Branded phone. on stock 14.2.a.1.136
I have a question, Would my phone Imei number set itself to 000000000 if I flash the kitkat rom for my device? I tried flashing a stock rom on another build number which was unbranded and that resulted in no service, no connection to my sim manufacturer or able to look up the kernel, nothing worked. So please reply to my post. My phone is bound for 12 months and I would really like to flash a custom rom like Cyanogen on my device. Is there a way to do this or do I have to wait for a year?
After searching the xda forums I finally found a way to get my phone service up and running again.
My phone is Sony Xperia z1 build 6903 Stock 14.2.a.1.136. bound to a norwegian phone service named Telenor.
Any help or tips are much appreciated, I would really like to avoid encountering the same problem again it costed me alot of grief and will not continue to flash or do anything regarding my phone until someone would be kind enough to point me towards the how to's. Thank you for reading
The "how to's" are very well sign posted in the general and development threads, they are stickies
No, you will not lose IMEI
Thx for replying to my post. one up

you cant use cyanogen rom bcoz it needs a custom kernel, and for you to be able to flash custom kernel you must have an unlocked bootloader..
im not an expert here but i think you cant unlock your bootloader if it is simlocked to your operator
you can only use modified stock rom as mention here by "gregbradley"
so i think you'll have to wait for 12 months for you to flash cyanogen based rom
Sim lock had nothing to do with boot loader unlock. Some Sim locked devices can be unlocked, some Sim free devices can not be unlocked

Well i already have the sim unlock code. so i Will still use the same sim card, but how do warp into the sim unlock mode? I tried setting in another sim card but the phone just asked me to insert the pin for that as well. Then again I would love to unlock my phone and use the same sim card, only difference the phone will be totally mine. So i can flash whatever rom and kernel that suits me. I have been using cyanogen since day one and would love continue to do so.

Your SIM unlock code will not unlock the bootloader, so you will still be unable to flash custom kernels.
Please read what I have said, SIM unlock has nothing to do with Bootloader unlock.
It is true most branded phones have bootloaders which cannot be unlocked and most SIM free phones canbe unlocked. But that is not an exclusive rule.
If you cannot unlock it now, entering a SIM unlock code will NOT unlock your bootloader.
To enter your SIM unlock code, contact your provider who would have given it to you.

You may want to not show your IMEI number to the world.
You can now goto the Sony website and unlock your bootloader using the official way. You can do this whilst you are still SIM locked, proving my point that SIM lock has nothing to do with bootloader unlock
What possible harm can be done with my imei number? Well sim lock certainly voids the service connection flashing builds earlier than 290.

I deleted the post, now final question deleting the sim lock literally will then not unlock my bootloader, that I am able to do as of now. But Completely deleting the sim lock will then leave my phone at my disposal, right? Since I have the sim unlock code, but I need to know how to remove the sim lock from my phone, cause using another sim card, which is not from the same company does not jump start the unlock mode.
Tell me if I got everything right. when I insert the sim unlock the sim lock will be completely gone from my phone right? regardless of what kernel or rom I use? and it can never come back?

Yes, just ask the provider of the sim unlock code how to enter it. It should be your network provider. SIM locks or restrictiosn are nothing to do with firmware, android versions or kernels.
Your bootloader can be unlocked now by visiting the official sony website.
Please do not confuse bootloader and sim lock. they are two different issues and you keep talking as if they are related.
Hi Guys,
I have P8 Lite 2017 (PRA-LX1C33B120) and I want to unlock the second SIM slot.
How can I do it?
I already have the phone rooted, unlocked and with TWRP flashed.
I just don't know what is the right firmware to flash.
I've tried some through DLOAD but it just doesn't work.
Can you please help?
Thx
Be very careful with flashing firmwares, a lot of people bricked phones and this one is complicated to restore.

Yeah. That's it.
But I'm afraid to brick the phone.
I only have this one .
Your Phone has an IMEI. For Dualsim you need two. This cannot function. Wait for the next OTA update. If then afterwards only one Sim is active, your device is also laid out technically only for Sim.
Still can operate with one IMEI, did the same with Mate 9 single to dual, both sims working superb.

Here or this
You can REBRAND your WAS-LX1 (3GB RAM) or WAS-LX1A (4GB RAM) to C432 (European version) and CONVERT Single Sim to Dual Sim!
YOU NEED ANDROID 7 (EMUI 5)!
If you're using Android 8 (EMUI 8) you have to roll back to Android 7 via HwOTA8, then you can REBRAND/UNLOCK the phone and then you can upgrade to Android 8 via HwOTA7.
===================
Requirements:
At least 50% battery charge
Fully Unlocked Bootloader (Phone Unlocked and FRP Unlocked) (Go to Fastboot mode and you can see if it's fully unlocked or not)
TWRP ( You can use any TWRP for P10Lite with EMUI 5, here's a link if you don't have one: https://mega.nz/#!WFYWEJjJ!HZGsY4WKdbYGr6M8VEeztDCzQe6UN020ro6f_g6V8FY )
WAS-LX1 C432 Dual Sim OEMinfo (TWRP backup) ( USE MY OEMinfo, TESTED AND WORKS 100%: https://mega.nz/#!ycpRnSqS!EW5acd5iYDofDGh4zGbWkWXvQwAnPORZB_FKv7KtRP0 )
WAS-LX1 C432 Dual Sim OEMinfo (Flashable ZIP made by KingOfMezi, I have NOT TESTED yet! Might works or might not) (Link: https://mega.nz/#!bYpkCTrb!jHOw1UAW_PcfWzK--e7YLqyw_tLqWuRBIz-eDI7rowU )
WAS-LX1A C432 Dual Sim OEMinfo (Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-k_1rnfFeEvdWxZZE1tNWwwOHM/view)
ROM Warsaw-L21_C432 (Download link: http://androidhost.ru/JT)
===================
LX1A (4GB RAM) owners: Еverything is the same as in the guide below, just use WAS-LX1A C432 Dual Sim OEMinfo and folder WAS-L21A_hw_eu (contains the file update_WAS-L21A_hw_eu.app)
How to:
1. Prepare your SD Card:
Download the archive: Warsaw-L21_C432B182_EU_SERVI CE_androidhost.ru.rar
In the root directory of your SD Card create a folder "dload"
Put the file UPDATE.APP and folder WAS-L21_hw_eu (contains the file update_WAS-L21_hw_eu.app) inside your dload folder
Must be: "SDCARD\dload\UPDATE.APP" and "SDCARD\dload\WAS-L21_hw_eu\update_WAS-L21_hw_eu.app"
Download the archive: DUAL-SIM-OEMINFO-C432.zip
PUT the folder "DUAL-SIM-OEMINFO-C432" into "SDCARD\TWRP\BACKUPS\YOUR_PHONE_SERIAL_NUMBER"
Must be: "SDCARD\TWRP\BACKUPS\YOUR_PHONE_SERIAL_NUMBER\DUAL-SIM-OEMINFO-C432"
Download the archive: Huawei P10 Lite-OemInfoC432DualSim.zip
Put the file Huawei P10 Lite-OemInfoC432DualSim.zip to your SD Card
2. Instalation:
Reboot into TWRP, create a backup of your original OEMinfo (if something goes wrong and you need your original oeminfo)
MOVE or COPY your original OEMinfo somewhere in a safe place
Now you have 2 choices (it doesn't matter which type you choose but you can use my recommended method):
(Recommended) Restore TWRP backup: Go to TWRP -> Restore and select a folder "DUAL-SIM-OEMINFO-C432" then restore the OEMinfo partition.
(Not Tested) Install ZIP via TWRP: Go to TWRP -> Install and select the file "Huawei P10 Lite-OemInfoC432DualSim.zip" then install OEMinfo.
Go to TWRP -> Reboot -> Turn OFF you phone
Once the phone is turned off hold all 3 buttons volume up, volume down, power until you see EMUI update menu
An automated system update process will begin
After successful upgrade your phone will have Dual Sim and STOCK WAS-LX1C432B182
===================
B182 is an old version and soon you will receive OTA update to B184 and then update to B194 and maybe newer versions later
IMEI 1: Your current IMEI
IMEI 2: 000000000000000
===================
Warning:
Then you will have LOCKED Bootloader (you can easily unlock it with the command: fastboot oem unlock YOUR_UNLOCK_CODE)
STOCK RECOVERY (if you want TWRP you have to flash it again)
===================
THIS WORKS ON MY WAS-LX1C432 (3GB ram / Single Sim) and now I have dual sim for free!
===================
It will works on WAS-LX1A but you need Dual SIM OEMinfo for LX1AC432 and you should use folder "WAS-L21A_hw_eu"

hey kingofmezi, i just got a new vodafone p10 lite and was disappointed to discover it had been software crippled to a single sim.
I contacted hauwei and know the device has two IMEIs (and i know them both), even though the about screen only shows one.
If change the firmware to a debranded one, will it automatically show the two IMEIs, or do i have to do something else.

Also i only need to use one time. I can't believe it is not possible to fix this free of charge. especially when i know the real value that has to be set.
Seems the value to 2 digits more than the base value.

Try with TWRP Restore!
Flashing ZIP is not tested, this zip is provided by KingOfMezi but I have not tested it.
I have used TWRP backup/restore method on my phone!
Download this https://mega.nz/#!ycpRnSqS!EW5acd5iYDofDGh4zGbWkWXvQwAnPORZB_FKv7KtRP0 (this is my own OemInfo)
And then do this:
PUT the folder "DUAL-SIM-OEMINFO-C432" into "SDCARD\TWRP\BACKUPS\YOUR_PHONE_SERIAL_NUMBER"
Must be: "SDCARD\TWRP\BACKUPS\YOUR_PHONE_SERIAL_NUMBER\DUAL-SIM-OEMINFO-C432"
Restore TWRP backup: Go to TWRP -> Restore and select a folder "DUAL-SIM-OEMINFO-C432" then restore the OEMinfo partition.
That's the way I did it! Works fine.
Then follow the rest of instruction for install B182.
Could someone be so kind of telling why you were doing this? I mean your phones just have the capability of putting one sim into the phone, the second sim is just virtual? If I am understanding something wrong please correct me
EDIT: Oh, now i saw... there's the possibility to put in a second sim card lol
assuming to what you say its just blocked by the software
Here I am able to do everything according to the instructions how you stated !!! It's great, the phone works without error! I still managed to put a 32 GB SD Memory Card! ALL WORK WITHOUT ERRORS !!!
SIM -1 SIM -2 SD CARD 32GB all in same time! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

Yes, if you SIM is locked to some carrier 2nd SIM will also be locked to the same carrier. There is NO free way to unlock it!
You can unlock the SIM slots with HCU Client and costs only 3 euro (3 credits).

No it won't work unless first you have to clone main imei via chimera tool or any other tool that help to colne imei and you have to buy dual sim tray also.
After that dr.keten rom will work as dual sim.
There are many video on YouTube how to clone imei for dual sim.

Hey, luckily it works for me as I have already. I flashed Stock android Q using odin and there was only 1 imei at that time, and after flashing Dr.Ketan's rom I have 2 imei and dual sim capability . And ofcourse dual sim tray is required.:good:

please can the process of converting N960N to N960F/DS be reversed, and how?
So, flashing the correct firmware for the device restore the phone to it's factory state with software updates available. Dual sim will be lost, (of course). and the device will show the true model as N960N, not N960F/DS

If it was sold as single SIM (L09), you cannot 'transform' (by changing firmware) to dual SIM (L29), because there are hardware differences.
For any flashing (changing cust for stock firmware, custom ROM, rooting, TWRP) you have to buy Bootloader code and unlock Bootloader (it is possible but the code is costly)

They are expensive. I'm also waiting for their answer (people say they answer from time to time, they depend on an insider, when he is able...):
https://imei.by/delivery
Ministry can also do it, little cheaper (40$) but you will need to open back cover and connect Testpoint pins. Minister will need Team Viewer remote access to your PC. I guess (didn't go for, waiting if I can buy from the first above) he will low-level flash an old Oreo, where from it was possible to generate BL code. Then he would, IMO, update back to Pie. Guy told me the operation might take an hour or two:

I was also told that those can provide the code but for ridiculously high price (you can ask them):
https://funkyhuawei.club/
Finally, don't use them, they only unlock BL for one-time (and high price) you don't get the code:

Exactly for VTR-L09 or some other Huawei model (it's not the same)
A year ago I played for a week and rebranded EVA-L09 to L19, tried a lot but it never became dual SIM.
To the other side, similar rebranding to dual SIM model worked fine and straightforward for P9 Lite
Edit: You could have provide a link to spread info and help the community (if single SIM P10 can be really rebranded to dual SIM)
This is what i got with MT tool
Can i install one of those updates and if ok how can i perform it
Thank's
