Motorola Moto 2nd Generation Camera and Flashlight Issue - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My daily driver is a Motorola moto g2/2nd Generation (2014 model) on Titan. I've been using official stock Android Marshmallow since they released and had no problem until last week.
I performed a hard/factory reset when last week my daughter accidentally dropped the phone from about 1 fit high. I often do factory reset (approx 4/5 months interval, to keep the system run smoothly) But this time after resetting I realised that the camera isn't working properly (randomly sometimes it works though). An error comes up saying 'camera error' or sometimes it says "Camera Busy, Camera unable to start. if this repeats please power off your phone and restart." ... Any other apps related to camera, can't access the camera as well.
I also notice that the flashlight turns off automatically after 5 seconds. (when trying to use the flashlight via quick-settings)

}
I tried all possible actions to my knowledge (restarting, tried another factory hard reset - with power and volume down) but everything fails.
Can anyone shade some lights on above issues?
Thanks.

it probably is hardware (flex connector)

System-volum bar goes up and down by itself

Hi,
I have a "little" problem which is very annoying...the volum bar goes up and down by itself, and this happens very often.

(Random picture from google)
Typing a message (or doing anything else on the phone) takes a very long time because it keeps popping up all the time. I upgraded the ROM, but that didn't work either....it seems to use a lot of battery when this happens too Battery can be dead after a day or less...and that's when I haven't even used it at all.
I have no idea why this started to happen...I hadn't done any changes on the phone before that. It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the volume buttons on the side either so it must be a software problem.
Any tips are greatly appreciated
I believe we have the same issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4081584#post4081584
This started happening yesterday for me.
yeah we have the same bug :/ atleast it's nice to see that I'm not the only one with this problem...hopefully someone will come up with a solution to fix this problem....It's driving me crazy
This happened to me after the phone got a little wet. It disappeared after a few days tho.
any chance its the auto change volume of the apointments calander
that mute the sound when u are in a meeting ?

'OK Google' detection stopped working.

Suddenly, the hotword detection stopped working with locked screen, and after couple of days it was broken even in the Google Now screen. I had to manually hit the mic icon to activate the word detection to start a search.
I tried to retrain the voice model, but it's stuck in "Say Google 3 times....".

After SEVERAL attempts, only one time I managed to pass that screen, but the hotword detection worked once before breaking again. Two other cellphones in the same room (Nexus 5 and a Moto E) responded to my "OK Google" every single time I tried to activate my Moto G. A bummer, because I used it a lot.
So far I only tried rebooting, and I'd like to know if someone else is having the same problem and/or knows how to fix it.
Same for me. Any solutions?
same problem here!
any solution?
It has started working again for me. Not sure what i did exactly, but i did wipe the cache and updated to the second 5.0 OTA update.

M7 random and long time vibrations, when pressing the back cover

Hello,
My phone vibrate continuously in my pocket, jacket, when I talk and is near my ear, and everytime I press the top of the screen. In some cases the phone keep vibrating for two minutes without stopping, even I restart or close them. Seems like a pocket detection is always active and can't be interrupted, but I think is a hardware problem. After press the screen again and again, the phone stop vibrating, for some seconds or minutes. I discovered today that pushing with my fingers the back case (2-3 cm around the camera), the phone begin to vibrate. So, pushing the display in the same zone, will generate the same vibration. Probably it's a harware problem in this zone? Can be expensive to repair? In my country (Romania) the service must send the phone in Poland, the headquarter for repairs.

Software: S-OFF, last Viper One, stock kernel
I recived today a reply from a local forum:
"your vibra module is wrong mounted, and touch the black cable (negative pole " - " , cable that was partially stripped. Must to open the case and isolate this cable"
Maybe this fix will be good for others users with the same problem.

Camera bug/One UI 4.1

Soooo, the last few days I'm facing the weirdest bug. The camera suddenly stops working it says camera failed, or that I cannot use the camera in more than one application. The thing is, I've tried everything. The bug persists in safe mode, I've done a factory reset, I've tried downgrading to another version of Android 12(previous update) via Odin, and still the same. And then all of a sudden, it starts to work again, and then breaks a few minutes/hours later. Any suggestions?

Hello ninokiller1915
Go to device maintenance - click on memory - Run now.
when done, close all open applications (if any) and restart your phone. that should help.

Still doesn't work. I've tried literally everything I've known.

General Camera crashing randomly

Hi there,
My camera has been crashing frequently for no apparent reason. It will open just fine, but after some use or switching between modes, the app will crash. Other apps that use the camera like Snapchat or BinaryEye (QR code scanner) sometimes continue to work, but once the initial crash happens, the camera itself typically no longer functions. I will note that the crash doesn't have to happen on just the Asus camera app. I have noticed that it will crash while using Snapchat as well. Another thing I noticed is that the standard 1.0x zoom has trouble focusing, but switching to 0.6x wide-angle is somehow okay.
I have only received an error once, see below:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have tried going back to Asus' Android 12, along with installing LineageOS and StatixOS. Unfortunately, nothing has fixed the issue. At this point, I assume that there is something wrong with the hardware itself. It's just really weird how it works sometimes perfectly fine, then messes up and crashes out of nowhere.
Have any of you had this issue? If so, have you found a fix? I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks
