhone/os firmware indication is always the rom in use, not the original kdz, so it always looks good even if not...like old 2013 V20C or remix... )

Okay, I tried it on a PC that natively runs Windows 7 and of course again the Windows version caused the mess... On that 7 machine everything went smoothly (although the "Cannot connect to server" error persisted, I was able to ignore it, as the program proceeded in the background).
Really to all of you having issues with upgrading LG software and running Windows 8 or higher:
Do not waste hours and simply try on a Windows 7 machine!
I remember having had troubles likes that before on win 8.1 , where the only solution in the end had been the same... it can drive you mad, so just please skip that!
Now I'm on cm11 nightly and "about phone" still shows L6260_MODEM_SIC_02.1233.00 under Baseband-Verison ...

Hi,
I always found it saddening to notice EZCast5G (the "original") is updated at first and their knock offs are updated way later (as of writing this, there is 16602000 for EZCast5G, 16403000 for MiraScreen5G).
The update tool let's you easily analyze the update process. And if you fake the reply from this URL with (for example) miniweb to always dish out latest EZCast5G firmware then your knock off will become an original.
These are the requests made for a legit EZCast5G and a MiraScreen5G:
Code:
[COLOR="Purple"]curl http://www.iezvu.com/upgrade/ota_rx.php -d "{\"version\":1,\"vendor\":\"ezcast5g\",\"mac_address\":\"authorshxj\",\"softap_ssid\":\"000000-00000000\",\"firmware_version\":\"16602000\"}"[/COLOR]
[COLOR="Blue"]curl http://www.iezvu.com/upgrade/ota_rx.php -d "{\"version\":1,\"vendor\":\"am8252_nand_mirascreen\",\"mac_address\":\"authorshxj\",\"softap_ssid\":\"000000-00000000\",\"firmware_version\":\"16403000\"}"[/COLOR]
These are the official replys where you need to always dish out the first one and the update tool will do the rest:
Code:
[COLOR="Purple"]{"ota_conf_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.conf","ota_fw_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.gz","ota_enforce":true}[/COLOR]
[COLOR="Blue"]{"ota_conf_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/am8252_nand_mirascreen/am8252_nand_mirascreen-16403000.conf","ota_fw_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/am8252_nand_mirascreen/am8252_nand_mirascreen-16403000.gz","ota_enforce":true}[/COLOR]
When I opened mine it even read "5G EZCAST V1.4" on it - so I was pretty sure it should work. And it did. So for $17 one year ago I got myself a neat working EZCast5G. The MiraScreen5G gets into bootloader mode by pressing the one and only button right when you plug it into USB - no need to shorten pin 19 and 20 of the AM8252.
Thank you.
Some questions.
How to use this curl command with miniWeb?
Hi,
BUMP
No honestly, could you elaborate how this works ? Have 2 MiraScreen5G dongles...

Hi,
with some help from Chatty and another forum i got it done !
First i needed to add a line to my hosts file:
(On windows its found in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc)
Code:
127.0.0.1 www.iezvu.com
Then i downloaded miniweb and created a file containing the desired server answer.
Miniwebs web root resides in the "htdocs" folder by default, so i created a folder named "upgrade" and in that folder a file named "ota_rx.php.
I edited that file to contain this text:
Code:
{"ota_conf_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.conf","ota_fw_file":"http://cdn.iezvu.com/upgrade/ezcast5g/ezcast5g-16602000.gz","ota_enforce":true}
I fired up miniweb with the parameter "-p 80" to listen on the stabdard web port.
THEN i started the EZ Updater app, connected my dongle in Flash mode and VOILA it detected the version i wanted it to detect.
So it flashed (took forever with several loops) my MiraScreen5G to a EZCast5G !!!!
After that initial update the dongle detected a newer version and updated okay.
Please note that AFTER the update you cannot get into flash mode by simply pressing the key. I assume that key is not considered existing anymore since the EZCast5G has none as well
So for further flash-fun we need to short the Pin like its descived by Chatty !
THANKS Chatty & all,
Ender

Hey Guys,
If someone knows, please share the knowledge.
Few Months ago when I was updating the firmware, my Dongle died due to power cut.
after reconnecting my PC couldn't read the version of my dongle. Today I wanted to revive my Dongle But have no to little experience on the Windows Debugging. I know my Dongle is not dead and it has no firmware, I also know that EZCast Repair tool can Flash the Firmware to it, I can download the firmware using the OP, I can also see that The App has options for Manually flashing the Firmware.
But I don't know how and what to do to access the areas shown in the Screenshot.
anyone please help me and point me to right direction.
Thanks in Advance.

No I found no help.
All I need is access the flashing area.
I had 2 tools laying around (think i deleted those)
One was older and directly opened the firmware flashing page, but that doesn't have the partition table of My Dongle.
And the other tool which have the partition table, opens on main page (which is automated and does nothing)
If somehow i could access the firmware flashing area on the newer tool then I could revive my dongle.
If your dongle contained older chip of Action Electronics (earlier than 52) then the older tool can flash your dongle.

Yes, of course, if the firmware is faulty, the device is not recognized and does not work. You must follow the Firmware Recovery Procedure. The device will most likely be repaired. Unfortunately, unless you specify a specific type, you can't be specifically advised on how to proceed.

If your device has a button, first try to enter recovery mode, press the button and connect USB.
In the procedure is a photo of the MCU and these pins are shown.

If you're stuggling to find the ADB drivers for your phone, I'm not sure that you should be trying to root your phone, no offence.
Rooting it will break the camera completely. There is a DRM fix, which does leave all the functions of the camera working. But I wouldn't go down that route personally. The 'fix' was actually stolen from another developer and released without permission. The Dev who's running the drm fix thread didn't build the fix and has no idea how it works. Read for yourself, support is very patchy, it's a difficult thing to get right. You need to apply the right patches in the right sequence on top of a 8.49 CE firmware build, or it wont work.
It's a fix not a workaround, you destroy your TA keys buy unlocking your phone and you will never get them back.
Also you're dependent on the Dev (sToRm//) compiling a new fix to go with any new firmware released.
You could never update again without his help, and right now, he's got the hump.

It's a fix not a workaround, you destroy your TA keys buy unlocking your phone and you will never get them back.
Also you're dependent on the Dev (sToRm//) compiling a new fix to go with any new firmware released.
You could never update again without his help, and right now, he's got the hump.

Thanks you for you help, i think you are right but it's very difficult to tell me i don't "root" my phone because every smartphone i have in my life was root. I buy a Sony phone for the first time and maybe the last because it's what i like with Android, Root, change ROM, again and again. Maybe Modpunk release a stable LineageOS ?
I buy this phone because it is small, very small, snap 835, sd card, speakers on the front and fingerprint on the right but i hope Oneplus make a little phone like this a day
I feel like I'm in prison

I know, every phone I've ever owned I rooted, it's almost a habit, but with this bootloader Sony is giving us the finger. The main reasons I wanted to root were usually to get a better battery and to mod the framework to make it look better, but the battery with this phone is already good, it doesn't need any help.
If you want to mod the looks then it's possible to do that too.
I don't want to be negative and put you off trying to do amazing things with your phone, but I thought you should know the details before you start.
Edit: yes, I think LineageOS is very close now, perhaps when that is working I might move to that.

I ran into a similar issue when trying to use Emma. It only runs on Windows, so I had to go through this as well.
First, download and install Android Studio for your OS:
developer . android .com/studio/ index. html
(Note: Android Studio is not required, just the SDK. But Android Studio will install the SDK for you in a standard location. This might make things easier for you.)
Once this is done, launch it to install the SDK. You can select all defaults.
Once the SDK is installed, click Configure in the bottom-right of Android Studio and select SDK Manager. On the first screen, select the SDK Tools tab in the middle. Here you will want to select Google USB Driver and click Apply. This should install the driver.
Then, go back to the device in the device manager and right-click the device and select Update Driver.
After that, I followed the steps here:
stackoverflow . com /questions/14559734/ install-adb-interface-driver-for-android
to get the driver installed. This was because I kept getting an error that the system could not find the Android ADB Interface.
For the record, the Google USB Driver was installed on a Windows 10 box in the following location:
%localappdata%\Android\Sdk\extras\google\usb_driver
Hope this helps you out..

Unfortunately, these drivers do not contain the correct drivers. I do not have any idea, I've been desperate.

What do you mean by "these drivers do not contain the correct drivers"? Did they fail to install for you?
I just spun up a new Windows 7 VM to test this out again, and it worked for me.
What steps are you taking exactly?
Did you receive any errors when you tried to install the driver this way?
How is your device appearing in the device manager?

The device in fastboot will appear in the device manager as Android as the first stick.
Drivers dowload from Sony developed or Android SDK reports not found driver.
Drivers from Sony or Google they work in USB debugging but not driver in fastboot, still reports Android without drivers.
Testing on Windows 10 x64 and Windows 7 x32
Thank you in advance for any ideas
Hi, is there a solution to this? I am also looking for the fastboot driver. I have no issue with ADB driver... its just fastboot. My Z5 with fastboot is ok.... but Z1C not. Im running windows 10

Sometimes the drivers don't install properly in Windows 10, although it doesn't tell you they failed to install (helpful). You need to start Windows in safe mode and look for 'Disable driver signing'
Also, if you've used your computer for another device, then it's likely those drivers are still in it kicking about and probably getting in the way. You might have better luck going to another computer that has never been used for ADB and starting fresh.
Hi everyone,
Dunno if this is the right thread to post my question but the subject is Fastboot so I am trying my luck. Want to unlock the bootloader of my phone via Sony website... step 1 and 2 are no problem and I have my unlock code. Unfortunately I can't get my phone into FASTBOOT mode. Connected cable to laptop, hold volume button up and connected phone to cable but nothing happens. Is there anyone that can help me out?
thnx!

Did you use the standalone SDK, or did you use Android Studio?
If you used Android Studio, what do you see in: %localappdata%\Android\Sdk\extras\google\usb_driver\
If you did not use Android Studio, would you be willing to try it? I only suggest it since it installs everything to specific locations, so perhaps removing an additional variable could be useful.
Otherwise, Didgesteve's suggestion seems like a good next step.
I have the exact same problem. Sony driver and Google driver both don't work. Driver sign in Windows 10 is disabled. How can I don now?
Edit: After followed the steps showed in this video the drivers are successfully installed but when unlocking the bootloader it says "command not allowed". Do I have to unlock it if I want to root my phone?

Yes, unlocking your phone is the first part of rooting your phone. Unlocking is a one way process, you can't ever undo it and it will break your camera, completely. Be aware of that before you continue, the threads are full of people crying about broken phones that can't be re-locked.
It might be your phone is not allowed to be unlocked. Some phone providers in the UK sell phones that cannot be unlocked, mostly because they don't want the headache of people claiming unlocked phones be repaired.
Type *#*#7378423#*#* into your phone dialer to access the service menu.
Then look under Service info/configuration.
Under Rooting Status it should say Bootlock unlock allowed - yes.
If it says no then forget it.
Edit: you also need to allow OEM unlocking in the developer options

Yes, I forgot to allow OEM unlock in my phone settings.
I gave up unlocking my phone anyway, compare to years ago, stock rom nowadays isn't that unacceptable after all.
Hi - after months I finally solved the fast boot issue by using the above mentioned video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=105&v=nQjg6ePnGAc
Basically - the key is that there are 2 steps:
1. Connect phone in usb debugging mode - then install sony adb driver using device manager and "have disk"
2. Boot into fastboot - and again install sony adb driver using device manager and "have disk"
Result = fastboot now working!
today I root my XZ1C
I have lots of problems with fastboot and i have other solution
for ADB i use driver from Sony ( installed by device manager )
but for fastboot
I use "Android ADB Interface" installed with Android Studio (you can choose it device manager --> update driver --> manual install --> installed on pc --> google or on my PC it was Samsung and there was google --> Android ADB Interface )
thats was only think that work for my device
I lost today 3/4h for this one think
maybe it will help someone to safe this time
Enjoy !
I already sent a private message to a Recognized Contributor on XDA.I think that If post here I could help also other members.
I have problem with my new huawei p30 pro.It was stuck on android 9 and emui 9 ,I tried every official modes to force the update.But I couldn't achieve that.
So I tried with hisuite proxy .I finded my Device model(VOG-L29) region: C431-HW-EEA , then clicked on add rom on firm Finder v2 .The version was the lastest 102.0.0.134
The procedure was smooth and I choosed the right ROM (100% sure!I already have that webpage open)Once finished the smartphone installed the EMUI 12 but once restarted the massage: Your device has loaded a different operating system! scared me .
Do I broke the phone? Is there a way to fix it without changing the motherboard?
Thanks a lot every help will be appreciated so much
Little Update.
I tried several methods trying solving this big issue.
1.Update from Erecovery trying to download and recover the package via WIFI
RESULT:the phone updated from 12.0.0.134 to 12.0.0.149 but once rebooted the
same result with black screen and the massage: Your device has loaded a different operating system
2.I done the same procedure of this guy
I also saved the log file of hisuite and here are the version before I made that mess:
* FirmWare_Base:VOG-LGRP2-OVS 9.1.0.240
* FirmWare_Cust:VOG-L29-CUST 9.1.0.4(C431)
* FirmWare_Preload:VOG-L29-PRELOAD 9.1.0.2(C431R2)
So The ROM I selected on huawei firm finder v2 was good(VOG-l29 102.0.0.134)
I succeeded to Recover and install the previous ROM,the 9.1.240,with hisuite and hisuite proxy
but once finished an error on the p30pro appear: Software install failed.
tried also the 10.0.0.195
I'm thinking about dload with otg or nm card but I don't know the procedure.
Could you guys help me?
Thanks
As the title changed I solved the problem of soft brick.
I write here the tutorial to help those who might have the same problem.
Requirement :OTG cable ,exFat formatted pen drive and the right Firmware to flash.
Create a dload called folder inside the pen drive and put in it the 3 Firmware's .zip file(base,cust and preload)
I specify that my p30 was bricked on version 12, so my first attempt was to load the version
VOG-L29 hw eea VOGUE-L29C 9.1.0.115(C431E4R2P2).
To flash the firmaware from usb pen take the phone off and hold the volume up button for several seconds while we connect to charge the phone .Connect the usb pen and from erecovery choose OTG update mode.
The result was an unbricked p30 pro but no fast charge and usb data tranfer and I can't get any type of update from OTA.
So I downloaded this version:
https://huaweidownload.com/download/p30-pro/vog-l29-2/10-1-0-123/
I flashed my P30 Pro once again, and of course no USB connection and fast charging. But system afetr few minutes started finding upgrades via OTA. Passed from 10.1.0.179 to 10.1.0.201. Of course I let it upgrade.
It was 11.0.0.138 first, then 11.0.0.174(last EMUI version before version 12 ) came and USB connection was restored.
you can also find other firmware here:
https://androidhost.ru/search.html
https://www.hardreset.info/it/devices/huawei/huawei-p30-pro/faq/firmware/huawei-firmware/
Even if I am a programmer I am new in the world of android bricks and I spent 2 afternoons and many attempts to solve the problem.
The last problem concerns the creation of a backup point. I have tried different version of HiSuite and both windows 10 and 8.1.But I couldn't get data from phone
The solution is to install the Androis ADB inteface Drivers while the phone is connected to the PC. I believe that this way data information is injected to the phone as well as installed on the PC.
take the drivers from here: https://oemdrivers.com/usb-adb-interface
or here: https://www.drivermarket.net/adb-fastboot-drivers-v1-4-3-download-for-windows-latest/
once you carry out this procedure you fixed everything
