Most violent bug ever - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, I'll try to be as clear as possible. Yesterday, I updated one of my OnePlus 3T to Beta 8 and Gmail completely broke. Everytime I launched it, it got stuck at a white screen then force closed. I've tried everything, perform a Factory Reset, wiped the whole phone (even the OS), used Paranoid Android and Resurrection Remix latest builds with the exact same issue. What could have caused such trouble? Here's a list of what I tried:
Reset Gmail and Google Play Services cache.
Uninstalled Gmail updates.
Uninstalled Gmail with Titanium Backup.
Installed the app from the Play Store.
Wiped cache on Recovery.
Performed a Factory Reset.
Wiped internal memory and OS on TWRP.
Installed Beta 7
Factory Reset
Installed Beta 8
Factory Reset
Installed PA with suggested GAPPS package
Factory reset
Installed Beta 8
Factory Reset
Installed Resurrection Remix
Factory reset
Installed Beta 8
Every time I installed an OS, I started setup and tested Gmail. It crashed every single time.
All other apps work flawlessly. Gmail won't work and the OP3T I'm using has Gmail working flawlessly...
Any ideas?

"violent"?

Yep.... Violent haha. Well, I couldn't fix it after all I've done. Stubborn might be the right word. Any suggestion?

Follow the complete unbrick tutorial and reset your phone to factory settings. I used to have issues when I updated to Beta 8. Text messages didn't work. I did a hard reset and followed the unbrick guide to restore my phone to factory settings and then updated it. Everything is smooth as butter.

[Q] teamhacksung ICS build 8 market issues

Posting here because I can't post on the dev thread being a newbie and all. I've installed [ROM][ICS][ITL41D] teamhacksung's ICS Port for Galaxy S (BUILD 8) and for the most part it's working great! Really love the changes in ICS over GB.
I had CM7.1 installed, I did a data wipe/factory restore, cleared cache and even cleared dalvik cache, installed ICS and then installed Gapps 5.1.
I have two major issues with Market:
1) When on the Market website it shows a bunch of apps in the INSTALLED state to my phone but due to the wipe they are not installed.
2) When I click install on an app from the website it says "This app will be downloaded to your device shortly." but then I never see it on my device.
I CAN install apps via Market from the phone though with no issues.
I've restarted, verified internet connection, etc. I even tried reinstalling Gapps.
Any ideas?
I know there have been times mine would not download anything after I used the website until I went on my phone and downloaded something else, then it like "wakes up" and downloads what I sent through the website. Have you tried that? Also, you are making sure you Ars logged into the same google account on the website as your phone, right?
Sent from my ice creamed Captivate
Yeah I've been able to successfully download from the phone... still nothing on the site. And yes, same google account as on the phone - if I initiate a download/purchase from the website it does show up on the phone market app under the not installed portion of My Apps...
I've also tried with Wi-Fi enabled/disabled, tried switching to airplane mode and back... still no go.
SOLVED!
Pain in the ass though. Did factory reset/data wipe from within ICS, including formatting the SD card. Reinstalled CM7, booted, booted into recovery, then wiped cache/factory reset, reinstalled ICS then booted, booted into recovery, installed Google Apps and it seems to be working. Still shows up on Market website as "Installed" but allows me to select the phone and it does sent the push install.
Must have been some data setting that was preventing it. Oh well, good to start with a fresh phone once in a while

CyanogenMod 9 - Home Button & Lock Screen

[SOLVED]
Sorry I keep posting things to myself and solving it on my own after hours -__-.. I already struggled hours beforehand and was frustrated..
Anyways, I went to CMW recovery mod, deleted the back up that I backed earlier. And then format/reset to factory mod / wipe partition / cache / Dalv. Then I went to boot my device but after 10 minutes, it'd still be loading cyanogen.... so I reinstalled the CyanogenMod9. Wiped all the things I mentioned above again and when it loaded to OS, it worked..
I have no idea what was causing it.. probably the back up file interfering somehow? Because that's the only thing I got rid of and everything went back to normal.

Hey guys, I successfully installed CyanogenMod 9 on my Gingerbread 2.3.5.
Everything is great and slick. I used to use CyanogenMod 7.
Funny thing is, I enabled the lock screen (pattern) and it seems to be not working? I don't know if I'm missing something but after leaving my phone for good 20 minutes, I came back to turn on (from sleep) and it wasn't asking for lock screen pattern. I tried slide too, same.
Also, from my previous versions, whenever I was in setting or any app, if I were to press on Home Button it would bring my back to main screen. My Home button no longer does this. I have no idea what it does now, I press it and the phone vibrates (indicates that its been pressed) but no effect. I have to literately press Back like 5 times just to return to Main menu.
Is there something I'm suppose to enable or something?
Let me know, thank you

lol, hate when that happens
Hey danroh,
I had same issue with home button and lockscreen and this steps fixed problem:
1) I accidentally downloaded Jelly Bean gapps instead of ICS version
2) Reinstalled CM9
3) Downloaded experimental build and flashed that over stable one
4) Flashed with proper ICS gapps
5) Factory reset/Data wipe, Clear Dalvik cache
6) Reboot
-----
Hit thanks if that worked for you

Weirdly, my brother's Galaxy S had the same thing. Home button just would not work after installing CM9. Tried a few things, failed.
Then, I found this thread and I remembered that I'd backed up his old CM7 a while before. Deleted that backup in CWM Recovery, factory wiped/cache wipe, reinstalled CM9 and Gapps for 9 and boom, everything was fine.
EDIT:
Another thing to note is that when the home button wouldn't work, there was no Lockscreen either, just like you had. On first boot it didn't prompt me for a google account either, which it did do after I deleted the backup.

[Q] CM11 bug?

I had CM 10.2 installed on EMMC and I updated to verygreen's CM 11 from the development forum. I performed an update vice a clean install, but I did clean davlik, but other than that I didn't reset anything.
I activated developer options the normal way with no issues once in CM 11, but when I click on developer options in settings, the settings app crashes. I performed a factory reset, cleared all cache, and it worked fine. Then I did a full restore from backup and now when I try to access developer options it crashes again.
I have since updated to the nightlies a couple of times, but there's no change after each update.
Has anyone else had this issue? I searched and couldn't find anyone else that had this issue. Any ideas?
Do a fresh install, those are still nightlys and sometimes **** like this happens.
I had a time where Trebuchet crashed everytime I opened the drawer.

Yea, that's what I ended up doing. Did a fresh install after wiping everything and now it works great.

Can't sign in after factory reset

I had an issue after an update, so I factory reset. I go to sign in, and the phone says "This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device" and get a toast saying "please sign in using one of the owner's accounts for this device" I am using the same account I have used since I bought this phone. Any ideas?
Did you recently change your Google password?
Sent from my Nexus 6 running cyosp using Tapatalk
Yes, however before I did, I had the same error. I only changed it after logging into my google account after numerous failed attempts, and had to change it due to suspicious activity.
Then unfortunately you have to wait 72 hours before you can set up your phone.
I was able to work around whatever issue caused this!
1) Full wipe
2) Flash a rom (no gapps)
3) boot phone
4) flash gapps
5) sign in
This resulted in setup wizard force close, so I
6) remove google account
7) factory reset in recovery
8) Add account
All is good now, except it didn't give me an option to restore. Oh well, at least I have a working phone again.
Yes, this works, and in three days you'll be able to set it up.

I was running a custom ROM, installed a few layers which accidentally caused a bootloop. So like I've done countless times I booted into recovery and wiped, only to be greeted by the same toast you got. I had no idea there was a 72 hour lockout as I changed my password a day ago. This information was tremendously helpful. Thank you very much!

Error no connection"

I can't install or update google play or and other app on my freshly reflashed S3 mini. I get "error no connection" when I try.
It happens on clean fresh firmware and also happened on last stock firmware. I've tried to clean app data and cache and also clean Dalvik but nothing has solved the problem.
Any idea how to solve it?
Try to use the principle of action based on this thread:
[STOCK ROM][NO ROOT][Android 4] Correct login to Google account after phone reset
