Not showing baterry level correctly - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi,
As the title say. My phone it does not show battery level correctly.
Could be software issue or hardware?

Are you flashing often new Roms?

It's official ROM, never changed it.

Help?

where is it wrong, in the notifactionbar or in the batterysetting?

Battery not charging fully

Hi,
Off later my mobile's battery has stopped charging to 100%
It started while I was using the Paranoid Android ROM and I thought it was due to some kernel issue. However, post that I have flashed other ROMs including the stock ones but the issue remains.
I had installed Android Tuner and it showed that battery is in good health and the scale is 100%
Has someone faced similar issues? Please share solutions if any

Have you tried wiping the battery stats in recovery? Otherwise try some battery maintenance by letting it completely drain and charge again a few times over.
Hi
Yes I wipe the battery stats when flashing a Rom.. Have also tried discharging the battery completely and then charging it but no improvement..
If there is any specific tool for battery maintenance then I can give it a shot..

I had the problem earlier, drain your battery completely , take it out , after 5 mins plug it in then switch on....let it completely charge

Hmm, my only suggestion is to try yashwantpiduru a few times over. Also, until you get this sorted, try only charging it using your computer to get a slow charge. Don't "rapid" charge your phone using the AC adapter.
Other than that, you may require a new battery, even if it's reporting "100% health"

[Q] kernel (android OS)

So I noticed quite a big drain on the battery and on gsam it says that it's mostly drained by apps, not the screen, and the top 1 culprit is this kernel thing, any ideas how to remedy it, or is that completely normal?
Edit : I am completely stock on the 1.29 update

Try using Better Battery Stats to find out what it is. If i had to guess i would say msm_hsic is it or maybe a wifi wake lock. there is no fix yet for msm_hsic.
It is intact this process, thanks, do you know if custom kernels/roms have this too or not?

[BUG] Battery Bug for Stock 4.2.2

THIS BUG CAN DO HARM TO YOUR BATTERY! BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHEN THE BATTERY DRAINS!
As we all may encounter the battery bug after upgrading to .423 fw. When one restarts his phone, he has chances that the battery level of the phone rises (e.g., I turned off mine just now at 26% and turned it on showing 51%). This has been confirmed by many users in the forum, so I believe it is a firmware level bug of 4.2.2.
Is there any one willing to pay some time on fixing it? Coz this is a quite crucial bug for us, we dont know when will our phones automatically turn off! Thanks in advance
I believe its not a caliboration thing coz we also upgrade or wipe our devices before, and no such thing happened. I think its a firmware or kernel level bug. Does anyone who flashes a custom kernel also encounter the same problem?
It seems that Spanish FW is free from this bug.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43261281
plz report your rom or base FW in the reply. Thanks.
[NEW EDIT]
It seems that I fix the bug. The battery jumps when the phone restarts, so I think there is something during boot which causes the issue. I delete the XZDualRecovery, and test the phone several times, and its fine!
Deleting XZDualRecovery might be a temporary fix, so you can choose what to do
[NEW EDIT 2]
someone reports that they dont encounter the bug and believes that its the calibration thing. i declare again that i DID the calibration and the issue was still there. for me, at least, deleting XZDualRecovery fixes the bug. plz report more details in the reply, like fw, root or not, recoveries. Thank you
I don't think there is a bug here.
Never happened to me,cause i did full wipe while flashing.
Maybe it happens only for users that didn't wiped everything.

There is no kernel for 4.2.2. DoomKernel supports fw before 423. Correct me if Im wrong. Also in LB and know not much about custom kernels.

Oh, this actually happened to me once.
It also happened to me yesterday. I usually never turn off my phone, but yesterday I did it and found the battery went from 26% to 51% magically.

I have the exact same problem, went from 26% to 52% after reboot... Is this bug bad for our battery? If so, maybe I'm flashing back to 4.1.2.

hello all me too experienced the same problem but I successfully regained my battery life. Here is what I have done....
1)First I drained the battery fully until mobile gets switched off
2)Then I left the mobile to cool off for half an hour
3)After that I charged the battery upto 100%
4)Following this I switched on the Mobile and did the battery calibration by using 'Battery Calibration' app
5)Again I fully drained the battery and charged it again to 100%
Now the battery life seems good. I checked this by using WiFi whole night....battery lasted overs 12hrs
Battery Bug
Just updated my Xperia Z today with a full data wipe from 4.1 to 4.2.2 and I've experienced the same problem from 26% of battery to 52% after reboot.

Think I'm gonna try this to when I have the time. Phone just went off because the battery is dead, it was showing 14% and all of a sudden 0%.

This is exactly what I concern. I dont know when my phone is going to off, and it could be big trouble when there is no access to the charger.
Maybe we just need to recalibrate, drain battery to 0% and fully charge it to 100% while the phone is turned off.
plz give some feedback if it works

I experiencing the same issue. 2% to 55% after reboot. wow... 4.2.2 doesn't bring anything for me to consider to keep it. so back to 4.1.2 (.4.3.4)
But one thing for sure (never discharge a lithium ion / polymer battery from full to 0 they don't like it) you could do that with nickel cadmium/ metal hydride batteries ant they really thank for that if you keep doing that you just kill your battery before its due time.

Charging Problems

When I let my phone charge over night, once it reaches 100% it starts to go up and down in percentage. This started happening after root and some app freezes/ disable
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
It might be helpful to name the "some" apps you froze (the "disabled" should not matter). Apart from that: At the second half of your screenshot, the device was permanently connected to power? So it goes down as far as 94% while connected?
Yes that's when I left it on the charger throughout the night. And when you see the slight decrease near the 50% range is when I got a text.
Here are the apps I froze:
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem using jellybeer and iodak kernel v7 (but also had this problem using optimus prime)
Percentage drop is inconsistent, 92-93-96-98 %, depends on the days
Battery stat reference points are created on power unplug so it's hard to know what's draining battery...while on power, it's not easy to troubleshoot
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
So have you tried to do anything ?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I'm heaving the same problem.
Sent from my LG-P880 using Tapatalk 2
At least nothing special about the frozen/quarantined apps. It's about the same stuff I froze (except for "Smart Log Service", "SystemBackupService", and "Talkback"). What ROMs you are on? Maybe that might shed some light (I'm on stock 4.0.3, v10h, and do not have that issue).
I'm currently on stock everything
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Well, "stock everything" is not detailed enough. There have been several "v10" versions (with Android 4.0.x), and now there are also "v20" versions (Jelly Bean). You need to be a little more precise

[Help] Battery is abnormal

Anyone can help me about this problem? I"m using CM10.1.2 stable and my problem is all about the life of the battery. I full charge my droid in 100% and use it normally then from 80%, it falls to 45% without using any superb app, just common like facebook, etc...then from 30% to 15% . If anyone there can help me, please guide me to solve this problem.

Did it just start doing this? I actually noticed this happen from time to time on about every ROM I have tried, including CM10.2 which I am running now. But it's not all the time. Just a once or twice a month it seems. And it's usually happens when it hits about 40% or so, then drops like a rock to 15%. If it's happening a lot I would try booting back to stock or running a different ROM and see if it does it there as well. If so it could be an issue with the battery. You could also try installing BetterBatteryStats (it is free here on XDA) and see if that tells you anything.
thanks for the reply sir

Hi, I also get bad battery life when I'm on Cyanogenmod 10.1.3, but I got better battery life when I installed 10.2 although I also installed less apps. Have you checked BetterBatteryStats XDA edition yet? It tells you information about kernel wakelocks that could be draining your battery life and you may be able to use this info to fix problems in your phone to improve battery life. And of course when the battery meter reports 20-30% percent it will drop like a rock by 10% (I also experienced this in the Stock ROM from 4.0.4 and 4.1.2)
