Lug Adapter Zenwatch 3
I looked at the pictures of the lug_adapter and to me personally
it looks ugly and not professional at all.
What's really needed is to find someone who can make lugs identical to the
original lugs attach to the watch just like the original ones but 20mm in size
so we can attach any 20mm bands to the watch without making the watch
look un-professional.
This lug adapter on Reddit looks similar to what I seen on Amazon.com
for the Samsung S2 Classic watch which had the extra link attached to
the original lug which also looked bad. (if you all know what I mean).
Have a great day!

It's live on kickstarter

Wow finally very interesting project.

This is available on Amazon now, but the reviews aren't stellar. Apparently, it's actually plastic not metal (why are they called Steel Connect?), and the color/texture doesn't match the watch metal at all (not even the black). I'm really disappointed because this looked like a really good (even though overpriced) solution, but I ended up buying the watch anyway after several companies came out with metal mesh bands that are specifically designed for the ZW3.

It works for me.
It's aluminium. Lightweight.
Though the corner edge is of the connector is sharp.
If you play with pets or kids, just take note not to scratch the kids.

As I said in my previous post here, the steel connect is an ugly piece of junk
which makes the Zenwatch 3 look like something home-made by someone
who does not know what they are doing.
It might be OK if you broke your stock band and there were no other choices
of bands, even then I would not pay more than 99 cents for it since that's all
it's worth. At Amazon Com there are many other very nice choices of bands
specifically for the Zenwatch 3 which look great and look very professional.
They also cost half as much as the cheap, ugly steelconnect adaptors.
Your screenshots prove my point very well, the steelconnect adaptor
makes the Zenwatch 3 look ugly and unprofessional. LOL
Have a great day!

How can a company sell something called "SteelConnect" when the

It's new year eve. Chill. I just post to share my experience.
Really like the aluminium used.
Though not sure your problem with "plastic". Definitely it is not made of plastic like what the Samsung Galaxy series is using.
Some other views with the aluminium finish. Take note sweat will erode the aluminium gently. So do wipe it with damp cloth regularly.

Sorry about that, I forgot it's almost New Years eve!
Enjoy your Zenwatch 3 with the steelconnect band adaptors.
Have a great day!

The photos of the connectors in the Amazon reviews really look plastic, and the reviews actually state they are. Do you know if the manufacturer created multiple versions? Maybe the original ones (prototypes) were plastic?
All that being said, your connectors don't look plastic and actually look pretty good (even if I don't really care for your choice of bands -- that's the Steel Connect band, right?). Glad you like them. I would probably buy a set myself if I could confirm the ones I would receive are definitely not plastic. I'm not paying $40 for plastic.
Happy new year!

Here's mine with a nato strap that came with the connector. I have had it for about 3 months I think.
Colour matching isn't perfect, but it does the job well.
Worth it or not? I guess it depends on whether if you really want to freely change watch straps.

Super-E-Trader does a generic car dock but it's a huge ungainly thing. Something more suited for the Samsung that isn't gonna be half the size of my little Mirage hatchback would be nice.

I just have a hard time believing that blue material is "sticky" enough to prohibit my tab from flying off there should I need to accelerate suddenly.
It's REALLY tacky. You can lift a bowling ball with that mount. Really.
Downside, that stuff is a grit magnet as well.

clingo makes products with same sticky stuff, i have couple of their products , it does get dirty and losses its "stickyness" but all you do is wash it with tap water and its back to the original sticky strength.

** tested the grip strength on the back of a sprint tab seems to work very well.
The mount shown has two adhesive pads so it should be fine
Would it destroy my nice leather Zenus if I tried mounting it?
Is it like the stuff those little gecko-tongue kids toys are made out of?

I think the scoche would work great. Overkill really. I bought this tiny mount and it works great for the galaxy tab. My got it with an employee discount is the only reason I chanced it. That stick'em on it is surprisingly strong.
I have the Scoche mount and it works great. The suction cup is made from the same sticky stuff and really holds itself and my Tab in place.
There is a warning included that it may discolor certain materials, so it is recommended to use it strictly on glass or with the included dash mount piece. I have mine mounted to the dash using the included piece (which uses 3m tape) and it's solid as a rock. Was kinda worried about it discoloring my tab, and the Zaggskin that I eventually added, but no problem with either one so far. Holds the tab really well.
I used one of those ratchet clamp style window mounts for an old PDA that I had and hated how it gripped the PDA. It would also lose suction on the glass and fall off, especially during hot days during the summer, and really cold days in the winter. The Scoche mount stays put and holds the tab much more securely than that old clamp mount did with the PDA.

Is this the same as the one your using? Is there enough of the sticky material to hold it tight?
Thats almost exactly like mine. And it sticks perfectly. I was a skeptic, but no longer. honestly it could hold the tab upside down if needed.
dugg67, where'd you buy your scosche mount? can't seem to find it anywhere except the scosche site.

OMG! The sticky stuff melted in my hot car and dripped down on my stereo buttons clogging them! I live in SoCal so it's not that hot! If you live in the US South West, don't buy this item. If you live in Alaska or Siberia, you'll have no problem with the sticky material melting and dripping.

i just bought one very similar to this at walmart for $20. i have the gs3 and i took of the side clips of the mount and i have the body glove tatic case which is a candy/gel caze and it sticks right to it. its ridiculous how secure it is and i highly recommend it. it is a very well made and designed piece. looks super clean also. the model of the one i have is:
IPH3GRR
though i cant find it online anywhere, only the IPH3GR which is different? the one i have is just like the one in the original post although the flex shaft is longer, about twice that judging from the pics. my kit from walmart consisted of this: http://www.scosche.com/consumer-tech/product/2097 with the exception that it also included the window mount.

found it on ebay actually, $12.99 free shipping. the one i have.

Treegloo smart case

Build your own case for the nexus7, choose the colours etc.. amazing....
oh, and every case is built with a magnet in the lid for smart screen!
I went all black with Manhattan Blue line colour... looks very nexus7
Yeah, we have discussed this case in several other threads.
I went with the Red + white elastic and purple cloth interior
+1 I spoke with them since Sunday regards to the kinetic clip/stand and smart cover which will be included. A bit pricey but I think worth the pennies I earn to have a unique, one-of-a-kind case (well to me lol).

Man you're advertising this everywhere lol. I preordered mine a few days ago. Can't wait.
Black outside, natural wood, yellow cloth inside and kinetic latch!!
Can't wait. I asked how long it'll take she said ships july 30, probably take 2 days to get to Cali.
It does definitely looks nice. I think I will order one for my nexus 7. Black covering, ebony wood trim, gray lining with a white elastic band closure strap.
just ordered mine. black exterior, ebony wood, apocalypse blue inside and kinect latch
Ooo i don't know, it looks great but also looks like a lot of extra bulk
Mad Midnight case, Ebony Frame, Knight Gray Cloth, and Black elastic.
I thought about the kinetic latch but with all the other tablets I have had, the cases that stand up were never really used.
Man, I am really tempted. Bit pricey, but I love the moleskin style and these seem like top quality. Hmm ....

Yeah I figure this is my "warranty" seems pretty protective and it looks really nice. Their customer service seems really good too, received a email reply the next day and they are active on their G+ and Twitter.
Edit: From their G+ in response to a question about the speaker and mics
"
We're so glad someone asked this, because we put a lot of R&D into it. We will be posting updated photos of the Nexus 7 case design very soon.
The speaker aligns with the bottom ledge of the frame, which helps direct the sound toward the user through the bottom port. It actually sounds better in the frame than when it's sitting on its own.
Regarding the mics, this really has to do with how we engineer our frames from the beginning. The rubber corners and accents allow for airspace around the device itself where the mics are located. This airspace is exposed to the wood, which helps capture sound.
"
They answered my query regarding magnetic lid very fast as well, wanted to make sure it was include regardless of latch/elastic strap, it is.
I did a bit of research about them and the general feel was bad quality for their ipad cases, but that was a few years ago. People had issue with the corners being quite blocky and the ipads falling out, but looking at the images online and on their facebook it seems a lot has changed since then
I did some research before making my order and I couldn't find anything from 2012 it seems. Which I think is ok since most posts are usually complaints. Some things I found were about shipping delays which I think they have fixed. But I did find posts where they did try to fix issues and I think they have been redesigning to make sure any past issues have been addressed.
Those do look like excellent cases, but man, $50 for a case for a tablet that cost $250. I'll have to ponder this one a bit.
Saw some of the shipping mentions too, but as stated they were older. I will be having to exchange my device in the near future, so really considering it ... this is where I'd like to see some user feedback / photos.

I couldn't bring myself to spend this much on a case, especially when I'm holding out for the docks to be released. I would dislike taking it out of the case to put it on the dock, as well as the added thickness and weight.
I hope i don't break my nexus 7 before the case comes..

I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on an epic black exterior, ebony wood, Old World Atlas interior print, and a Kinetic latch. Damned nice looking, even for the quoted 64.95.
i've found the same as everyone above. I would like to mention there are quite a few similar cases to this, not sure how many are making nexus 7 cases, but I did just email pen and quill. I also saw beaconcase.com and portenzo, but they are all about $50-$60....i'd go as high as $40 I think, but 50 and 60 is really getting up there, it would have to be a really good quality for me to pay 1/5 of the price of the tablet.....
Update from Portenzo:
We are so thankful to have customers who demand a well thought out, high quality product over instant gratification. We are looking into it. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates.
Thanks!

OFF TOPIC:
You talk about price, now I have started using vaja cases from my days of the PDA Sony Clie days and I still have this case this very day. Argentinian leather and top notch craftsmanship for protection. Its EXPENSIVE, but the leather and product I can def vouch for. They take about 3-4 weeks for custom orders which is awesome IMO and coming from Argentina, is pretty cool. Here's a pic below of an example of what they can do. I have posted a question on their G+ account about making cases for us. (well more begging lol).
This is an example of one of their more expensive cases for the ipad2. I personally don't like the texture and I am not a pink/fusia person, but some do (reminds me of the Soul headphone pads in the Ludicrous lines lol)

DODOcase HARDcover for Nexus 7 (Smart Cover)

Hey guys my coworker showed me this case today and wanted to share it with you all!
It's the DODOcase HARDcover for the Nexus 7. It's almost like the treegloo cases but I like this one a little bit better. It looks nice and I like the fact that there isn't an entire wooden frame surrounding the device but instead it's held up by an adhesive. Very nice and slim as well.
It also has smart cover functionality.
Check it out at:

Very nice, but it might be too late for me to cancel treegloo
Hmmm...$35 for the shell of a book and an adhesive? That seems really steep for something that wouldn't have much protection.
I got a treegloo for the same price and it comes with the wood frame, not to mention there were a crazy number of colors. I wonder if it's worth emailing them to see if they could make something like this...

Lol!! My thoughts exactly. It doesn't have enough coverage around the tablet and if that's the highest it can go as a landscape stand, try again..
Ehhh, there is no protection for the N7 with this case. The idea of using a reusable adhesive doesn't appeal to me at all, I really don't want to have to wipe my case down with water so that it can keep getting sticky. Nor do I like the lack of customzation. I do however, really like the matching elastic band and liner.
This and a tpu case together would work but sadly I see them becoming extinct fairly soon.
Anyone tried ordering the Potenzo version of this case for the Nexus 7 yet? It has the full features as on the iPad versions.
http://shop.portenzo.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=bookcase-for-nexus
Can't justify this kinda of money for a case that offers little to no protection. Just because you can customize it doesn't make it worth $40-$50.

They have the patent on rectangle, they could always use it.
Now they just need to get the patents on, gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer, magnetic field, orientation, linear acceleration, ambient light, gravity and any of the other sensors in the Nexus 7...
As I see it, I understand why 55% of the manufacturers have agreed to pay Microsoft some sort of "licensing" fee..
It's like a block of merchants in the mall, that are being threatened by one of the larger anchor stores (apple) because they sell similar products and take potential customers away from them. Then comes in the local gang (microsoft) offering "protection" in exchange for extortion monies..
Allowing them in a sense to be protected by a larger portfolio of patents and deeper unified pockets.
Slide to unlock, voice actions, really?!
This case looks dope.

Asus has been doing this for a while. My Asus Transformer has a magnet under the screen that turns it off and on. The Samsung Galaxy 10.1" had the same thing. Samsung even had a straight Smart Cover rip off and everything... and they DID get sued (the 3rd party company).
Laptops have been doing this for a long time now... and even Blackberry phones. Apple has nothing on this "tech" except maybe for the design (held on by magnets).
Probably one of the better looking cases that I've seen so far. Really tempted on purchased it. Just a little weary about the adhesive that is being used.
Hmm..just thought about this. Since there isn't a wood housing like the treeglo case. It can be repurposed for future 7" tablets.

There are three strips of a tape of sorts inside. It holds really well, I can tug on the tablet, shake the case, no problem.

iOttie Car dock, not bad for $20

Got myself a cheap temporary dock for my Note 2 until I get the ProClip one in a month or two (waiting till after xmas). Found this one on Amazon for a nice $20. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007FH716W/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I like it so far. Very stable and has a good range of motion to it. No vibrations at all, (does start shaking a little bit when doing 150).
Also works nicely to hold it as a dash camera.
Also holds my phone with no problem with the Body Glove case on it.
Oh and that white square isn't part of it. Thats one of my NFC tags to start Waze and CoPilot whenever I put it in the dock.
Feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer them as best I can.
Anyway, here's some pictures:

This dock is technically one of those "universal ones", but it works well because of the spring loaded lock.
When you press the phone in, it hits this little button and snaps the side grips closed on your phone.
Then once they are closed, to release, just press these two and it unlocks the phone.
And nice thing is, because of how you have to release it, the phone will fall into your palm and you can just grab and go.
thanks for posting this, looks like a nice mount, the only thing i wish it had was a built in microusb cable to automatically start charging without me having to connect it lol
+1 for STi
/highfive
The nice thing is that it will grab textured dash just as well. Mine has been on my dash for over a week and it is not losing it's grip.
Do the holders at the bottom block the mic?
Thanks for the pics and the review, I've been looking for a cheap dock. The phone falls out of the cubby holes in my car's dash. lol
can you show a picture with the arms at their WIDEST with the phone in it ? IE how much "wider" can it go? (my cases add a lot of bulk to the phone)
I don't know why you guys buy car dock for. Its big and ugly. Its always in the way. It looks like a cawk sticking out from the windshield. Its best to get a 1 inch rubberband and 3 dollar case and modify it. I had it done on my sg2. I'm waiting on my case and will post pictures later.
because in order to use the phone case as a dock you need to use the phone SANS CASE and that is not acceptable to me
as for why a dock? thats easy. fumbling with the phone while driving is a good way to die and possibly kill others ie don't do it.
dock makes it convenient. Slip Grip made a case for the impact case I use for the S3 hopefully they will make an impact case for the Note II and hopefully slip grip will make a grip for the Note II in the impact case

Your bulky case couldn't possibly be bigger than this behemoth:
There is still a couple of mm on each side so it wil accomodate even an otterbox defender is my guess.
actually that's what I call a slim case the cases I use feom case ology are quite a bit thicker in both thickness and width

Sorry, the $10 with coupon is for the iPhone model, the one for Note 2 is $25 and am not sure if the coupon code applies.

I did tried to use the coupon for the Note version, but no go.

Hey does this have an AMPS pattern mount? I have a Brodit base and I'm looking for a holder that can grab an iphone as well as a note.
Any stores sell this car dock?

That's one FAT case, but for those that want to be 100% safe, here you go! hehe. Tons of colors, too.
And for only 17 dollars @@
We have been talking about this knock-off case for 2 weeks already in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174889
It's a fake Griffin case for Note 2, even so Griffin does NOT even make cases for Note 2. They took S3 design and scaled it up to Note 2. This is NOT waterproof case, but has one of the best protections, better than Defender. Check out my review in the link above. Plus, you can get it cheaper from www.tvc-mall.com

Pretty sweet looking case, choice of colors are good also... the holster doesnt convince me much but for the price its worth a try.. although the camera being covered might present a problem for someone who uses the camera often.
Look into my review here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174889 and also scroll down to the second post where you see a lot more pictures. Quality is superb, protection is better than Defender, built in screen protector is very functional (though have to remove inner plastic cover which I forgot to do lol!!!), the case will be very bulky with additional protection but it's meant for a heavy duty rugged use outdoors. You toss this em-effer from a 5 story building on a concrete floor and it will probably survive
Belt clip is bot as sturdy, but its a design of original Griffin Survivor. Keep in mind, Griffin does NOT make Survivor for Note 2. This is improvised knock off where S3 case was scaled up for Note 2 footprint. Camera flip is fine because it attaches on a string where you can turn it out of the way without a need to hold down the flap.

Think it's too much to hope I can buy 2 of these and mix colors? From the other fake survivor thread it seems like the quality control on these can be spotty. Do the microphone holes look much smaller on these than the ones from case parts or am i imagining things?
Also, I too am wondering about the validity of this site.

Of Aliexpress? I buy from them all the time. I have yet to have an issue with the sellers. Also, you should buy from popular sellers. Regardless, they don't get paid until you get the product in your house and release the funds. I wish I could say the same about CrapBay.
locally here in china.. 42RMB is around $6.75

I ended up ordering one locally here in china on taobao. The case is really nice and I like it alot. The only downside is the rubber that protects the camera I could do without . It is a littke bit of a hassel when you want to take a picture. Other than that well worth thr $6 usd.

The only bad part that I dont like about this case is that the power cable if you use a non standard end it will not connect properly because the case.

Why would you want to use an escrow service for such a small amount?
That's how they do their sales. Wasn't another option available on the site or at least not one I could find.
