[Q] Flashing other carrier firmware after unlock

I am currently using a VZW non dev edition, WITH a unlocked bootloader. I use t-mobile for my service now. As with any other VZW moto x on t-mobile, I cannot use the LTE portion of the network without losing the ability to make phone calls and send text messages. I gather from countless days of digging that its related to LTE -> CDMA handoff. I see more than a few times that its possibly a motorola issue. My question is as follows:
Can I, and more importantly, can I SAFELY RSD the t-mobile SBF files into this phone?
Has anyone tried this and did it fix the problem?
If it wont take am I looking at a brick right off that bat or can I RSD the VZW sbf's back into the phone?
I saw recently a post about flashing Dev Edition firmware into a AT&T moto x.
I am competent with all the tools and the process itself, I would rather hear from more learned peoples before I start experimenting with something that will brick my phone....
Thanks for taking the time to read, any input at all is greatly appreciated!

Hey,
While I don't have ton of experience with the above mentioned situation. If you're gonna try I would say being wiping the cache and falshing the system only to see if it sticks.
I've read around that flashing other carriers software can hard brick. I've seen specific mention of incompatible modems and of course bootloaders (please stay away from flashing other carriers bootloaders)
Also you gotta check the stickies! Great info and better help sometimes, You may want to refer your question Resource Guide Way better answers there.
Maybe that will get you an answer.

You can RSD the tmo factory SBF without issue. When I did it I just edited the XML to avoid flashing the bootloader. My vzw dev ed moto x now works perfectly on tmo. Of course, do so at your own risk.

You, Sir, are THE MAN! Your post is exactly what I was looking for, is there any way I can get you to post your edited XML, or what line you removed, I am so excited to finally solve this problem! Thanks again!
Edit: CONFIRMED WORKING ON NON DEV EDITION VZW MOTO X.....I removed the getvar line and the motoboot line (bootloader) from the .xml ZERO errors during rsd flash, and phone now WORKS!!!! I cannot thank you enough my friend, if you are ever in texas the beer is on me! Let this be a ref. for anyone looking to take the VZW MOTO X to T-Mobile.

Glad it worked for you too! I was just about to reply with the actual lines to delete, but it looks like you got the 2 that I deleted. For all I know, the bootloaders are the same, but I didn't want to find out the hard way by risking a brick. It blows my mind that we can use a Verizon phone on T-Mobile, and be fully functional except for 3G on the AWS band. I originally bought the Verizon Moto X with the intention of switching to Verizon, but then got cold feet after testing with a Verizon SIM from work.

[Q] How do unbrick in Moto x 2014 (snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC)?

I did downgrade to 4.4.4 and updated via OTA for 5.0! The phone died. Not enter into fastboot and only one green LED lights up. Already searched several tutorials a solution to this, but I can not. Already tried using blankflash, also tried using tools for processor and always has an error I do not understand. Please help! :crying:
As of now, there is no way to reflash the bootloader/recover from a hard brick.

We don't have yet the files for blankflash our Moto X 2014.
I opened this thread in motorolaforums to request the files: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/b6cb5537f5
You can post there to push the thread.

Moto G 2nd Gen ( XT1068) hard bricked: neither turning on, nor opened by blankflash

One morning i restarted my phone( Moto G 2nd gen.) with Android Marshmallow because it went slow, but after that it restarted in fastboot mode when i pressed the power on button. Normal startup or recovery were also not working.
I checked this forum, then unlocked the bootloader and downgraded to Android 4.4.4 . My phone operated well, then at night it started asking for lollipop update again and again, i allowed for OTA update (that was my biggest mistake), and after downloading the data and during update, my phone went off and didn't start again.
Although the indicator light glows solid for sometime when connected to wall charger or to PC via USB cable.
I have tried blankflash, ADB and fastboot utility, Volume down + Power combination, pressing power button for over 120 seconds, but all in vain.....
Please suggest me a way to solve this problems, i have important data in my phone and i want to save those too.
Welcome to the hardbrick club ^^
They all did the same mistake like you did. When you go throught the motoG Threads you will see all did the same.
The only solution is a clean flash what is not given from motorola for moto g2. The only existing is for moto g what did not work for our phones
Feel blessed, you don't have to use moto g anymore.

I tried with blankflash which supports android 4.4 but not 5.0, so it must be a requiring MBM-CI 5.0 ? is it available or any expected month of arrival?

. I wish I could say it was, but unfortunately Motorola won't release this file. There have been some serious attempts to solve this problem but none have succeeded.. As far as I know the only way to fix this problem is by getting a new motherboard..
Hellow
friend, do not know if motorola and released this file, or if there are already solution ?, I appreciate your answer

if you from another region then need to wait for blank flash zip
There are some methods to extract the partition layouts...one can be using dd cloning & extracting img files...another can be through B2bSupportLg Tool, also calleld BoardDiag. It does have MSM8226 chipset option, but that device is W7 G2MDS. Take a working Moto G 2014 from someone, ask them to use this tool to extract the partition schemes, then you'll get .mbn files, especially prog_emmc_filehorse_msm8226.mbn . Use that to dump into the bricked device using either QFIL Tool or use this blankflash tool, replace it's singleimage files with the one you got, then execute blank-flash.bat.
Also I had some emmc prog firehorse files, all 4 related to 8x26...You can try those & confirm me if they work or not

Motorola Moto X Hard bricked (QDLOADER 9008)

Hi all,
I had recently gotten a moto X (XT1060 Verizon Variant) from a friend who said that it had died during a software update and it never came back. I have tried to bring it back via the HOW TO (resurrecting a bricked moto X) thread on here with no luck, now I was wondering If there was anyone out there who still has this device and is willing to upload a rawprogram0.xml and patch0.xml, or at least direct me to a site that possibly has them, so I could try and bring it back through the qualcomm flash image loader. If anyone already has these files, please let me know!
Thanks!!

Hi, please have a motorcycle x play XT1053, I'm trying to give a hard reset because my daughter forgot the password to draw, but after the procedure it returns to the ROM that is and does not touch anything. I also tried to update the rom but without success via adb, it returns the same rom with the configurations that are, that is, I can not get back from the factory because I do not have the password nor hard reset because it returns to what is already, somebody can help me ?
