[Q] SGS using Hybrid final

Ladies & gentleman,
you might know the awesome ROM Hybrid 5.0?!
I flashed it and it works great, well done.
Unfortunately there are two things i would like to ask. (i would have asked in the dev, but haven't the 10 necessary posts...)
1. Swype is great and if you are used to use it you don't want to miss it. There is no possibility to set up german language for using swype. The whole ROM is german, but swype isn't.
--> is there any possibility to install a german pack or sth. like this?
2. The phonebook data is still saved with Kies (.spb data). Usually i would connect to Kies and save the contacts on the phone, but my pc doesn't want to connect to the phone. Updating the driver was successfull, but doesn't solve the problem.
--> is there any possibility to get the data to the phone?

Hi there,
for your first problem you have to install swype's german pack but I'm sorry to tell you that there is no such a thing yet, maybe with their new version beta 3.5, who knows!
but I think I have a solution for you, try Touch Pal Keyboard, it has swype capabilities rivaling that of swype and much much more options that it makes you addicted to it!
your second problem -looooooool- if you wanted to be able to use samsung kies and AllShare and kies air and all that nice programms from samsung, you shouldn't have rooted your phone and installed Hybrid 5, shouldv'e sstayed on stock rom which is in my opinion the best rom for SGS (Reliable, Fast and NO POWER Drain Problems).

Galaxy note boot up is driving me nuts!!

So I was on iMilkas rom for a bit. I decided that I really needed Skype and netflix to work so I went back to stock for a bit while I decided what to do. Everything went back fine. However whenever I reboot my phone it plays a tune over and over for about let's say, 6 MINUTES!!! It loops over and over and over. I go into my sounds and my default ringer is set properly and my notification sound is set. (neither is this annoying tune btw). Any ideas why this phone keeps doing it. Also I swear it gets a little longer with every reboot.
version: 2.3.6
baseband: DDLB1
kernel: DDLB2
oh and the song it repeats over and over is the one of the defaults: "Over the Horizon"

Does sound like a funny bug. I swear I heard something similar a month or so ago and a reflash of the rom solved it. Someone may be able to determine the exact problem for you though

Symptoms of improper flashing mate.Try factory reset if it doesnt work try to reflash the rom again

hard reset it or flash it again

Man I was hoping that wouldn't be the best solution although in the back of my head I think it is. Considering this, I might just downgrade again and re-enable root so I can restore with TB. Since this is where I'm heading I guess i'll spend the rest of my time in the developer forum finding the most suitable rom to jump on board with. Any suggestions from people on GB roms? ( I can't go to ics as I need Skype to work for "work".

Best rom to go with is rocketrom v22 its a gb rom and you can get the ics look with a matching theme put franco kernel 9 and you are ready to roll into awesomeness!!
rocket rom comes in miui theme by default but in the opening post of the rom u will find a perfect ics theme to go with!!
the best combo is rocket rom plus ics theme plus franco kernel

I've seen similar problems mentioned with early versons of SuperSU.
have you updated to this recently?
some were able to resolve the issue by disabling the notification toasts, and/or granting SU access as default.

I installed MIDNOTE 2.0 yesterday and I must say that it is a flawless ICS rom. I dont have any problems at all!!!

Anyone facing issues with random auto restart while using this Rom
I need a solution for this..

It worked fine for me, however I never got the google sync to work. You should make sure that no scripts are installed and check your performance settings. (Smartav2 with max 806 and min 245 are most stable settings)

Yes, I came to know about the google sync issues by reading the development forum for this rom. I am ok with that part as its not a full version rom..
but I cant understand why it keeps auto restarting my phone?? really annoying on such an awesome rom.
And ya, wish you could explain how to make sure no scripts are installed....

Known bug if you have apps installed on SD Card. Just wait for the final release because the MIUI is currently on RC2 meaning it still has bugs. It's currently functional and beautiful now. You just have to cope up to the small bugs you encounter.

MIUI launcher eat too much ram, go to option-launcher setting untick high quality grapics and icon shadow for better performance. if you use darktremor try to move data to sd, i've using for 3 days and never had random reboot.

Well I don't get that prob but restart is because the ace is out of memory....(RAM)
My prob is that I can't ecept calls only call other pepz com.android.phone crashes
I've tried
wiping data,bat,delvik,cach
Flashing gb from odin then flash miui
installing other phone apk's from other cm7's (flashing it from recovery)
chansing to all the baseband's possbile (including ddkq8)
PLEZ HELP ME!!!!!!!

have you changed the pixel density? dont know about this rom, but is a known issue on some others, it simply cause the phone app to force close...

yess.....this rom so wonderfull....
but here's my problem...
- I can't browsing with stock browser or any browser app. It always say : "Unauthorized request. Please check your APN."
but any other app with network connection like playstore etc work very well......
any solution guys??????

2 what should I chanse it if tried 120dpi and ofcorce stock 160

Some glitches
Luv the visuals in this ROM
Bt there are a few glitches as well and maybe i think the dev must be currently working on that too..
Here are some of them:
There is a major lag time when u rotate the phone (auto-rotate time is quite large)
Many a times when trying to remove SD..phone restarts
Custom themes have problem on the lockscreens (full view is not visible)
Bootanimation doesnt change at all...
The best thing i like about this ROM is that u can select as many no. of recipients for sending messages..a huge like
And several of other ROMs have that smiley in place of [Enter] button..but this one is perfect
Though i wud like the dev to add the feature of replying to contacts directly from call log
Anyways, hats off to the dev for building a gud ROM!!

Try reflashing because if u correctly follow the instructions it must work...
otherwise i think the ROM doesnt support ur handset (yes it is galaxy ace but the country make is also important)

Can the messaging app of this ROM be used in other CM7.2 ROMs as well??
Coz i successfully used music and compass of miui in Miracle v4 but when i try using mms.apk of this into that..it force closes..
Plz tell me a way to do that (if there is any) coz i luv the messaging thing of this ROM

i had this Rom and it never reset my phone bit it did freeze alot so i am back on stock Rom now iv had nothing but trouble flashing custom roms so iv decided to stick to original firmware it works for me

Strange problem with keyboard

Hello everyone.
I have strange problem with keyboard (swype and built-in). I have stock rooted firmware with franco kernel r6 (but before changing kernel and rooting this problem also appears).
So my problem is: sometimes (not regulalry) keyboard is not responding (swype keyboard is not showing, and built-in is showing but not responding to any touch). Keyboard is responding normalny after rebooting phone. Switching keyboard mode not helping.
Any ideas what is cousing this problem, how to repair this issue??

Hi sq4ind,
i would recommend you, to flash a CustomROM like CM9 or whatever.
If you don't want to do this, try to flash your current ROM again / save your data and do a factory reset

same problem over here with an all original Note,
so no custom or anything like that.
After restart it's fine....... 'till it happens again....;-(
Maybe a flaw in Icecream ???
.... today the same bug again, i rebooted and turned
off Swype. Works fine from 10am till 21 pm....
I noticed that the battery went empty real fast and
that my phone was real hot this morning and that
while i had nothing running....
I just turned off Google Speach Typing (or how is it
called in english???) and turned on Swype again.
Let you know my findings tomorrow.

[Q] Problem in alarm

Hi guys I'm always installing cm11 roms from novafusion.pl site and all thing working good but one thing that I have problem in it , it's alarm
It never ever working but few times
sometimes when I set it it doesn't ring and sometimes it closes itself sometimes after time I set it to ring it doesn't ring but when I unlock screen it's ring
So it's very big problem in all custom roms for our devices from novafusion and maclaw team
I trired all solutions like remove lockclock and deskclock app and install new alarm applications from play store but without any useful
what can I do I didn't like stock rom for our device 4.1.2
sorry for my weaknes language

I had exactly the same problems with various novafusion ROMs. In the end, the only solution for me was to stop using their ROMs (which is a shame, because there is not a lot of choice for us i8190 owners). I'm now trying Android Andi's "slimKat", Vanir's ROM and various others, but now I get lots of problems with bluetooth. If I can't get a suitable custom ROM working well enough for me, I will have to go back to stock...

Finally someone replied to me
yes man it's very hard when used kitkat roms for a while and enjoyed about all thing relate to it like faster , light and customization
so it's not easy return to silly stock rom 4.1.2

Yes, I agree, I _is_ difficult to go back to 4.1.2 after playing with various 4.4.* Roms. My problem is that I need to use my phone for work, so an alarm clock not working properly is not acceptable (I'd lose my job!) I'm amazed that there never appears to be any bug-tracking or improvement with the novafusion roms - new roms appear, but they have exactly the same bugs as those Roms from years ago, or sometimes worse!

after almost every flashing i also have alarm issue but only first morning.
now i always do a clean install wipe everything, install first twrp, set time zone and than flash update. i reboot some times and so i have no alarm issue.
