Unable to Wipe, backup etc. (TWRP)

Hey Guys,
I have got a problem with my p9. I unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP and rooted my phone with the SRK-Tool. Everything seemed to work fine.
A few days later I wanted to install "fRomFuture" V3. First I wanted to backup my phone in TWRP, afterwards wipe system / data / cache and dalvik cache.
Neither was possible.
So I installed the Rom without any Wipe. And the Rom works very fine.
Now I want to update to V4.1, but it still doesn't work and I don't want to risk anything.
It would be great if someone could help me
Thanks and Sorry for my english

Downgrade from OOS 4.1.5 to 3.5.x

I am having serious battery drain on any OOS 4.x.x rom. I used to have very good battery life in 3.5.2. can anyone give me a proper step by step guide to downgrade? Battery is a huge issue for me.
i have my own steps that i found it by my self but it will earse all ur data so backup ur data to pc.
here are the steps :
1. make sure u have unlocked bootloader, custom recovery (twrp) i prefer use blu_spark twrp latest version
2. pur ur 3.5.x firmware in internal storage
3. boot to twrp recovery and do a clean wipe(dalvik, data, internal, system, cache)
4. flash ur 3.5.x firmware. it will take a long time just wait it
5. reboot to system, ull get a no os installed warning in twrp just reboot it(swipe)
6. when the devices boot up ull get a enter password for decrypt data. just reboot to bootloader
7. when u in fastboot mode connect ur devices to pc
8. use op3/op3t toolkit to flash twrp from fastboot u can find the toolkit here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/development/toolkit-oneplus-3t-toolkit-unlock-t3507729
9. then wait when it boot to twrp and when it boot up wipe data, internal storage only
10. reboot to system. done
sorry for my bad english. i hope it works
Ok that sounds easy. Reboot to recovery after flashing ROM retains the recovery I guess. Do you have any suggestion of custom kernel for 3.5.x ? Also i have the latest twrp. Will is allow me to flash 3.5?

Thank you guys. It wasn't really tough. Flashed OOS 3.5.4 full zip. Rebooted to recovery then rebooted to system. However it was bootloop at the start then I restarted and flashed SuperSU zip, it booted up. Don't know why SuperSU is required to boot up. However I am not getting the support for Magisk. I tried cleaning up SuperSU and then flashing the Magisk zip but it didn't work. Any advice ?

You have to reflash stock boot image to get Magisk to work

Is there any way to root this phone?

Please don't suggest the regular ways to root the j7 prime. I tried cf auto root as well as the supersu.zip method to root this. Twrp cant mount data. After flashed supersu.zip. it shows integrity verification and after i reset my phone in that screen. I lose supersu. What can i do to root my stock rom. Its up to date. Please any one suggest me a working method . I don't want to lose any of my data again.
before flash supersu.zip
you must be fomatdata
enjoy
Can you suggest me a recovery that mounts data? Thanks in advance

flash TWRP first via odin and if you don't know on how to use odin, there's a lot of tutorials in youtube. then after you flash the twrp flash also superSU in order to root your unit.
SuperSU is from the past, flash Magisk instead. Just make sure you have the latest version of TWRP for J7 Prime and put the magisk flashable zip in your internal storage since TWRP can't recognize Sd card yet. and BTW you DON'T need to format anything just do a backup for the sake of data safety and go on

Need to flash TWRP which will remain after reboot...

Hi All,
I am on MIUI 11.0.1 rom and have unlocked bootloader and have got Root as well. I had flashed twrp-3.3.1-2-raphael-mauronofrio recovery initially but I found that it doesn't persist after reboot and stock recovery appears. How can I make it permanent recovery option and when OTA update comes, will it wipe the TWRP recovery as well?
Also, now I have stock recovery with root and if I flash the TWRP again, do I need to format data again? I have installed all the apps and copied data in phone and dont want to lose again..
Please help.. Thanks in advance!
You shoulf flash magisk after recovery
Thanks for the reply.. I did flash magisk after flashing TWRP to root the phone.. But now my recovery is Stock..

Losing Recovery after install Custom ROM

Hi,
I have the following problem.
I was able to install the custom ROM properly on my Mi9t pro. Unfortunately my Orangefox Recovery was deleted After the installation.
If I want to install Magisk now, I have to reflash the recovery first.
Do you have any idea why the recovery is deleted? Is there a way to prevent that?
Thanks in advance.

Your (custom) Recovery was really deleted?
Or replaced by stock Recovery
Who says that installation of Magisk requires custom Recovery?
Magisk documentation (Installation Instructions) - please find it on Magisk Github - certainly not.
Patch the boot.img and flash (it can be flashed by Fastboot, hence custom Recovery is not a must to have)
Hi,
it really gets deleted. My cell phone is then only in fastboot mode.
I am not interested in flashing Magisk either, but rather that recovery after an installation is no longer available. This makes installing updates more cumbersome.
I only have the problem when I flash a custom ROM. when I flash a MIUI ROM from xiaomi.eu Beta, the recovery is retained.
