How do I find my original Android ID? I'm currently running Cog2.3B6, but have a backup of my stock JH7 (1010 device) via rom manager. Is this ID something I should hang on to?

Flash back to stock, download Android ID changer in the market. Get your ID and write it down.

Anytime. Keep the Android ID changer as some ROMs may change your Android ID and it can theoretically cause problems with the market.
Could someone post the apk please? My market is having issues connecting on anything stock, and I'm wondering if this may help.

Thank you! I'll be posting an update to see if this resolves my connectivity issue.
*edit* did not. I was unable to get it to change anything even though I had busy box and root, it said permissions were incorrect. I flashed Cog and it works now lol.

I did the exact same thing, I went a bit OTT while having a tidy up and soon paid the price for it.
Your best shot is to try one of the many recovery software tools, I used this but didn't have a lot of success with it.
Good luck
Hello,
After sadly never being able to get the NB4 update for my note 3, I was wondering if anyone could send me there update files? (if its possible to update via recovery like that?) If anyone else has any other ideas on how to get my note 3 updated it would be nice (im on MJ5, not rooted).

downloading it now. I tried to check ota on NB4 but I keep getting software update interrupted. Hopefully I won't have to keep on relying on others to post the update files in the future. Thanks for the help, wish you would have responded to my first thread on this issue a month ago, but it looks like those update files were recently uploaded.

A little off topic, but I used kingo in the past for rooting, does it still steal our devices imei number? As I find conflicting answers in every thread I go to.

Best Buy (Samsung) doesn't have the KitKat files yet. I went to my local BB store and they told me that didn't have the official file yet. Also, AT&T will not flash your phone either. I tried that one, too.
Has to be a att service center and both can re flash NB4 for you if you flashed the kk leak you need to do the mj5 restore first then go see them

My best buy Samsung store must be behind times. The guy there couldn't do it. It appears they use kies. And our phone can't be initialized with kies anymore.

Looking to keep my 4.4 Note 3 identical to how it is now (apps, root, etc) but no longer want SafeStrap. Is there an easy and safe way to remove this without a lot of hoops?
Thanks

I always uninstall it from inside the app, then uninstall the app. Haven't had any problems and easy to install back if I need it. If you don't see the app, when install it and go from there.
Sorry what does your last sentence mean? I dont see the app when inside the OS but perhaps on boot I need to go in to make changes? THanks

Missed spelled. Install Safestrap (so you can see the app) then uninstall it from inside the app, then uninstall Safestrap app.
So I should download the apk and install it again? Doing this is just so I can get into the app, and inside will be an option to uninstall? Am I understanding this correctly?
Thanks

I have a SM-N9200, which is a China (inc. Hongkong) variety. In order to get Google Play, which is not available in the Chinese version, I flashed the Hong Kong version. But I have no cell signal after flash. Both roms (Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong) are designed for the same model, it should work. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks in advance.

You should check your APN settings and either select the correct one (if it's there) or create another one. Tap settings, Mobile networks and then Access Point Names.

It's unlikely to be a APN problem, because there is not any signal at all.

My bad I didn't think you meant it like that.. In any case I would suggest you flash back to your other stock ROM and is there some reason you can't just install the .apk files needed to run the play store?

Installing those files manually can't set off the Knox counter to my knowledge.

I didn't say to root it you said in your first post that you flashed the Hong Kong version or something so I said to go back to what you were on when you bought the phone and then use Google search for the apks and install them... Nothing root needed here.

There's a way to get it in there on your version but I really don't have time to get into all that but you're not bootloader locked so you should be able to figure this out pretty easily with a few searches.
