Which resurrection remix is the best? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

There are 4 versions (more or less) of Resurrection Remix ROMs (e.g Zenity, Sultan's, EAS-VOX) for the 3T and i don't know which to choose. I'm looking for the most stable, battery friendly and OMS-supported out of all of them. Support for custom kernels would also be nice but if it doesn't support them it's okay. Also, if there are any ROMs that has most of the features i listed, do let me know

Hi, i had same problem. And i did choose that one: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http...sQE_8mxFikIynqJh4-cR9FyJiJ2kS201c6wpHZZNl&s=1

I think they are all good but this version -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...development/rom-resurrection-remix-m-t3399960
Is the best in my opinion.
1. most frequent updates.(currently even nightlies)
2. comes with ex kernel
3. is the only aosp/laos rom out there that doesnt throttle while playing moderncombat.
I tried all other aosp/laos roms, not only all rr roms. And they all start throttling while playing moderncombat even with the same ex kernel and kernel settings. The game simply starts lagging because the cpu clocks down. And the funny thing is the device doesnt even start heating.
I was almost sure that the official rr is better but i switched back to the custom version and was shocked that it never throttles while playing even when gpu boost is on "high". You can also set the kernel settings using akt app to get better battery life. But for me the battery is good enough.

Zenity is with EAS and with a kernel based on Renderkernel.
Sultanized RR is not based on official LOS, rather on sultans LOS 14.1
more infos you can get in their threads (OP). I would choose one of these. Both are stable and with OMS

LOST in a sea of roms

Hi there.
I been spending several hours reading user's opinions about several roms for the xsp.
I saw plenty of unofficial roms based on cyanogenmod official roms. And the question that pops into my mind it's.
Why so many mods? People doesn't like the official releases?
Also I been reading that 5.1 roms are laggy, and in a custom rom i'm looking for stability and performance.
Maybe I should go for and official cyanogenmod 11 rom?
Maybe for a stock based rom?
What do you think?
Hello.
Yes, there is a lot of rom for SP. But just a few work as it supposed to.
Lollipop it is in his nightly stage, though is very stable and the most recent apps, you will be able to use.
There is too a recent patch for security, we should take in consideration, Im using myself as a daily driver without problems, nevertheless still have some minor bugs, but nothing that cant make you wish to throw your SP on wall
If you want to test and see how looks like, I would recommend Sabermod Unofficial Or CM 12.1 Official Nightly
cm12.1+ addons imo cuz it's my second full month on it and it never failed me ....no problems for me and great performance

battery is good too yep
Go for CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies with addons...Its Best for lollipop based ROMs.
You can try unofficial CM13 also if you can use the phone without camera. Battery life and performance of CM13 is far better than cm 12.1.
To be honest, is a matter of usage and preference. For me it was working fine but my phone got way too hot for my taste, but the deal breaker was that no matter what lolipop ROM I used facebook HD playback was choppy as hell. I know that it sounds silly but that's something that I need. None of these issues exist on stock, of course (C5306 - 1.205)
I think the Sabermod unofficial takes the lead on cm12.1 ... Great battery and butter smooth. I think it' s the for performance and battery !
I use official CM11 slimmed by me, without gapps, disabled LogCat, little modified build.prop + WilliamsPLUS and I'm really happy ; p
which 5.1 rom has fewer lag and more batterylife?
@beodo
A sea of roms but many of them are discontinued or not updated, so first check that one.
As fellow members said CyanogenMod 12.1 Unofficial SaberMod with add ons is the best right now for me as well, very fast, really fluid, stable and good battery life, in is some parts is even better than the latest official stock rom.
I m using this rom for over a month and i love it.
If you need even better battery life you could use Helium kernel (just dirty flash at recovery) and enable conservative governor, if you would like to take it further you can also install xposed framework which unlocks you much more features like power saving better experience, extra customization and more.
All of the above are continuously updated and supported by our great developers too :good:

Best rom for 3T?

Wjat is best rom for Oneplus 3T and why? But I want rom where xposed is working.
No ROM is 'the best'
You have numerous options to test and see for yourself which one suits your needs the best. You can go either for stock (based) or AOSP ROMs, it's all about what you are looking for. Also no choice is bad here - all ROMs for 3T are of really outstanding quality and not a single one will let you down. Just play around for a couple of days, try out different ways to go and pick your favorite.
If it's about me - latest stock rooted with Magisk is just enough. Oxygen OS is supremely optimized and the system is almost pure Android but with all the essential flavors AOSP lacks.
Fully agree with the previous comment. If there was a "best" ROM for everyone, we would all be using it, and there wouldn't be a need for any ROM except that one. What features are important in a ROM, is going to vary from person to person. The performance and stability (often a question "which ROM has the best performance?") is also going to vary drastically depending on how you as an individual use the phone, apply further tweaks, etc.
Your best bet is to browse through the ROMs, select a couple or few that look like they meet your preferences, and flash them, and try for yourself (be sure to make a TWRP backup of your current setup before flashing any ROMs, so you can easily revert); and see what works best for you.

No i don't have, bought this phone on this week's monday. Immediately rooted and flashed twrp, Now I have Resurrection Remix, but it's little bit buggy and not filling my expectations. (Sry for bad english)
I'm looking for a really good ROM, too.
Stability, everything should work fine. Don't want to clean flash every few months.
I don't need to customize every colour of every object. Need a perfect ROM for using it every day.
Any recommendations?
best rom official rr or the one from varun himself (g+)
no rom is the best.
you have to try some of them and choose one !
i tried at least more than 10 roms + defualt kernels and custom kernels.
and compare them together and flashed best based on my usage ! ( your usage may vary and of course other roms is best for you )
but :
if your main concern is not heavy camera usage and want stability + battery + xposed , i suggest you Sultanxda CM13 rom.(which i am using now.)

I like Dirty Unicorns very much.
Not so feature rich as Resurrection Remix, but rock solid and stable, with the most needed addons.
Camera quality is also very good.
Custom ROM with MM support and custom Kernel support should be good. Its either Custom Roms with MM support without custom kernel support or Nougat with custom kernel support.
I test LineAge OS from Sultanxda. It's popular for battery life and stability.

Every rom is good in a way, there is no "best"

Have you compared sultanxda lineage with stock regarding battery life?
Resurrection Remix is the all in one package with every feature available. But some people called that bloated :silly:
I prefer stability and battery life and don't want to change every colour of every symbol.
I checked different Resurrection Remix ROMs. Nice, but at the moment I use lineage OS from sultanxda.
1 or 2 updates a month only and everything running perfectly. Nothing to play, but perfect daily driver.
But if I get bored, I will play with some ROMs
Freedom OS is the best custom rom available for One Plus. It is completely based on stock with zero bloatware and it supports essentials like Viper, Ad-block etc. I have been using this for almost 3 months and haven't seen a single issue yet and the best part about this rom is you get better battery life the stock.

They are both great.
If you like features and want to customize every element of the GUI use Resurrection Remix.
If you like not so many features and more stability and battery life use lineage OS from sultanxda.
I prefer lineage OS, but it depends on your wishes.
id stick with stock. Ive tried lots of others and anything lineage based is pretty terrible. I know they put a lot of work into the OS but its not good. You always sacrifice something when using it, for me it was being able to use my recent apps menu, gps accuracy, battery life, multiwindow lag weird kernel intrusions such as frequency locking, overheating, random slowdowns, random inputs and speedups that just zip past every input ive wanted to do and does the last 10 things at once, scroll lag, touch lag, it goes on and on. Stick with stock oxygen, its the OS that was made especially for the 3/3T. The only thing wrong with it is some translation issues. But theyre funny because you know what they got wrong. For example you will never see the word "Okay" in stock oxygen it is always "Yes" its funny.

This questions is so vague, as to have no answer. There is no "good" or "bad", just what fits the particular individual. Plenty of folks are happy on the stock ROM, and plenty of folks are happy with any of the custom ROMs, as well. Everyone has different preferences, needs, usage patterns. You don't make any mention of your specific preferences or requirements. Even if you did, it's not that hard to read through the ROM threads, and just decide for yourself. No stranger is going to make the right decision for you.

Yes, it is. Call it what you want: most popular, favorite, best ROM. It's still all just the same question. Everyone has massively different preferences and needs, and your experience will vary drastically depending on how you as an individual use your phone. Asking strangers to make a decision for your is not only useless, it is also bizarre. You clearly already have the knowledge/ability to try various ROMs (as you stated you did). So leaving the decision to something as arbitrary as a stranger's whim (or a ROM's popularity) is just strange.
I'd also caution against using a ROM, just because it's widely used and "most popular". Plenty of times in the past, the ROM that worked best for me, was one that was less popular, and more obscure. You do yourself an injustice by ignoring these "hidden gems".
For the first time after using a smartphone, i decided to settle with Stock ROM. For me, it gives the best UI and a lot of useful options. I don't even need to tell that the Stock camera is far better than any other apps used in other Custom ROMs. Battery is really amazing too considering my way to use the cellphone( Facebook app, the great battery villain is full time here in use).

Fot OP3T i have tried Oxygen official, Oxygen Beta, Lineage & Ressuruction.
To me Oxygen beta since May has become really good, improved battery a lot.
Stock is always better
What about paranoid android?
Dear Sir,
If quick update is the requirement, the Lineage is the best and I have to say unofficial sultan 14.1 is the same as he is also quick but If you are installing sultan 14.1 for only battery back up then I think you should have a look with custom kernel such as franco and elemenatlx which are great in battery back up.
But for me and also with some other friends, stock oxygen is the best as camera is the main priority for me. For other features magisk is readily available.
Thanks to all developers for the support time to time.

Mokee ROM thread (UNOFFICIAL) - discussion and peer support.

Hi all.
I am not the developer of this ROM. I have created this thread as there seems to be no real place for non-chinese speakers to discuss this ROM and help each other with any problems.
Mokee is currently at Oreo for the S5 and is under active development, receiving nightly builds.
Here is the link to the official downloads page:
https://download.mokeedev.com/?device=klte
One of the reasons I created this thread was to ask fellow users a couple of questions...
Does anyone know if Mokee 8.1 supports fast charge? It seems to take a while to charge, but I'm not sure if that's just my cable or other factors?
Does anyone else experience graphical performance issues? Playing YouTube videos is often stuttery, and I've noticed many games are laggy with lots of low fps. Performance in the ROM is generally very good, so I'm not sure if it's an issue with the gpu drivers or something...?
Cheers

I used the Magisk fast charge module which worked well.
I would recommend flashing a custom kernel.

So fast charge isn't supported as standard in Mokee?
Will a custom kernel enable it, or will that just help with graphics performance? Any recommendations?
Cheers

It should improve overall performance
Here are a few kernels to get you started.
SMARTPACK KERNEL:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/kernel-project-kltexxx-t3564206
BOEFFLA KERNEL (UNOFFICIAL)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ffla-kernel-unofficial-lineage-os-15-t3764497
OreKazu Kernel:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/orig-development/kernel-orekazu-kernel-project-t3741374
TUNED KERNEL:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...unofficial-boeffla-kernel-lmkmod-low-t3685662
I recommend using Smartpack kernel manager to tune Smartpack kernel & OreKazu kernel (link on Smartpack Op)
Use BOEFFLA configuration app for BOEFFLA (unofficial)
You can also use it for tuned kernel but it is called tuned kernel for the very reason that it comes pre tuned, just flash it and leave it to do it's thaaaang! ?
Al of the above kernels work with 15.1 Oreo. They are all excellent Kernels, but if you do not know much about tweaking kernel settings, I would recommend that you start with Tuned.
The Magisk fast charge module will work with Tuned. There is a fast charge setting in the Smartpack kernel manager for Smartpack kernel.
I hope I have covered everything.

Thanks loads, I've heard lots of good things about Smartpack so might go for that. I'll have a look at some guides about tuning it.
If I can't figure it out I'll try the tuned kernel.
The page launches a daily update and I think no one has time to download and update it daily so how often is it advisable to update the rom?

Do you just do a dirty flash (wipe dalvik and cache?)

No, I always clean flash, including Format data.
I'm noticing more and more bugs:
- Web pages don't always respond to touch properly.
- Website videos don't go fullscreen properly.
- IR blaster doesn't seem to work (Anymote app says phone doesn't have one).
Anyone else have these issues? Are they fixed in recent nightly builds? Any fixes or work arounds?
Cheers

I'm currently on a nightly from 2018-10-29.
I know you said that you do a clean install every time, but if I did a dirty flash of a new nightly that should be alright, yeah?
Reeaaally don't want to reset my phone again, I've done it lists recently and it's a PITA.
If I have to reset I'd probably just go for something solid like Lineage 14.1

The problem with dirty flashing is you can bring over bugs from the previous build.
I found that downloading nightlies through the Mokee centre app would allow the ROM to update automatically through a script than runs in the recovery. It didn't appear to wipe *anything* though.
Everything seemed to upgrade smoothly.
I still have the same bugs though. The nightlies mostly seem to be translations and minor bug fixes for other devices.
