Hi All
The GF's z3c recently took a bath in a sink full of washing up liquid, and as it was suffering from the common screen lift issue we suspect that was where water got in.
It was sent off to imend and they cleaned up the corrosion and dried it out, however they found (via replacing the screen) that the water had damaged the display chip on the motherboard and they couldn't risk replacing it.
I've purchased a MHL to hdmi adaptor off ebay (here) and can get the phone screen to display on the TV however the touch screen is erratic and unresponsive. As I cant unlock it I cant mount it as a drive or get at it via ADB (fastboot works but I cant do much with that & it is rooted on the stock 6.x rom).
My next thought was to connect up a USB mouse as I cant pair a bluetooth one and use that but in reading up on it, it would appear that the usb port can be used for MHL or USB OTG not both simultaneously. Has anyone successfully connected a usb device and MHL display on this phone & if so how? My thought is a micro usb hub, mhl adaptor in one side, mouse in the other. Something like this this
Failing that is there any way to get into ADB or pull a backup with only fastboot access?
Thanks

It started about 1-month ago, the microphone quit working. I purchased another usb/microphone connector from EBAY, installed, and all was good until the cheap USB port literally came off the solder. Purchased another and installed, but this time the black clip that holds the flex cable in place broke off. After several attempts with tape, the connector stayed in place, but the phone would only charge and sporadically allow me to use the phones full USB functions.
Right now the black connector is still broken off, the phone will only charge so no USB functions like fast charge, and the microphone works randomly. Is there an easy fix to reconnect the black clip? Actually, I've lost the black clip now, and don't think that the tape is doing a good job at all.
Another strange behavior was when the phones case was pressing against like usb/mic that was installed, it would not work anymore. It was almost like there was a short somewhere.
Hi everyone,
I recently drop two times my Sony Z3 Compact on the floor (with a cover, but apparently it was not enough). It fall two times exactly on the same upper-left corner (micro-usb port location).
On first drop, I broke micro-usb port, sd-card port, front-camera (black screen when active), and screen was cracked, but still working.
Then on second drop, I broke back-camera (black screen when active), and the screen is no longer tactile. The smartphone is still functionning, though (I'm receiving notifications, and physical buttons are still working: volumes, camera button, power; and also magnetic port is still working.
It is near to the dead, but I have an important issue. I still need to recover my personal pics which is stored on internal memory. It is very important pics and I'm seeking on all possibilities to recover them, before sending the phone to Sony support (and I believe they cannot recover my pics themselves).
I bought a magnetic adaptater but it seems that it is used for charging only. I tried to plug a microusb OTG with intend to plug a keyboard or a mouse, but without success (since I have the magnetic port working only and microusb port is broken).
Phone is locked with a numeric password, is protected by corporate enforcement rules (if I lose it, they can trigger a factory reset remotely).
Any ideas to find a simple way to fill PIN in it (e.g. with external keyboard, HDMI CEC remote, ?? but I have no idea of what could works with magnetic port) ?
Or a complex way to read internal memory ?
hi ,
i have a htc one m7 that is not recognized by pc when it is in bootloader mode, however the phone doesn't charge properly when i plug it in the current because the cable moves when it is plugged.
if i use a micro usb with not long exit, it charges well, if i use a cable with big exit, it moves easily and it often doesn't charge.
the second problem is:
the highest part of the screen doesn't recognize the touch, to use that part i have to press strongly and using the entire finger or a big part of it (if i use the extremity of the finger, it doesn't work ), AND the highest point of the screen ( status bar) doesn't work NEVER.
How to fix micro usb?
How to fix screen problem (i think that is a software problem)
i have not original charging cable
i have just tried to do make electro-shocks to the screen but it doesn't work

If your usb port is damaged you can replaced it. Removing the cover of the phone is a little tricky but once done, the usb board is easily replaced.
You can test your touchscreen by lauching the diagnostic menu by dialing *#*#3424#*#* form there you can access the line drawing test. Test your screen and if some inputs are not registered then your digitizer is probably faulty and will need to be replaced.
Hi, my friend has an older LG G2 that took a hell of a beating... apparently he left it on the roof of his car this morning and because of the silicone edge of the case it didn't come off until he took a turn. He figured it out when his BT disconnected but by the time he recovered it it had been run over at least once and the screen is totally trashed. Only half the display works at all, and the part that does has lines through it, and it appears the digitizer has been mangled too, so it's utterly unresponsive to touch (using a stylus of course, because it's shedding glass shards like a dog shedding its winter coat).
He brought it to me in hopes that I could recover his stuff off it, but when I plug in the USB cable, it charges but I can't access the storage. Is there any way to force the phone into any USB transfer mode (I could make do with MTP, PTP, or Mass Storage) without having to poke something on the screen?
it took me 2 years to finally break this phone... i dropped it on asphalt, bricks, slate, concrete, wood, and metal, and it turned out to be the cheap tile flooring in the back of the dunkin donuts i work at that destroyed it. the digitizer will not power on and it does not appear to take input from half the screen. im using an iphone 4 (not a 4s) for the time being and that's just fine but what i need is the stuff off of the oneplus. the device is definitely functional behind the digitizer, im not sure if it's worth repairing it or waiting for the 6t or something but i just need to remove the remaining data from the phone so i can put it away and stop thinking about how stupid it is that i dropped it. any ideas?
If it's only the digitizer, get a USB-C male to USB-A Female adapter and plug in a mouse and keyboard. That way you can transfer the data wirelessly to a network location.
or use a USB-hub and plug in a large USB flash drive next to the mouse and keyboard.
that does make sense, though will it work for the power on password? also how would the screen be viewed?
