I have the new model (austin) and when I turn it on, it has this piano sound that plays out of the speaker. It seems to be in the bootloader though. I do not want to turn on my device and hear this piano sound...
EDIT - I just solved my own question...
And how exactly, if I may ask, did you solve the problem? Because it sounds like you would be able to help me since I'm looking for a way to change the boot sequence 'Amazon' logo to something different in a 6th generation Fire HD 8. Thx in advance!

Amazon boot logo cannot be changed as it's imbedded into the locked bootloader/kernel.

My Tilt was working fine while I was listening to music over my bluetooth headset. Suddenly the display went black and I am not able to get it back. I cant even see the startup screen with the AT&T logo. The phone is working perfectly fine and I am able to play music, send and receive call and connect it to my PC and see the display on my computer through MyMobiler. One thing I noticed is that I can see very very feeble display on my screen without any colors. I ordered a replacement screen and placed it on my own but still the same behavior. I cant go to AT&T as it got an unlocked phone and have voided the warranty since I opened it to replace the screen.
Any help or guidance from experts of this forums would be really appreciated.

You probably tried this already, but just incase....but did you try to turn up the backlight setting (Settings->System->Backlight) and see if that made any difference?

I tried it already but it dint help. Also the display setting take effect only once yo phone has crossed the startup screen. Dont know why I am not getting any display even on the very first startup screen.

Me and another guy are going through the same thing. So far, no answer has been found to our problem. I also bought this phone thinking all it needed was a new screen, come to find out after I replaced it that it was doing the same thing. It seems like this problem only effects a very small percentage of Kaiser users.

Coming from an old instinct sprint phone, I used to love setting custom ringtone song clips as my text ringer, and when they'd come in i'd just hit the side button to silence it. Now, on the Android I can't seem to do that? Is there any work around for this? It allows me to silence a call coming in, but not for a text message. Thanks for anyone's help!!
It should silence text as well, mine does.

Hmm...you know...when i first got the phone i was pretty sure i did it when i tested ringtones. Quick question though...I flashed to Cynagen's rom bout a month ago, 1.6 firmware. does that have anything to do w/ it?

Lol ya i do that already, but for example when i'm holding my son's hand through the toy isle (we've all been through something similiar!) i can't turn my screen on and do that, i'd simply like to hit that side volume button to shut it up. Any programs or tweaks that can help solve this?

im not really sure no more but i think mine silenced it with he back button even if the screen was off or maybe it was the side button but i cant try no more since my phone is dead now but try it not really sure
Change the mp3 used as a ring tone, maybe that will fix it? Puzzled myself.. good luck

the format of my ringtone is .mp3, i've tried .wav also and both do the same. do you think maybe another file extension would fix it?
put a stock ringtone on it and when it rings try to silence it and if it doesnt i guess its just android i dunooo im confused haha

T-Mobile is offering the myTouch3G for 99.99 without rebates. Only requires 2 years agreement on Even More plans or 399.99 on EvenMore Plus plans (Probably not the best deal but if you want one brand spanking new). Might wana try this if you dont care about a physical keyboard, pretty sure Cyanogen works with it.. Valid on Black, Merlot or White

Hey guys, my problem is quiet a crazy because, it was running normaly under Gingerbread. 2.3.6 firemware, but it starts acting crazy because, it turn off and after that when i tried to turn it on it blocked in the logo Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and turn off and turn on again and it s blocked in the logo, so i flashed it with odin, with the same firemware that i use in case like that, and it s worked the most of the time, but now, it s not, So guys what you think i can do, i really need your help. and thank.

Hello. I'm experiencing the same issue, which I detailed a lot here. So far, not a single answer. But the more I Google, the more I find people with the same issue, but still, a bit rare...

Additional symptoms before this unusable state: after a phone call, when removing the phone from your ear, screen stays black. You have to press any button you can to finally switch the screen on again.

If you read my post, you'll see that I can use the phone as long as it's plugged to a power source...

The easiest way is to purchase a factory cable or make your own(a $15 purchase or a little bit of your time is better than a bricked device).

Hi All,
I've upgrade my JY old unit with a new SOM 5.1.1 , before upgrade car I also update MCU.img to the lastest version and in works.
At the first start, a dancing droids start for a two minutes more or less, and after everything goes black. Some buttons sound, and when I press volume a ODS appear with the volume, but nothing more.
I don't know how to unbrick it.
Anyone could give me a clue? Thanks!!!
Some additional questions. The salesman give to me an mcu.img but it think it is for KDL6. What whappend if I flash that mcu.img, could flash before an JY mcu.img or I can brick it?
Could be the problem the resolution?
