Anyone know of a full coverage screen protector that's completely clear? I'm not sure why so many have colored bezels. I'd prefer to the actual color and material underneath to shine through, not be painted over.

Hi
I scratched the shatter proof screen protector (badly, i hit the screen with the tip of a USB cable and it made a really deep scratch)
I'm kind of obsessive with the phone's screen so I'm planning to remove the shatter proof protector from my Xperia T and place a new one but I'm not sure about wich one is better
Clear protectors promise high transparency but matte ones promise anti dust + anti finger prints
It would be nice to get rid easier from dust and finger prints, but I'm not sure about how will the image be afected. Does anyone know if matte protectors mess with the image in any way? Wich one would you recommend?
Thanks for taking time to read my question, I hope you can help me
Also, I've read that the Xperia Z and some new models come with the Sony logo printed on the screen protector instead of the glass, are the new models of Xperia T like that, too?
Get the clear. Matte will not only noticeably reduce screen quality, but'll also mess with your eyes and mind >.<
I'd recommend a matte screenprotector. I had a clear one, but after a while there started to show some scratches. After bought a matte one, I noticed that the image on the screen wasn't affected that much. Also, your finger slides more easily over the screen when using a matte one, so I recommend a matte screen protector!
After I was getting more and more annoyed by constant screen polishing, and also the occasional rainbow spots left from skin lipid, this morning I removed the glossy screen protector to apply a matt type.
After I switched the phone back on I got a mild shock. The amount of degradation in sharpness and vividness was surprising. My mobile's screen pixel density is 342 ppi, so, quite good. With the matt plastic it's like putting the bottom of my water bottle as a lens protector for a Zeiss camera lens.
I feel what would really be needed is something in between, with a silky smooth, semi-gloss surface.
I've got this one : http://www.disagu.fr/golebo-semi-matt-protection-d-ecran-pour-sony-xperia-tx.html
very good product.
i like the matte one.. its comfortable in my hand,. and my finger like dancing on the screen....
its not too affect color quality...

Yep I've tried both types on various devices and I wish there was something which had the best of both worlds...
But for now I guess it's:
Glossy - best image quality but get dirty
Matte - clean & smooth but degradation of image sharpness & colour
On my tablet I use glossy and my phone I use matte

matte is perfect on my TX but negligible image sharpness quality. But glassy is not preferable
ive tried both, but now.. not using it anymore, its more beautiful without those screen protectors.:victory:
I just did the whole proccess.
The whole thing doesn't cover the active screen fully. There is a thin uncovered part on the edges.
All around the protector I have a "lifted" frame that doesn't even touch the screen. Dirt and fiber will probably get stuck in there over time...
Also the camera glass protector is made out of a pretty non-smooth glass.. I can't even clean it with a cloth without leaving residue behind.
IS IT JUST ME?
Why is it so low quality??
I have one and the actual screen part is fully covered. Also, My protector is ever so slight;y lifted but not much. My camera protector is good as well.
I bought mine on ebay for under $10. Maybe they have quality control issues?
I have bought also Nillkin 9H protector and it fits as it should because it is made so it covers only the flat part of the screen.
Edges of the screen are rounded as you have noticed and protector can not fit on top of them , I know this because I had protector that was covering whole screen and it was not good believe me.
Full coverage screen protectors are not good for two reasons:
1. beneath the protector where are the edges dust collects and because there is very small gap you can not clean it. (looks horrible)
2. because protector is not in contact with rounded edges of the screen it will crack in 99% when it falls. (This is based on my personal experience)
So do not worry you'll get used to it and appreciate the benefits.
Can somebody please take a picture of how much gap there is to the edge of the screen for Nillkin? I have a noname screen 9H protector and considering switching to Nillkin if it has less edge gap.
Okay so I ordered some tempered glass through Aliexpress. I got it and it has the black trim around it which is fine. However unlike all my other tempered glass purchases in the past (none had painted trim before) this only had adhesive on the colored areas and the the main area over the display had no adhesive. Is this the way of all the full coverage glass that has painted trim around the edges of the screen protector?
I uploaded a picture of a similar style, not the exact one I purchased but this one shows the style better.
Is there a full screen protector with adhesive over the whole back surface and not just around the edges?
So I guess no one has found a full screen tempered glass protector with the back having adhesive on the entire surface and not just around the edge? This is for the 4X variant.
Sadly not. I'm having a lot of trouble finding a screen protector for these phones that isn't terrible...
I have this mocolo glass but the problem is that the touch sensibility is terrible. Do you know how to increase screen sensibility?

Looking for something that actually goes to the edges. I have one now thats "case friendly" and hate that I have a 1/4inch gap to the edge, and it literally covers the whole cool part of the screen being curved. Part of the screen that is actually on is uncovered on each side, it's lame, looks like I put one on from a different phone. Prefer that it's all clear
whitestone or no glass protector at all.

the only thing I've seen so far is the Gpel which seems to cover the screen almost all the way down the sides and goes almost all the way to the bottom and top. it works with the Gpel cases, not sure about other cases. it isn't a clear tempered glass though, it has the black bars on top, bottom and sides and it has the dot-matrix grid. I haven't tried it out myself but was looking for something similar to a real full coverage
Does anyone make a clear film wet applied screen protector that is a compromise between a fill coverage and one that has a 2.5mm gap on the edges?
The current Skinomi one I have is similar to the Armour suit and illumishield ones. Had a 2.5mm gap all the way around. Was hoping perhaps someone made a version with a 1.5mm gap.
I found the full coverage wet applied ones need to be 100% aligned else a side or edge or corner won't stick down due to the film being half a mil on the frame thus rendering that area to stay down.
But having said that , I've managed the back clear full coverage on mine no problems.

I had Spigen film protectors and they seemed to have pretty full coverage. Easy to apply and by the next day no bubbles or lifted corners. Using Whitestone dome now so can't measure any gap on the Spigen, but I was happy with it.
I have a screenpeel / orange knight... grrr (tourettes) "Screen knight".
Like having a transparent orange stuck to your phone. Terrible.
Like running your finger over a cats tongue. Don`t recommend.
The ArmorSuit screen protectors are very smooth to the touch...until you use the SPen on them LOL Then its track mark city.
I think Skinomi, ArmorSuit, IllumiShield, etc are all cut the same. They each seem to have a full coverage and two version of the caee friendly. One case friendly covers a little more screen than the other.
Phantomskinz has the best quality wet protectors IMO. Thickest, clearest I've been able to find. Yes, they still have a bit of orange peel look, but much less than any others. And I find its more resistant to S Pen damage. That said, they're the hardest to apply and most expensive. Customer service could be better. I also dont like the back skin because the sides, top, and bottom are attached to the same piece.
For the back protector I go with BestSkinEver since the sides, top, and bottom are separate pieces from the back itself. I usually don't bother with those pieces though. They are the best compromise between cost and quality and customer service is excellent.
Both companies offer case friendly front protectors, if that's your thing.
