Has anyone tried the new xposed for LP alpha on 1st gen Moto X running 4.4.4 and ART? Wondering if it was worth a shot to try it with GravityBox for LP or just wait until official update arrives for the phone.

Well not only does the Lollipop version support ART instead of Dalvik, it also is meant to work with the Lollipop framework, not KK. Unfortunately I don't think it will work.

That's what I suspected, especially given the silence on the subject. Thanks for the reply. I can wait for the LP update, and hopefully by then, xposed and modules will be a bit more mature.
Has anyone asked if the dev will be releasing a KK-compatible version of Xposed and GravityBox to use with ART? It can only help them work out any issues and bugs. I know I'd switch over to ART to help them out. I've been wanting to try it out since I got the phone but I've been far too spoiled by both apps.

Seems kind of backwards to me. Xposed is meant to alleviate the need for a custom ROM by enabling you to add features to your stock ROM. Now they're basing its functionality off a custom ROM to begin with?

Doesn't make any sense to me either. But maybe they feel CM needs it more than the stock rom.

reflash your rom or push a 6.o kernel to your phone and flash it.
before you make anymore mods to your phone, you want to make a backup within twrp recovery, in case you end up like this. then you can always restore it.

Its important to first flash the kernel and then the latest superSU.zip from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/wip-android-6-0-marshmellow-t3219344.

you do realize that when flashing kernels, that you dont have to reflash supersu(if you already have root)? :silly:

I was (am) under the impression that after every kernel flash superSU had to be flashed too At least with 6.0.1.

well, im not on 6.0.1, im on 6.0, and i flashed a kernel yesterday without flashing supersu, and i still have root. in theory, on 6.0.1, it should still be the same, as your supersu doesnt get removed when you flash another kernel. but, im not perfect, so i guess i could be wrong when it comes to 6.0.1

I flashed stock 5.1.1, then flashed ROOT and last flashed TWRP 3.0.0. With last TWRP it cause botloop on logo screen. So, I flashed again ROM and ROOT but this time I flashed TWRP 2.8 and it works. I think it depends on TWRP version.

1st i tried it with the 2.8 = bootloop crash
2nd flashed dj_steves rom including twrp 2.1 = works
3rd flashed stock XXU1BOK7 cause of some other crashes, then twrp 3.0, then root, custom Kernel (tried CurtisMJ and dj_steves), and at last xposed for touchwiz by wanam (2015.12.17) = works great w/o crashes ?
I re-did my kernel and all is well except it breaks both CM root and SU root. Where would be a good place to start looking in source?
Nexus 6, Marshmallow.

nope, considering any kernel that works on aosp should also work on CM. anyways, you cant lise root by flashing a kernel. simce root is in sysyem, beside systemless root. and kernels dont touch your system.

I cant get root on any ROM. AOSP or CM based. Now if I flash my old kernel it runs fine. On the new "rebased" kernel root is broken. Both SuperSU and CM root

This is a prerooted lite stock rom with no issues.
When the info of @simms22 doesn't solve the root issue; give it a try.
RR rom is pre rooted as well. Ive had people test it on other roms still got snake eyes. Must be something i missed

try supersu 2.74 BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip
I think the issue is why its not working as it should. Pre rebase it works fine. Im missing something i just dont know what
Edit: if I knew what files could effect root I would have a place to start
