Hi Everyone,
I want to make the stock kernel for SM-N910T2 SEAndroid permissive as well as add DT2W (double-tap to wake). I've tried to follow guides / vids to no avail, so I'm hoping someone in the community can help me with this.
Firmware: https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N910T2/
Source: http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=N910T2
I'd eventually like to learn how to cook ROMs / develop for Android as well, so it would be fantastic if someone could point me in the right direction!
Thanks!!!!
there's a selinux permissive toggler u can download if you look for it. as far as dt2w idk

Desperate for proper cifs support, I tried out the STOCK PLUS rom from the forum but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support unicode characters (I assume the dev hasn't included nls_utf8.ko).
So what I'll do is to compile cifs.ko, nls_utf8.ko, md4.ko myself for the newest build of Ouya firmware that I can obtain, and share them here with people.
However since I'm a noob on this I need somebody to first give me a direction on how to compile the kernel modules. I've searched online but there doesn't seem to be a good tutorial anywhere. Apparently for many people it should be a piece-of-cake task though. If someone does respond and teache me the instructions then I'll do all the manual work and compile these things.
Hopefully eventually this post would be helpful for other people as well - I might compile other modules on demand and share here if I learn how in the end.
EDIT:
OK, apparently you'd need to configure the kernel and compile it with utf8 support.
1. clone this repo: https://github.com/ouya/ouya_1_1-kernel
2. follow the step-by-step kernel configuration tutorial at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2110842
3. note when you run 'make menuconfig'; remember to tick the utf8 option in the native language support section
I haven't had time to do this but theoretically it should give you the correct result.
Additional note:
Although STOCK PLUS does not support utf8 charset for smb (confirmed); it does support utf8 for nfs so you can instead do a nfs setup.

Thank you for your kernel, have been using it for a month (on my EU) and it works very well!
However, could you make some progress please...
As it is seen on this forum your work is the only one for 64bit. So, could you consider some suggestions?
Namely in their 32 verisons of modded kernels developpers write here about improving screen touch responsiveness and removing HTC's backdoor "debugging" access... How about it?

Last I touched base/read with you and RBHEROMAX, if I understood correctly, you were going to be changing something so I've been trying to remain patient and wanted to inquire about this. I picked up a Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport (sprint) all stock to entertain myself with. LOL. I have the utmost respect for you and Rbheromax, I'd like to thank you again for your dedication and time put into this project and the respect and patience you give to everyone that asks you questions on any level. You are very special individuals giving the gift of knowledge to all that seek it.
All that came together to make the 64 bit HTC Desire 510 project. All that came to the rescue to make THEDREAMER possible. You are pioneers and not afraid of a challenge. I don't know if you have any sort of recognition for everyone that takes the time and puts fourth the effort to share the GIFT OF KNOWLEDGE. If not, I'd like to declare Tuesday, March 31, 2015 programmers appreciation day! And you both deserve the GOLDEN THUMBS UP AWARD just because I appreciate your patience, and you caring enough to share knowledge with individuals that otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to delve into this field.
THANK YOU!
Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules by speaking up. But I. Believe it's time for some recognition with a simple shout out saying THANKS, YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE.
paying it forward....
:highfive:
Should the kernel name be "3.10.28-g36bd0f8-dirty (root @ speedstarlap)" after installing?
I'm trying to enable S2W and can't seem to get it working, was wondering if the kernel installed right, or if there were other versions - you said you have MSM8919, whereas my 510 shows up as MSM8916- a typo or actually different chips? (if possible, could you please tell me how to enable S2W if the kernel installed right?)
@edit - Managed to get it... "working" - if I lock the screen and swipe to right and left near the menu buttons within 2-3 seconds from locking, it works. otherwise it doesn't. D2W is fully dead though. I'll poke around it a bit more and see if I can get it to work properly...
Hi, which gcc are u using? and how to compile the dt.img?
I compiled a kernel for D820, only with stock dt.img could bootup. It boots into bootloader if I use the dt.img which I compiled from stock kernel source.
could u help me?
Kernel works great and great improvement in speeds! Thanks
I've a problem. Sometimes the touchscreen doesn't react after waking up my phone. But the volume up and down and the power button work.
Can this be because of the kernel? I don't know. Please help.

Hi,
So I've taken up the task to make a new kernel for Moto G 2014.
So if somebody could help me out in giving me different mods and tweaks ( BTW I'm still new at this).
Progress:
Updated Cyanogenmod Kernel msm8226 to Linux 3.4.110
Added a couple of new governers.
(I don't know how to 'change?' I/O shedulers).
Oh yeah if you are going to help me then please tell me how to add that feature to the kernel source(Just the terminal commands or link me to the page which tells me how to do it. Like I said I'm a newbie at this)
If somebody could help me out I'd be really grateful.
Hi T-mobile users,
These stock based kernels are normally included inside the Noble roms, but I have decided to share them apart from the rom with you.
Features:
- AOD support
- Based on latest G920F source
- Latest Linux patch (3.10.105)
- Permissive mode
- Safetynet bypass
- Some other minor tweaks to increase your experience

Bugs
None, it is basically stock.
FAQ
Q: I cant bypass Safetynet
A: You should figure out how to do it yourself, there are plenty of instructions across XDA. For example the "ro.build.fingerprint" should match your device and you need to enable magisk hide + hide the SystemUI
Q: AOD is not working
A: Blame your rom maker

Maybe I misunderstand, but from the plenty of instructions across XDA, it appears that it's actually not possible to do this with the 920T because there are no stock build.props for nougat yet. At least I couldn't find any ro.build.fingerprint line for the 920T.

Try the safetynet bypass fix from the Gold Eagle Rom.
Working perfectly on my S6 edge thanks @Noxxxious
Will the battery life be better with root on stock rom?

I have ported Oreo for Mi mix , wifi working , sound , bluetooth , camera , nfc , android pay but i keep getting com.android.phone error and don´t know how to fix it. Yes im noob and i have learnt to compile using xda guides and youtube tutorials so please dont be too hard with me i beg you . Thanks for the help . I´ll give donations to helpers.
Hi @YazumiWuHung,
sorry with that little information it's somewhat impossible to assist you :_/
I'd like to advice the 2 things as followed:
- head over to the ROMs section (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix/development) and post your question and if possible an downloas/test possibility there
- create at least an log of the error in the timeslot it apperars -> HowTo: https://developer.android.com/studio/command-line/logcat.html
Good luck!
Could be any (but not limited to) of the following:
- permission/folder issues in ramdisk (for example for the modem part)
- missing/incorrect config xmls in overlay (framework, or Phone package)
- missing/incorrect parameters in *props
As suggested by raupe, a logcat could point in the right direction.
willing to test for you if you want that..
thanks for your efforts to bring oreo to us!
Found Nazmul hasan on Androidfilehost.
He has worked on mi mix Oreo.

He might help you.
All the credits goes to respective developers.
I have not tried the rom yet so don't ask me what's working or not.
