What is my theory? Well, I use the twin app function for WhatsApp (My phone is dual sim) and I thinking this function is the problem.
Anyone with similar problem?
btw, my solution is deleted data app but this causes what I have to configure WhatsApp again.
Thanks
Huawei P10 lite Whatsapp Twin app, consuming storage data
WhatsApp Twin App storage data (ie. setting-App-Whatsapp-Storage data- DATA) increases everytime WhatsApp is opened, even when I Restrict my Background data and when my phone is in Airplane Mode. Storage Data increases by approximately 10 Megs everytime Whatsapp is opned and increases to about 15 Gigs eventually.
This only happens with WhatsApp twin App but WhatsApp single mode works perfect.

Any Solutions please?
Huawei Mate 9 whatsapp storage and battery problem
I've the same problem by using the native twin-feature for Whatsapp. When the Mate 9 doesn't have internet connection, the Whatsapp storage grows explosive (1Mb per second) and the battery will be drained.. This is 100% reproducible by turning on flight-mode.
Very annoying problem, I specifically chose Huawei because of this native twin-feature.
Anybody fix this bug?
Got this problem too even with latest B190 firmware, it fills storage and drains battery
Have you tried to duplicate WhatsApp using Island (from the Greenify creator)?
I think should work better
Another option is to use any of the many existing mods with different packages names for the second number. My current favorite is yowhatsapp which also includes privacy and theming options.
Yeah, the option is to use another twin app solution and see if the problem is repeated. But one reason I bought the P10 was because of this feature.
Well, apart from Island and yowhatsapp, any other recommendation?
I recommend to use island due to it uses the stock app
I'm using GBWhatsApp for a week now. Very stable, low battery consumption. It's a solution, a pity that the native twinn app works so badly.
Hello,
I have the same issue on P10 Lite, whatsapp drains battery and grow storage if wifi / data are off...
Any new solutions? Or you think we must wait for the next firmware upgrade?

So, recently, my battery life has gone to ****...mostly due to Android OS. I'm running MonsterRom 1.2. I just SBF'd the phone clean yesterday and restored apps via MyBackUp Root and TB. I made sure not to use a hand backup because I figured that would restore system settings causing the issue to re-surface. Any help would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I understand that this isn't a drained battery, but the volume of use remains proportional when the phone is nearly dead.

Me too
I've also had a similar problem on both copies of the droid 3 I own. Can't seem to find the answer. Anyone had any luck out there?
Looking into it further
There is a great thread here.
I installed betterbatterystats and turned off syncing for instant upload and Google Docs to see if that would help. Also, com.motorola.blur.service.sync.engine.wakelock.task seems to be a possible culprit on the wakelock side of things. It would be nice if we could put this problem to bed. Besides this and not being able to receive SMS with images in it (I think it's something to do with my provider, Koodo), I love this phone.
Assuming that the phone is rooted, download a app called battery calibration from the market, charge your battery to 100 percent or 4200mah,give the app root access and tap calibrate. You should be good. When changing roms it is important to calibrate your battery. Also you can do the same thing by booting to cwm recovery and erasing battery stats.

Possible progress here
Removing the calendar widget, docs sync, facebook sync and instant update seem to have made a significant improvement over the last couple of hours. I will update as I get more data.
I should note that I'm on .890, I have rooted and debloated except for blur (I want the calendar app unless someone else can suggest a better one), motoprint and task manager.
Hey all,
Droid 3 using Minimoto 1.7 (Safestrap install) here. I've been using the phone as normal for almost a year before this happened -

Can anyone help me figure out what this "streaming media" app is? I was using the internet as normal one day and suddenly I noticed it had gulped 100MB in a very short time. At that point I thought it might have been the Youtube app (which Advanced Task Killer reported was running in the background) streaming crap so I deinstalled the app (also turned off 'allow apps from unknown sources'), rebooted the phone, and very carefully browsed for a bit while checking the data usage frequently. Suddenly it had taken another 130 MB.
I only have 500MB per month which is my only non-work internet access and I watch it like a hawk. This "thing" has now eaten half of that. Extremely annoyed!
Right now the only thing I have installed that might be considered "streaming media" is Soundcloud, which I haven't even run in a couple months. I'm getting worried about malware, etc. as I have no idea what this is nor what it's doing. I've never seen that show up in the data logger before. BTW the data logging app is My Data Manager but I have confirmed the extra data use appears on my bill, i.e. it is 'real' data and not just a bug in the app. I have "auto update apps" turned off in the Play Store and the "system updates" screen comes up blank (didn't think Minimoto would 'pull in' updates anyway?)
Also, I put my SIM card back in my old phone (HTC Dream running Android 1.5) and it works just as it always did with no unexplained data. At this point I don't want to get the Droid online at all for fear that it would gobble up the rest of my data and go over. (I thought of running something like Avast or Malwarebytes but it seems they are only legitimately available from the play store which means the phone must be online - argh!)
Any help appreciated - thanks in advance!
Hey guys,
I received the Lollipop 5.1 OTA last week and upgraded from 5.0. Since then, my phone has been regularly getting very warm to the touch, much hotter than it ever has. I installed GSam to regulate the temp and it's typically around 112-113 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm not sure what temp it ran at before, but was definitely cooler as it was never noticeable.
I also noticed that the Contacts app is really slow. It takes a while to load. I believe this may also be affecting the Phone app and [Google] Messenger app. They seem to be running slowly as well. Between the heat and the slow apps, it is eating my battery up quickly. I'm getting closer to half a day of life, whereas before it was closer to a full day. Android Core Apps is eating up a good portion of the battery and is typically towards the top of the list. Previously, Screen & Android OS were the biggest culprits.
I tried to do some research on this issue and although I couldn't find too much information, I did read that this could be related to having too many "Google Contacts" and the phone is always trying to sync. I'm not sure if this is an issue newly introduced in 5.1, but I never had problems before. I do have a lot of contacts, as my company runs on Google Apps and I have all of my personal contacts stored in Google Contacts.
I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to rectify these problems. I've cleared the phone's Cache through recovery and cleared the Cache of the Contacts app. I realize that a hard reset may be my best option, but I'd rather not lose all of my progress in AdVenture Capitalist!
Thanks, guys. Looking forward to thoughts.
Here's some screenshots of battery info. Android Core Apps is killing my batt.

Hi All
This weekend I installed parallel Whatsapp for my second number. I have a private number and work number so I need two Whatsapps.
Since I cloned whatsapp, I get "Communication error 16" when using Android Auto.

The problem is similar to one they had a couple of years ago on the Oneplus 3. There's a thread about it on their forum. If I remove parallel Whatsapp, AA functions normally again.
Anybody who knows about any fixes or workarounds for this? On the Oneplus forum it seems that the problem was solved by an update of the ROM so I'm afraid that this might not be an easy one.
Try using GBWhatsapp (or similar Whatsapp clone) as an alternative to parallel Whatsapp for your second account (phone number).
Thanks @mNiosu, that looks like a great workaround.
I did find a better solution however. When installing parallel apps, the Mi 9 asks to clone the "Google services framework". Because I needed Whatsapp on my work number as well, I took the plunge and recreated the parallel app, this time without cloning the Google Services Framework.
Android Auto now works flawlessly. A really simple solution but you have to know it of course.
Pls help
@ljo13
Hey. Super. I have the same problem.

Mave u can make a short video or a detailed description. I would appreciate a lot.
Thx

Hi everyone
I have a weird problem, when I'm using my phone and let's say on Instagram sometimes when i refresh the feed it's just doesn't.. i doesn't say you don't have internet connection it just won't load the new posts and keeps the loading indicator rotating
Another app is Spotify when it's randomly playing songs that haven't being played before (not cached) it's stops suddenly of loading the next song and resumes after a couple of minutes
Same problem with tinder not loading the incoming messages
Only can be solved by disconnecting and reconnecting WIFI or using cellular data
My phone is fully stock with the least official update
I've checked:
Background restrictions.
When Spotify or Instagram stuck I swhich to another app say YouTube and it's perfectly working and loading, going back to Instagram and it's still stuck and not loading.
WiFi router is not far away from me so the Signal is strong.
Do you have any idea how can I solve this without resetting the phone ?
Thanks
Did it start with csd1 update?
Thanks for the reply
I actually don't remember but here's the version I'm on now
Current version: N960FXXS2CSBA/N960FOXM2CSA2/N960FXXU2CRLT
Having same issue. One UI. Has been an issue since latest update.

In Android Pie v9.0 in app settings you can turn off battery optimization and it should prevent the app from being put to sleep. Maybe this may help. Or if wifi data saver is turned on this can cause issues also. There is one other menu/screen that allows you to change settings of when/why/which apps and how they are controlled by Android to save power and allows apps to be put to sleep after a certain amount of app unused time, or when it predicts that you are not normally using a particular app at a particular time. I cant seem to recall where I saw it or how I got to it but if I track it down I'll be sure to post the info because I think it may be a likely cause or fix for your issue. Only other thing I could figure it could be the modem firmware that your on is buggy and hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.

Here is what I was looking for. You go to settings>device care>tap on battery>tap three dots top right>tap settings. In there is some stuff that may help with your issue.
Thanks for the reply, I've actually already done that I've disabled all the settings related with putting apps to sleep at device care/battery which doesn't solve the issue
Yet i still have to try un-optimizing the apps surly this would lead to battery drain but let's see what happens.
I'll keep you updated with the results
So I have disabled all of power efficiency related settings in device care/battery section
And also disabled doze optimization for the effected
İ can say it's a lot better now but the issue still occurs
