Mobile data dying and then does not restart on 4.1.3 - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hi, i have a weird problem with all 4.1.3 or beta 5.
After excessive data usage, like using torrent, the mobile data connection on my phone dies completely. Needs a reboot to restart.
I'm pretty sure Resurrection Remix latest version had the same, but only after i installed latest firmware.
Now im on 4.1.3 and the problem still exists.
Is there a baseband collection anywhere, or can i even try any older radio for this OS version i am on right now?

There might be something to this since it usually appears after 2gb of data transfer (default cap i think). Switched to aosp at the moment and have to see whether i will encounter this problem again, since theres no option for this in aosp.

What is firmware 3? ... Have you tried doing a full wipe and clean install to see if the problem persists? You could also try flashing a different ROM and see if the problem's still there.
Make a Nandroid first and you can test it out and revert back to your current setup.

He's talking about the Gpe 4.3 hboot. So basically the latest firmware.
@OP
If you have s-off you could try downgrading your firmware and see if anything changes.

Looks like dirt on the sensor (not on the lens), so it's hardware. You'll not notice it every time, it depends on several settings such as aperture.

I do use it a lot, it just seems unusually high. It's normally below screen, but not in the past week.
Having the same issue as you. On Nexus 5 though. Android 5.1.1.
Some websites are saying people are facing this issue when they're off wifi and using mobile data. I am always on wifi though. Uninstalling all Chrome updates fixed this issue for me, although now I am on a much older version. Let me know if you found a better fix.

Factory reset did the trick, but don't know how long that will last.

Here's what I did yesterday and Chrome has been really good for the last 24 hours which has been the longest streak so far.
Uninstalled all updates, cleared all data, installed the update, then opened it and logged in.

What happened to my battery chart here?

Phone wasn't plugged in while I was sleeping. Chroma 7/19 with included kernel. T-Mobile + Wi-Fi Calling preferred.
I can't say I've ever seen this happen. Any ideas?

It looks like a glitch in the matrix. If you reboot does it go back to normal?

Any new apps or app updates? Something is using the heck out of your phone when you're not. I'd install a wakelock detector,,,, here's one that shows compatible with Lollipop.
Oops I forgot the link, my bad

That normally happens to me when I I have the phone powered on, but not in the OS. Like in the recovery or whatever.

That would make sense. It was just in the OS, screen off, etc. Just sitting there.

The solution of the problem which is seek is that after updating my perfect note 5 to latest firmware AOJ5 , i cannot save the selection of mobile data to SIM 2 , instead of SIM 1 (under sim card manager)whenever i restart my phone. Because of this stupid Bug, i dont know whether to reinstall firmware or not. So any solution to this?

Mystery Data Usage

My data usage shows the majority of my data coming from "Android OS." Is it normal? Can I limit it?

My wife, son, daughter, and I all have Nexus 6. Daughter's is stock 7.1, wife and son is CyanogenMod 13 (6.0.1), and mine is LineageOS 14.1 (7.1.1). This happened to my wife and son a few days ago, but not to my daughter or me.
Googling reveals that plenty have experienced this in the past couple of years. So not a new or particularly rare thing. The suggested solutions often involved installing firewall software. Another was to turn off sending 'Usage and diagnostics' (Settings / Google).
In Android 7.1.1 (not sure if 7 or 7.1) you can 'Disable all cellular data access' for things. Sadly, that doesn't help the affected devices in my house.

I'm pretty sure this started when I switched to Cricket. I don't remember anything using data like this does when I was on MetroPCS (T-Mobile).

I'm certain that it isn't carrier related (I'm guessing that "Cricket" and "MetroPCS" are carriers?).

I'm going to strip it all down and reinstall the ROM.
