In rootcloak you need to make sure you add the app you are trying to hide root from. Is the rootcloak module activated and have your rebooted your phone after activating it?

Hello guys. I'm tempted to install Magisk on my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. I have the latest CM13 Nightly + Xposed and I want to ask if Magisk has any problem running alongside these two.
Another question is if I can still use the built in CM13 root.
Thanks for your answers!
Im running on CM 13 (ZenFone 2 Laser ZOOL) stable and it works fine.
The only problem is that with xposed active the safetynet check don't pass. But its just a matter of disabling xposed and rebooting when necessary.
I dont know if the differences are too significant, but hope it helps.

That means Magisk doesn't work with Xposed ? Or I just have to unninstall Xposed and then install again after installing Magisk ?

Magisk itself works perfectly with Xposed installed, only Magisk Hide that doesn't hide Xposed.
So if you don't plan on using any app that checks Safety Net (Pokemon Go, Android Pay, for example) You won't have any problem.

and what about the built in CM13 root ?
I think the newest Magisk auto removes it when you flash it.
But I had manually removed before installing magisk on mine.
But in any case, if I remember correctly you can just remove it thru the SuperSU app before flashing Magisk.

No problem. Just remember to make a nandroid backup first if you are worried.
As you may or may not know @rovo89 might abandon Xposed (unofficial); Since Xposed was ported systemless, is there a chance Magisk and it's devs would continue developing it and incorporating into Magisk?
The reality of the situation is that Magisk modules are more complicated to write for devs than Xposed modules. Magisk would benefit from having more modules and available and users would benefits from having Xposed for Nougat. It's a win win.
Having said that we all know Magisk and Xposed have nothing to do with each other and the fuctionaly.
Magisk modules are very easy to make...

Lol, Xposed modules are apps, which means it's written in java, which is very different than shell, which is used in Magisk modules, which is easy af.
So, the answer is no ?

I know a while back Xposed tripped Pokemon GO even with Magisk. Is this still the case with the most up to date version of Xposed and Magisk? I only want Xposed for privacy tools like XPrivacyLua

yes you can
No , you cant. The support for xposed finished on Oreo. But you can like me, install EdXposed which is port of Xposed for newer androids by other developer.

Are you using Mauronofrio's TWRP or Brigudav's one? They support encryption just fine.
There is essentially no point installing Xposed anymore. You should opt to use Magisk Modules instead. They are a lot better from my experience. Many of the Xposed modules are not supported by the later versions of Android anyways unlike Magisk Manager. If you are still persistent with installing Xposed, then use EdXposed.

You mean quequeing zips? 'cause you're not supposed to do that if both zips act on the System partition; you have to flash one, reboot to recovery and flash the other.
Brigudav's OrangeFox supports MIUI's OTA updates, FYI
