Hello, I am facing this issue with all my phones, previously it was with Moto X Play now its visible with OP3T.
If I am using the location service and wifi scanning, after I turn it off when on Data (3G or 4G) my wifi stays on all time. And drains my battery. Wifi scanning or wifi is turned off when the device is sleeping. In fact the wifi is not even in use. Is there any way to fix this ? I can share the battery stat.. please help me out.. this is a new device and there must be a way to fix this bug.

Go to wifi, then click the settings gear and uncheck wifi scanning always available.

Its already done. Thats why I am scratching my head.
After restarting the phone, it gets fixed. So everytime after turning location service I need to reboot ?

Do I keep this on ?turn it off ?How am I saving battery when the phone switches to data when it goes to sleep ? Is it going to save me battery if i have wifi turned off on the phone because Im not at home and it sits in my pocket ? I know it sounds stupid but hear me out . I read on the internet couple of times that its the best way to save battery because having wifi sleep option set on "always " keeps the phone going into deep sleep . Now , wont the phone use data then while its asleep ? LTE data consume more battery than wifi? After reading this on several sites it started to confuse me . Sorry dumb question!

LTE does consume more than WIFI. I'm sure having WIFI disabled when sleeping conserves battery but I don't know by how much. I'm guessing there are a few variables that vary from user to user. My suggestion would be to testing the feature both on and off and compare your battery stats.

WiFi and Data off is the way to go. Could turn Sync off as well. Profiles maybe?

So I got brand new Nexus 6 from Verizon a week ago and before installing any apps i used NRT 2.04 to unlock the bootloader and root the phone. Everything works fine except annoying issue with WiFi. What happens is that if you leave phone untouched for a long time you will discover that WiFi indicator as well signal strength indicator have ! on it and if you look on WiFi status it still says connected but in reality it's not so any help is appreciated.
Another question where the hell toggle to switch between Vibrate, Silent and Ring mode disappeared?
What are your advanced settings?

I am wondering if anyone have the same problem as me and have found a solution. My note 9 (snapdragon) keeps displaying login page and asking for username and password every time I try to connect to xfinity hotspot. I have used iphone and essential phone and they only asked for the 1st time and would remember afterward and connect automatically.
Everyone experience the same and found a solution ?
Thank you

Connects automatically for me, although I have it turned off because it usually sucks

Do you get asked the screen below everytime it reconnects ? I do. If you don't, did you change anything and is your model the unlocked version ? Thank you

Just connected to it, did not get any dialog boxes or warnings. Connected right away.
Although the speed sucks which is why I don't use it. See picturesView attachment 4654902View attachment 4654903

It appears one has to have high accuracy location ON else nothing really works anymore in Pie.
In Oreo, my location was set as GPS only, all apps functioned fine like this. With all apps I'm referring to Google maps, Wifi analyzer, Google location sharing etc..
Can folks who are on One UI confirm this to be the case, as perhaps hopefully I'm missing something. I don't like the idea of being forced to use high accuracy all the time.

I think I figured it out. The setting I was looking for appears to be within Google location accuracy menu within Google settings. In Oreo I could set the location to GPS only from the setting menu and couldn't find it in One UI.

Sorry for the extra post. The only way I could locate "location accuracy" was within the attached screen.

So I've been having severe active drain lately (deep sleep is fine). I installed BBS to help me determine the drain. Everything seems fine on the partial and kernel wakelock, but when I checked on the sensor, one thing stands out: Google Play Services sensor kept on running even when the screen is active. Is this normal?

No. If this stock global official MIUI 10.3 rom, your best bet would be to reset.
