I'm wondering if Mi Mix Pro can run 4K videos from YouTube, also are there any news about a Nougat update or is it being left with Marshmallow? Also, does it run 60 FPS videos without lag?
The YouTube app doesn't let me select anything about 1080p. I never noticed that until now.
60FPS video doesn't really mean anything. What matters is the codec, the resolution and the bitrate. Is the video DivX or h264 or h265 or whatever. Which profile? The Mi Mix has an Adreno 530 which can handle 4K up to 60FPS. I tried a few high bitrate (~60Mbps) 4k test clips at 24, 30 and 60FPS and they played fine.
Does the screen shows pixels?

I noticed that the screen pixel density is way too low 361, compare to the S8 or other phones which have 400+?

High (30m) - 720p - MPEG4
Low (30m) QCIF - H263 (I'm guessing 480P?)

720p is up to 27fps, 480p is up to 30fps.
Framerates are variable, if you wanted to check you can play the video in VLC or another more "advanced" player or video tool and bring up info to see what the fps is.
AFAIK, framerates are dependent on the ambient light conditions. The brighter the better. I've captured low-light videos @11fps... but in broad daylight, I have video recorded @26fps...

Yeah, unfortunately frame rate and bit-rate are both variables, so the only constant is the resolution. Meaning that editing and re-compression/conversion are going to be a ***** to say the least. I really wish they would make the bit-rate be the only variable and leave the frame rate as a constant, but it is only a phone after all..
How can i know what quality is my video streaming?
like youtube videos, i think they are all 720p (i cant check it anywhere). But i have 40Mbit wireless internet connection so i think its enought to stream 1080p. How can i check what quality did i streaming? (not only youtube but plex and any other video streams)

Most likely it's 720p(it was discussed many times before)-
720p extreme quality is also limitation of Google Cast 14.123.1.4 for Chrome
720p extreme quality setting = Video bitrate 4000-5000 + Audio bitrate 128
720p high quality setting = Video bitrate 2000-2500 + Audio bitrate 128
480p standard quality setting = Video bitrate 750-1500 + Audio bitrate 128

thats only in chrome browser tab stream or im wrong? did chromecast can stream 1080p then? like fullHD movie.

Casting a tab from Chrome is limited to 720p but some casting apps can do 1080p.

Correct.
Tab casting is limited because of the fact that it's doing real-time compression of the screen. For the gamers, it's like running FRAPS except you're streaming rather than saving to disk.

Is your TV set to tell you your resolution? I.e. My Samsung will say 1920x1080 or 1280x720. Don't do much tab casting so I gotta say I've been pretty pleased that the Chromecast seems to always be pumping out 1080p and my receiver on Netflix stuff always lights up the Dolby Digital+ icon.

Netflix has example movies that show the current resolution and bitrate. My CC certainly streams 1080p from Netflix @ 5800 kbps

When the kernel sources released , is it possible to record 4k and 60fps fhd videos and slowmo videos?
Because our phone and camera module is capable of handling 4k videos and high frame rate videos

I'm on global 10.0.20.
Despite configuring it in the camera app, recording videos only works at 30 o 120 fps. I choose in "Video HFR" option 1080p, 240fps, but when recording the videos are recorded in 120 fps, as well as when chosing in the app.
Has anyone been able to record at 240fps?

You need to open the options and select "slow-motion" then you can shoot at 240fps
Maybe that's the problem.
I can't record a regular video at 240 fps.
Only slow motion which plays slows. But there is no way to record a "regular video" which plays at regular speed with 240 fps.

There is no option for regular video at 240 FPS. 240 FPS is for HFR mode (which is slow-mo).

Hi Guys,
Most of you with a Xiaomi Mi 9 must be aware you have the ability to manually set the video compression from h264 or h265 within camera options.
As the Mi 9 can suffer from frames dropped and judder at 4k 30fps which codec is giving you the best overall performance

i use h.265 but bitrate remain the same at h.264 so doesnt make sense why bitrate is not lower with h.265. biggest difference is in 60fps where bitrate is the same on this phone for 30fps and 60fps so h.265 works better at 60fps since average bitrate its dealing with is lower.
